GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

One last thing telepathy, I see that you already sent in a payment of $81.00 which was actually more than the item ended for. So what I did was apply your payment towards the two items (the invoice I just sent you). I am going to resend the invoice for you that shows the payments applied and what is due afterwards. Thanks ^_^ Sorry for any confusion. Let me know if that all makes sense to you after you get the new one.

Thanks!

So if persay i were to pay by instant transfer direct from bank account, this is how to do it so you dont incur fees (& we save on processing fees)?

1. select email to send money to [email protected]
2. Mark payment a gift
3. ????
4. Profit

Telepathy, as I mentioned in my Email I just sent (not sure if you got it yet so I'll quote here):

If you send the payment to my personal account: [email protected] with funds (other than a credit card/debit card) and mark it as a GIFT there should be no additional fees. Feel free to try it out. The worst that can happen is I get a fee and I refund it to you to resend back to my business account. Thanks again!

Sorry to make you run in circles. This is a learning process for me as well. With each successful order I gain experience (much like a big Never-Ending RPG ^_^). Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Looks like a 100% Success to me my friend:

**PAYPAL TRANSACTION **

Amount received:

$20.62 USD Fee amount:
$0.00 USD Net amount:
$20.62 USD

Thanks so much :) Now we know the secret ^_^

I do as a matter of fact have some more artbooks in stock. My eBay one sold for $57.00 shipped (very pricey I realize) but I bought them for around $50 a piece and am selling them at cost if you are interested. If not, chances are they will be available cheaper in the future, but I bought them strictly for a quick turnover sale and do not plan on holding onto them. I have 2 left (and will be relisting one of them on eBay tomorrow).

Let me know if you'd want one. If not, don't worry my feelings won't be hurt. I'm not trying to be greedy :) they're just a hot item and God knows I need to recoup some money this month.

GOD, I WANT 1 REALLY BAD. How much would you sell it for? If it is around $50ish shipped, ill buy it, though i have to transfer some money from my saving to my checking before i can pay you.

I can do $48 shipped for you telepathy (break even cost for me). If that sounds fair then I will hold one on the side for you no problem :) Let me know. Thanks!

Goomba, a little criticism... The reason I don't use the direct request feature is because I'm one of the few people who buy like 3+ games at a time and it only allows for one link. It's quite alot of work having to type that out multiple times and I don't know if you put it all on the same order.

RoganSarine, I hear you but I'm such a big animation/art freak that in some ways I can justify paying it for art books (especially RARE ones). This one is a bit on the thin side honestly but it's got some great stuff :)

Thanks telepathy! No problem. I will happily keep one for you. I'd rather sell it to you than lose money on it on eBay or have to ship to some country and have it wait in customs for a month.

Yeah, ive already seen the book & do believe that it is worth the top dollar.

If it ever gets cheaper, ill gladly pick up a couple more copies for myself

Goomba, I was trying a little obscure thing which auto typed in information for your direct deals. Can you see if you got all 4 different orders?

I take it the artbooks are out of print now right? I wonder how much the game + artbook costed originally... probably free preorder gift.

Eh... as much as I'd like the artbook... I'd probably flip through it once and shelf it forever in a plastic sleeve unfortunately like I did the rest of my artbooks... can't justify $50 on a book (or afford it) if I can get a game for that price unfortunately. I kind of wish someone would scan the whole artbook just so I could look at it once... curious to see what's in it.

RoganSarine, You're a frequent customer of mine and I know your situation. Here's a hint though: You don't need to fill out all the info. Just put in your name (RoganSarine is fine since I have you on file already) and in the comment field just put what the order is for. The only reason I need the DR form to be filled out right now is so I have a record. CAG PM's get deleted weekly by me (because my box fills so fast) and Emails are tricky since many people have different Email addresses and their names often don't match. Having a DR record at least gives me something to go by.

At the moment I color-code everything in Microsoft Outlook, so as soon as I get an order on the DR it goes into my Direct Request folder. I mark it as Orange (for "Canadian Orders") and give it a color responding to different statuses (Invoice Sent, Payment Pending, Payment Received, Items Ordered, Items Shipped, etc.). It's a pretty complex system I put together and I have it down to a T. The problem is with orders that don't use the DR, I end up having to just try to track them through my Quickbooks software but it's not as easy as it sounds.

Hopefully that makes some sense. So the moral of the story is, if you order anything (even if you order it yourself and have it shipped to my house) it's best if you fill out a DR form and just let me know.

Sample:

Name: RoganSarine (CAG)
Address: Blank
Item: BlazBlue Artbook - PM Sent on CAG, Mortal Kombat II (SNES), Coraline (Blu-Ray)
Price: $100.00 USD Total + Shipping

That's it. It'll take less than a minute to fill out and gives me a clear record of what you want :) And who wouldn't want Mortal Kombat II for the SNES or Coraline on Blu-Ray?

