GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. If you have any questions feel free to Email us at [email protected] .

Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.

Estimated Shipping Costs:

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items. This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.
Yes it's true that Blu-Rays are ridiculously durable and that's why I love them. I have no reservation buying used PS3 games because I have yet to receive one with anything more than a few fingerprints (which are easily cleaned off and removed). I think the greatest thing about this generation are honestly the downloadable games. Every system has ridiculously good exclusives. Not only are they good games, but they're inexpensive (for the most part) as well :) Hope the next generation continues this trend (and I think they will).
then wont you be out of business = :speaktothehand:;
so are you going to find new alternatives beside selling/redirecting video games HAHAA..

Yeah, well I wouldn't say out of business. I'd say in a slightly different business. Physical games will eventually be phased out, maybe not completely, but even someone like me who obsesses about collecting games and having cases/manuals and everything perfect is starting to think that the idea of a clean gaming space with only the systems and less clutter sounds quite nice. I can't do it now because I don't trust companies with DRM and such and I do like the box art and such, but I do think it's the future.

The good news though is that games are only one of the things people order, and I can always change the name of the company or open alternative ones :)

I, for one, have actually required goomba's services to buy digital content not just once but TWICE (one of them a game), interestingly enough.

But while I love the digital distribution of Steam, I'm okay with it mainly because it doesn't have a limited lifespan. Those games should work for a very long time, maybe even my entire lifetime if Valve holds to their promise of unlocking the games from the service if Steam ever goes under, and I can realistically expect the games to keep working on my next PC, and the one after that, etc. I can also install these games and play them on my PC, laptop, friends' computers, or whatever, however many times I want, without hassle.

But at the same time, I'm not personally a huge fan of the smaller and/or episodic content offered by the console services. The half-life episodes on the PC are kind of an exception to this because they are really bigger and better than many full-priced games. I do enjoy an indie game every once in a while, but mostly I stick to the epic single player games (just got done with mass effect 1 and 2, for instance), and the console services don't really offer game downloads like that just yet, so I don't have a ton of experience with them. I know you can usually have the same game downloaded to a few different consoles, but with the PS3 for instance, I believe the limit is 5. And as far as I'm aware, there's no guarantee that the downloadable purchases I make now will transfer to the PS4 or whatever the next Xbox or Nintendo platform will be, very much unlike PC. So except for a handful of brilliant indie games that are simply only available as downloads, there is no real advantage as of yet to buy a downloaded console game rather than a disc. I may or may not get backwards compatibility in the next consoles, but at least I can sell my used games if I want to. Steam on the PC ALSO prevents you from selling used games, but in my opinion, the other freedoms they give outweigh that single negative and so I ALWAYS buy my games on Steam when possible.

Besides, I have no interest in downloading a filled-to-the-brim BD-50 game over the Internet, especially considering that the ISPs here pretty much all cap monthly bandwidth. I have one of the most generous services, with a soft-cap of 95GB/month (I can go over but it will cost me $1.50/gb to a max of $25, at which point I might as well go nuts on the downloading.) And some people just prefer having physical copies of everything and treat them as collector's items.

Though probably most importantly of all, as goomba touched on, games are no longer the sole source of his business. In fact, if you look at the month of January, I didn't do an actual count, but it looks like video game purchases actually made up a MINORITY of his shipments. There's plenty of other stuff us Canadians want but either can't get, or can get it significantly cheaper across the border from a business that doesn't ship direct to Canada. I think I've used his service 5 times and other than once where Steam wasn't accepting my paypal for some reason, none of them have been video games.

So I think he'll be fine :) The bigger issue I see for him is that his fees are extremely generous, but this is kind of necessary to remain competitive with just buying stuff in Canada instead.

Hello Goomba. I just made the payment for the XBL Gold membership & I'll be paying for my other requests in the morning once I budget it out. Thanks for clearing everything up for me.

Uhh... Reading break isn't spring break... Reading break is something our colleges/universities do. It's still called spring break by all grade schools :p

I think the grade schools still have spring break in march, or it may have been canceled due to them being out of school (maybe?) for the olympics too for the two weeks.

I'm just saying :p

But yeah, just platinumed my Resident Evil 5 Goomba sent me... Now I got the two weeks to play some good 'ole left 4 dead 2 and batman! For being a beat'em up, Batman is actually surprisingly good. I didn't really believe people when they said it was (I enjoy it WAY more than uncharted).

