GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

I donno, I just have hearsay opinions saying the Xbox version is the better of the two. I'd guess any changes would be minor graphic improvements, as was typical of Xbox ports last generation.

hey Goomba
I just wanted to check the status on invoice 794 it's a 20 valkyria chronicles from ebgames.I'm worried that I sent it to the wrong paypall account all though paypall did confirm it went through. Thanks
** SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE **

You guys may have heard that expression before. Basically it means whoever makes their issue known will get the immediate attention of the listener (in this case, me). If I have overlooked your order, or if you just want to know what's going on with your specific order/case just let me know here. I'll tack on your order to the mini GYROS updates I'm doing daily. That way you know I didn't forget about you :)

As promised, there will be a lot more entries after this weekend ^_^ Working as hard as I can through this mini-blizzard!
Well, if you insist ;)

Any word on my order? Dead Space Extraction (Wii) and some Crayola Crayons. :bouncy:
TigerToa, I'm happy to say the house is a comfortable 69-70 degrees F right now. It's going to cost a fortune I'm sure, but at least I'm not freezing. Outside we have maybe 4-5 inches of snow but they say we may get as much as 25. Not looking forward to shoveling that tomorrow morning :)
Good to hear.
Shovelling ... good exercise ;)

Any update on my Amazon DVD/CD order? Should of hit UPS on Dec 3rd.

The Xbox version was better received than the PS2 version (I believe the visuals and loading times are better, though I could be mistaken). I like classic Xbox games that play on the 360 mostly because I never had an original Xbox and like to see what I was missing. Apparently not much, but there are some good gems out there. This game definitely caught my eye now that you guys mentioned it. I had never heard of it before honestly, but if it's from the Heavy Rain people I'd love to try it!

Okay guys, so I got home a lot later than expected :) The Blizzard had me shovelling all morning and then I was working at the casino for my full shift. Good news though, I'm home by 5PM tomorrow and will be resuming a lot of packing. For all who requested item updates, I will include your items in the next GYROs update ^_^ Thanks!

TigerToa, I got your movies as well. I will be finishing and sorting out all remaining orders this week so just hang in there. Almost there :) I will breathe a big sigh of relief once we're caught up. I hate being behind on anything, especially GFC orders. Thanks again guys!

Wow. lots of people getting Valkyria Chronicles. Is that a holiday special from ebgames or just an overall price drop? Since its $20, what have people been paying after shipping + handling + shipping to Canada?
may have to jump in on this bandwagon. Seeing how gamestop.ca doesn't even have it listed at all.

The thing about Valkyria, it was limited to only 2 per household online but in stores (when I can find them in stock) they don't have that restriction. So I can buy them as I find them, though they are drying up as I've got most of the local copies. Altogether it comes out to be $26.50 or so after tax/shipping/service charge. Not bad for a gem of a game :) Keep in mind also most copies are not sealed, though they are New.

K thanks for the info Goomba. I suppose I should wait anyways. Its almost christmas and I already have a ridiculous backlog. Then by the time I get through those games its gonna be feb/march when games like GoWIII, FFXIII, WKC, etc. are gonna be out. Then my marks go down in school...

Yeah, actually there is a TON of AAA games coming out in the next year for just about all the systems. I still recommend at least renting Valkyria Chronicles some time :) Or I guess you could always buy the PSP sequel coming up, though I'm sure it won't hold up quite as well graphically to its PS3 brother. Best of luck to you with your school and your backlog :)

Would I be able to get a status update on a self order? I am wondering if maybe I have done something wrong. I have put in a direct request shortly after ordering my item and, according to amazon.com, my package was delivered on December 9th. Now, all I have to do is wait for an invoice to be sent to my email address? I apologize if you just haven't had the time to get to my order yet.

It should have come as a single package containing Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (PSP) and a USB drive.

RavenousBear, I did see the Persona but I don't remember if it had a USB key with it or not. I will double check when I go home tonight :) I'll get back to you soon. I'm at work now so I can't check until around 5:00 PM. Thanks!

goomba, if you're by Best Buy anytime soon, can you pick up Metroid Prime Trilogy for $19.99 me? It's just my inner consumer whore talking and I'm not sure if I'd even get around to playing it, so don't worry if you can't make it. I will definitely pay if you get it though.

Firestorm, I was going to but my stores are all sold out as is the website, so it's a no go. Sorry. I wanted one too for $20...such an amazing price :(

TripleQ, yes I have yours. No worries. Just putting the final touches on the automated forms and then I'll be doing all the UPS orders in the next few days ^_^ Thanks.