RoganSarine (feel like I'm spamming you but I'm really just responding to your questions one after another just after I finish the old ones haha):

Yes I did receive all 4 of your orders :) I will try to send you a single invoice tomorrow for them. Looks like your info-filler-outer worked well!

Sent you the money good sir  Just in case you were wondering, I wasn't pissed that you didn't send me the invoice right away. I was just wondering if you had forgotten about it because you get so many requests a day and keeping track of your jobs and whatnot. I will definitely use your direct request service from now on

Thanks again Goombs

Thank you good sir. I have received your payment and put your order in ^_^

Oh I totally didn't think you were mad or anything. Just wanted you to know I'm (generally) pretty good at keeping track of who wants what. I say generally because I do miss the occasional Email that goes to Junk Mail or CAG PM that goes unnoticed, but I'm tightening things and the GFC service is really becoming a lot more concrete than it once was.

You have no idea how many orders I've been getting lately (it's a great thing, trust me!) but it does get a bit chaotic. My wife still thinks I'm crazy, but that's not so bad :) Now if you'll excuse me, I still have like 10 packages to pack lol. So much for going to bed by 1:00 AM =P hehe

I just realized... Even though you charge so little... with the amount of orders you get you get about $100 every 2 weeks or so?

By the way, I thought I should point it out... Apparently the latest version of internet explorer flags your website as a potential phishing website. I've had to send a thing to microsoft saying it's not 3 times on seperate friends computers who use IE9 and trust it.

51j5kNVe8CL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

Very good deal (if you ask me): Coraline 3D Collector's Edition Blu Ray - 2 Discs, Includes 2D and 3D versions and 4 pairs of 3D glasses: $25 USD shipped to Canada

If you like animated movies (especially those like Nightmare Before Christmas which are stop-motion movies) then you owe it to yourself to see Coraline. It's a gorgeous movie and really incredible in terms of animation. I have my copy pre-ordered (comes out today). Retails for $40+ USD in the US. Not sure about in Canada :)

RoganSarine, you'd think that I make $100+ bi-weekly, but it's not really that simple. There are a lot of fees for running the service including (but not limited to):

PO BOX (for business mail): $125 USD/year
Endicia (Service I use for shipping): $20 a month or so
Paypal Fees (We all know about them =P)
Packing Supplies: $50+ a month. You'd be surprised how much proper shipping tapes can cost as well as shipping labels
Gas: Believe it or not, but running to the Post Office every day and several local stores gets expensive fast, even if you drive a hybrid Prius ^_^;;
UPS Store Account: $250 USD / year. I often ship packages I order for you guys to my UPS store because they can sign for packages. I am often at work during the day (when they deliver packages) and so it's a necessary service.

and the big one:

Credit Card Fees: Even though I am starting to do what I'm supposed to do (buy items directly with the funds you send me on Paypal), the sad fact is that I have a LOT of credit card debt and have had to (in the past) use cards to buy items for GFC. I also did a lot of speculating on what items would sell well when I first started GFC (when it was more of a store and less of a shipping service) and I pay a TON in fees. These easily gobble up all profits so until I pay them off, it's sort of a break-even sort of situation =L

So as you can see, there are a lot of fees :) The idea is that eventually as I grow my customer base, then yes I will make $50-$100 a week (or more!) but right now I am weaning myself off credit cards, increasing my awareness in the community and finding new customers all the time. As I improve my site, get my system down better and find more time for shipping, things will improve :) Wish me luck!

As for the IE8 saying my site is a phishing scheme, yeah that's no good. If I get enough money in the future I'll get my own SSL license or something similar to get rid of those messages. Not much I can do about it in the meantime (unfortunately). Thanks for the heads up though :)

Haha spike32, yeah you're totally right. Nobody in their right mind would put this much effort and time into such a silly service, but the fact is it combines all my hobbies and skills into one nice package. I was raised believing that you should do what you enjoy and that everyone has their own talents and such.

GFC combines my love of video games, community, giving back, making friends, website design, coding, artwork and of course making a little side money on the side. Not much more I can ask than that. I can't think of many other things that can combine so many interests of mine so perfectly :) I appreciate you all giving me the means to build my services slowly but surely ^_^

don't forget about feedback for your combined list ;) Can't go wrong with getting more positive feedback, haha. Anyways I'm headed off to bed for the night, The new game Trine is amazing and yet the last level pissed me off so much that I'm tired :wall: Thanks again Goomba.