Wait, the fuck? Grade schools get two weeks off for the Olympics?! The kind of bullshit is that?

Also reading week ain't for partying... it's kinda for getting ready for midterms. Well doesn't stop all of us from partying and slacking off ;).

That's awesome about time off for the Olympics. A well-deserved break I'm sure :)

I am heading off to my University job, but I'm working hard on more of your orders today guys as well. Keep in touch.

no the reading break is like my spring break. I dont get a spring break lol.

Hey guys, wanted to let you know today was pretty successful in getting out orders. Got about 25 orders out and more going out tomorrow. Keep in mind Monday will be closed at the post office since it's Presidents' Day here in the USA, but I'll be caught up for most orders by the end of the week (except for items that have yet to come in of course). Thanks for hanging in there and keeping me busy. I love it :)

all my midterms were before... so yeah....

* Watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony on TV at my Grandma's *

Looks beautiful there. It's a real shame about the death of the luge runner though. Hope it doesn't dishearten the mood of the competition. Good luck everyone and enjoy the games :) Makes me really want to go to visit Vancouver!

Don't let the snow fool you... It ain't ours :p

I feel bad though, olympics are here... And Im just not at all interested, it's a once in a lifetime thing. I feel dirty.

Eh, I consider it to be the exact same thing with school administrators merely attempting to change the outcome :)

 That's a pretty Canadian attitude for many of us. Of course, there's always the idiots who go nuts for Tim Horton's and the Molson "I am Canadian" commercials, but for so many of us it's like uh.... okay... why should I care so much about these guys just because they happened to be born in the same gigantic geopolitcal area I was born in? Canadians suck at the whole national pride thing, but I'm pretty happy with that as it's kind of a juvenile attitude and just encourages intolerance.

Agreed, I try to care but it's hard. For me it's the same with hockey...I just don't care, and don't even try to pretend. Maybe I should at least try to pretend?

Just wanted to let you guys know I will be in Providence, RI for much of the day: Getting my wife's iPhone fixed, celebrating Chinese New Year and an early Valentine's Day. I will be processing more orders tonight which will be reflected on the GYROS page. Many more links turning yellow and green :) Thanks everyone for your support!

I started caring after seeing the torch go by SFU =P Yay, I'm on Olympic Break now :D

Just wanted to chime in saying it's cool seeing people on RFD bringing up GFC as a forwarder service and asking for opinions on it. I think soon it might just become a standard for people on the site without doubts. Congrats goomba!

I thought the whole torch running thing was neat. It passed by only 2 blocks away from my house, so I went over and followed it for a block. Which was pretty awesome :) Of course after going home and looking at the internet for a bit I got pretty pissed. It turns out if I followed an extra block or two I would've seen Trevor Linden with it... He's hands down my favorite athlete, seeing him with it would've been way more awesome than Schwarzenegger or Gretzky

I can understand not caring about the whole thing though, I'm hardly a sports fan. But am I the only one who finds the anti-olympic guys to be retarded? It was nigh impossible to stop once we were declared the host city. At this point outright killing athletes won't stop the games (see 1972), it's laughable they think a "riot" with petty vandalism will make a difference

Firestorm, yeah I'm so happy! I have had about 20 new RFD customers this week (maybe more and so far so good!). I just am trying to make them all happy to continue this ball rolling ^_^ Lots of big orders so I'm doing something right. Thanks so much for your assistance and for putting out a good word for me. It really does make a world of difference!

ragnar14, I'm not a big sports guy (outside of say Baseball which I love) but I get really giddy about the Olympics for some reason. I love International events and they're pretty much the cream of the crop. I do honestly prefer the summer Olympics over the winter ones, but they're still cool. And yes it is pretty stupid to hate on the Olympics.

not even excited for men's hockey??!?;)
Its too bad the winter olympics arent as big as the summer ones. beiijing 2008 was awesome!

Just wanted to remind you guys once again today I'm working at the casino from 2PM - 11 PM so I won't be answering EMails or anything but the USPS is closed tomorrow anyhow. I will be packing up items and doing DR things tomorrow but the mail won't go out until Tuesday. Thanks! Cya guys soon.

Helluvagood, I'll go do that. Thanks.
I found out about CAG on RFD ages ago, there were definitely posts about it before!
I don't think GFC was specifically mentioned though.

I'm still kinda a little irritated that Arnold got to carrying the torch, not because I hate the guy, but because he was the only non-canadian citizen from my knowledge.