** GFC UPDATE **

The new Beta DR 2.0 form is around 80% done! I just have to put the final touches on it and then it should go live the first week of January for Beta use :) It's really quite nice as it calculates just about everything you'd want it to: Item Prices, Service Charges and even shipping charges! This means that 99% of my busy work (invoicing) will be automated. In addition, you will be able to (if you like) pre-pay for your items, UPS pickup items and more. It's going to speed up the whole GFC site in ways un-imaginable. Hope you guys love it :)

I'm really looking forward to this!

Too bad it won't be ready for Boxing day, I can see you having another crazy week!

I was just watching CBC news and they had a story about shopping at US sites over the holidays and the hoops Canadians have to jump through to have things shipped up here. They then showed some guy in ND that has a business exactly like GFC and how he has been expanding each year (his garage has gotten bigger three times). The guy even had to get a forklift to deal with all the packages he gets each day and had to hire a lady to help him out. They then showed the post office in his town (which is 1.5 hours from Winnipeg) and that almost all the PO boxes there belonged to Canadians. I hope GFC will enjoy his kind of success some day.

My mom recently signed up for a service like this through the Visa perks program...$15 a year to re-route all US purchases from online retailers via some border city. Although they don't have direct request

Fuzzy, now THAT'S interesting. I would have loved to see that video (I can really relate to that guy very well haha). Maybe some day we can catch up to him and get on the TV...nothing like free publicity!

If you find the video online anywhere let me know :) Very inspiring!

I posted about that service in this thread when it started and it was a huge ripoff compared to GFC.

If I see the video online I'll be sure to post it here.

If I'm not mistaken, the Boxing Day sales are mostly Canadian stores right? I don't recall any Boxing Day sales in the USA, unless I'm just forgetting :) But if there are Boxing Day sales here, I welcome them!

Fuzzy, yeah I remember you reporting on them way back when. Definitely a rip-off. The good news is GFC is going to get better and better in our services, not to mention we will have a rewards system VERY soon. Once the automated forms are all finished, then rewards go live. I'm as excited as you guys are :)

hey goomba, not related to GFC, but do you know when there'll be another lowball where I can sell/donate some items? I have a bunch that I will never really play and I doubt anyone will buy.

New Lowball is starting on 01/01/2010 :) there will be a form for you to add your own items. If you'd like to sell or donate you're more than welcome to. More on this next week ;)

"In Canada,[6] New Zealand, the United Kingdom,[7] and some states of Australia,[8] Boxing Day is primarily known as a shopping holiday. It is a time where shops have sales, often with dramatic price decreases. For many merchants, Boxing Day has become the day of the year with the greatest revenue."

The Independent News site for U.K, CTV.ca, and Australian News site state clearly it is a day for Merchant's to make good money from "dramatic price decreases" on selected products. It's sort of like Black Friday but surprisingly enough the other former colonies of U.K and Germany just use it as a bank holiday.

Why is it a rip-off?
If you order more than 15 items, in theory wouldn't it pay for itself?

neksus, is it just a flat fee for the year? I was told that there were other charges involved based on weight and such. Maybe it's a different program? I can't see how they could do free forwarding. Curious how it all works though!

I'm not entirely certain as she just briefly mentioned it in passing - she's fairly frugal with her money, though, so I imagine it's simply flat fee + cost of shipping.

If the shipping is FedEX or UPS then that shipping costs will likely negate much of the savings. If it's USPS then it may actually be alright. I still am a bit skeptical :)

Thanks for that adrianchan... I'm going to go hide now :whistle2:#

I don't directly do Yahoo Auctions, but I do work with someone that does. I generally go through dv8mad who lives in Japan (and is a fellow CAG). He's very reliable though sometimes quite busy with other life matters. Did you have a specific item in mind?

Shipping at the time on a video game was $24 US.

I'm looking at a rare jacket, curious though what your service fees are ?

Tetsugen, for Japanese orders I charge my typical $2.00 service charge for arranging the transaction and then give $3.00 - $5.00 to dv8mad for his services. If you want the item from Japan, just do me a favor and fill out a request here:

I'll try to work it out with you. Thanks!
Got my invoice, thanks Goomba.

Does anyone know why paypal wants to charge me a $0.12 fee to send money? I select gift and I've got the funds available in my account. I thought it was supposed to be free if funds were available. I know it's only 12 cents, but it's the principle behind the matter.

Anyone have any idea?

Paypal has weird charges lately relating to currency exchanges and things. I can't figure them out any more as it seems every person pays slightly different fees. Not sure what's up with that. I'd just pay the 12 cents for now, but my Lord that is quite odd. I agree on the principle though, Paypal seems a bit shady at times to me as well.

By the way tkszeto, if you can pay in the next 20 minutes I'll ship it out today, otherwise it goes out first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks!

Thanks!
D'oh, I missed the 20 mins mark, had to go pick up some bread for my wife :bomb:

I just sent payment, with my user name in the message. Should have put in invoice in retrospect. Next time, since I'm sure there will be may more next times