Haha yeah, I'm nearing 200 now for iTrader feedback. Definitely a nice added bonus on the side for sure. I'd give you guys more feedback if I could, but sadly I can only add a single digit to your numbers ;P

Thanks Firestorm :) I won't stop you if you want to throw some extra change into my Tip Jar ^_^ I won't increase my prices any time soon though as I don't want to chase away customers. I realize my fees are a bit low in the industry, but I do it intentionally. If I charge too much then most deals wouldn't be very tempting to most buyers. I would like to build the number of orders and do business that way (at least for now). Thanks though :)

Telepathy, they are only making 500 of them so expect them to sell easily for $500 (no joke). All the limited edition Comic-Con items are worth a lot, and for something that eas going for $300+ for the regular version not long ago. Chances of getting one of these affordable is next to zero sadly. I'm sure they'll be on eBay though if you want to throw a Direct Request my way next week ^_^

lol, i was hoping there would be an easier way. i guess ill just have 2 settle with my normal TE sticks.

thanks anyway though. it wouldve been nice not to have had to gouge myself to get me one of them.

I just checked paypal and nothing has shown up in the balance as of yet Goomba but as soon as it does I will be transfering the funds back to you. Sorry for the hassle in getting you the $$ for my request. It will be coming ASAP.

telepathy, yeah it would be nice but this is sadly the nature of super-rare gaming goodies. Maybe in the future we'll luck out and someone will sell it online for cheap. Doubtful, but not impossible :)

CrushEm, don't worry man. Just take your time. I don't have your LP yet anyway so it's a fair thing. It wasn't very expensive anyway so just let Paypal do it's thing ^_^ Don't even give it a second thought :)

Hey Goomba, I’ve never bought anything from you but I appreciate what you are doing! You should really get that SSL certificate and go on an advertising campaign! And when you do then maybe increase your prices so you actually make some good money out of it, BUT keep the price the same for all CAG users!

That way you don't scare your current customers away, and your new price will still seem cheap to new customers.

arfin, I will only get the SSL certificate and all that once I cement the site 100% the way I envision it. The store works, and the Direct Request service works, but the site is very amateur at best. I have a lot of ideas. Once I get some money to invest in it, I promise I'll beef up the site, get some advertising out and grow it :) I'm just working to get the ideas solid and the site working 100% the way I want, then I can grow ^_^

Don't worry :) I may not be the best marketer, but I will make this thing work for everyone!

By the way, you could always open your site with IE9 or whatever click the phishing site thing and then you'd be directed to microsofts website and you can say you own the website...

Probably won't help, but it might :p
Credit Card Fees: Even though I am starting to do what I'm supposed to do (buy items directly with the funds you send me on Paypal)
I'm surprised you don't have a Paypal debit card to pay for the purchases with Paypal funds.

It's a Mastercard that uses your Paypal balance as its "credit" limit. I've got mine a few years ago and it even gives 1.5% cash back on purchases made with it. The cash back on purchases worked out to lower the 2.9% paypal fees to something more reasonable.

Jbently, I actually do have a Paypal Mastercard, but you have to remember one thing: It only works on the account that has the Debit Card applied. For me, it's tied to my business account and since most GFC members send to my personal account (to avoid the fees) I either have no cash back with the debit card, or I have to send the money from my personal to my business account, which incurs a 3.0%+ Fee which negates the 1.5% back. So I do use it on payments made to my business, but for personal payments it doesn't quite work. Hence the credit cards =P

PS: New members only get 1.0% back, though I am grandfathered in with the original 1.5% as well.

Yeah, that is true with the two accounts, as I've only had one Paypal account set up.

Hmm, looking at the Paypal fees page just now it states for personal transfers:

"Free when the money comes from PayPal balance or bank account."

Maybe you can transfer the funds from your personal account to your business account with the Paypal funds already in it and incur no fees!

Jbently, yeah it sucks but there's no way around it for me. My Paypal Debit USED to be my personal account, but one time an eBay buyer paid me on my personal acct with a credit card and I accidentally updated it to premiere/business. They said I had already downgraded once and wouldn't make an exception (I was on the phone for over 2 hours). So now I'm stuck :(

You can make free transfer from business TO personal, but not the other way around. It's all good. I have roughly 7 years or so and I expect to be 100% out of debt (Credit Cards, College Loans, Car payments, etc.). I know 7 years sounds like a long time, but if I pace myself it's very doable. If GFC grows faster than maybe I can shave a year or two off that goal ^_^

EDIT: It seems that Paypal now allows me to send money from my personal to my business (marked as a gift) with NO fees. That's HUGE for me. Thanks so much to bringing this to my attention. I probably wouldn't have tried it out for ages if you hadn't mentioned it. Thanks again Jbently :)

Thanks Goomba! I got my package today. I must say I was awfully surprised to see it arrive so quickly as most of my orders from the US take more than 2 weeks! It's also nice to see you writing a personalized message on it too! No one has ever done that for me. The next time I need a game, I'll definitely come to you. Thanks again!! :D

Edit: Also, I took a look at the amazon.com website. Apparently they're selling P3 for about $50 now. :whee: It's a good thing I bought it when I did!! :D

Hey Goomba, did you receive my other package yet?

Also, I'm short the price of 1 game after the conversion. If you want, I can give you my amazon gift cards and the amount I have if you want to order them for me (incase they are bought).