While I will avoid Vancouver like a plague (for being so busy and long lines everywhere), I do enjoy the time off in my city where it's not too bad. Also, I totally get to go to all our local band concerts (and not the free pop-rock ones that would drive me up a wall).

Hey Goomba, do I need to wait for an invoice to pay after submitting a direct request? Or can I just pay, seeing as I know where to pay and all that. I'd assume I can just pay, but there are no payment details that are apparent after submitting a DR. So I'm not sure if you want us to :bouncy:

Actually the news mentioned there were one or two others, just they weren't super famous like Arnie.

There ARE some payment details while setting up a DR. The problem is, Goomba hasn't coded it into the confirmation page, but it IS in one of the pages, including the necessary paypal account - it just isn't the final one, which is weird. I'm always afraid to hit the back button to find it for fear of re-submitting the DR.

Unless you're talking about the final overall invoice price, in which case you can calculate it yourself.

 1. He provides shipping estimates on both the first page of this thread, and on his website, ie. $11 for 2 pounds to Canada. If you live somewhere else, I imagine you'd have to wait for an invoice though.
 2. Then he charges his own fee of $2 for the first item, $1 for every item thereafter.
 3. If an item is worth over $150 or weighs over 5 pounds, there is an extra fee of $5 for that item for every (complete) $150 in value or 5lbs in weight, ie a $299 (or 9lbs) item would carry an additional fee of $5, a $300 (or 10lbs) item would be $10. Only the higher of the two fees are charged, they do not add up. So a 15lb item that costs $900 would carry an additional fee of $30 ($5 for every $150), but you would ignore the $15 fee for the weight.
 4. If the Direct Request requires him to order the item himself, then you must add on the cost of the item. If you are unsure if he pays taxes in Connecticut, go through the ordering processing using a CT address and see if any taxes are added on. If they are, add them to your total to pay Goomba
 5. If instead of that, you pay for the item yourself and forward the package to the address he's given, add $1 per item as this is what UPS charges him to pick up from his mailbox

So let's give 2 examples, applying to Canadians only:
 • Order A consists of 1 item that costs $120, but the deal expires in 10 minutes, giving you no time to request it from Goomba. It weighs 7lbs.
You would order Item A directly from the website where it's being sold, paying $50 to the retailer for the item, and shipping it to the package forwarding address Goomba has provided. You then fill out a direct request form, indicating that you have already bought the item. Once the form is complete, you can then send him $31 for the shipping cost of 7 pounds, $2 for his standard first-item fee, $5 additional fee for the weight because it is greater than 5lbs but less than 10lbs, and $1 for him to pick up the package from UPS. This gives you a total of $39 you can send him over paypal, unless you are using credit card, in which case you use his other paypal account and follow his instructions to increase the payment to include the credit card charge.

 • Order B has two items. Item 1 costs $200 and weighs 4lbs, while item 2 costs $100 and weighs 2lbs. The site only accepts credit card, which you do not have, so you file a direct request for Goomba to order the item himself. Checking ahead of time, you notice the site does not charge sales tax in Connecticut.
You fill the Direct Request form out completely and accurately. You want to get the order going as soon as possible, so you don't bother waiting for an invoice. Obviously, the items are going to cost him $200 + $100 for a total of $300, so you start with that. Since the total weight is 6lbs, you add the shipping cost of $29. He takes his standard fee of $2 for the first item, and $1 for the second item, which is another $3. Both items are under 5 pounds, so neither of them has an additional weight fee, but Item 1 is over $150 (but less than $300), so Item 1 carries an additional $5 fee, while Item 2 has no additional costs. This gives you a total of $337. Keep in mind that, just like in order A, if you are paying by credit card you have to calculate the cost of that on top as well since Goomba doesn't charge nearly enough to be able to eat these fees (he would usually be losing money!)

A few things to remember are that you must cover all Paypal fees yourself and not pass them on to Goomba. I don't know about paying with credit card, but when I pay with my bank account, it includes a checkbox adding about 1% to my total and indicating that Goomba receives the full value of his invoice. Also, ALL prices are in US Dollars, and for orders outside Canada, Goomba not only takes an additional $1 fee, but shipping rates will likely differ, and as he can't list the prices for every single country on his website, if you are outside of Canada you are probably better off just waiting for his invoice.

Besides all that, don't sweat it too much. If you make a big mistake, or weird circumstances happen where the retailer lists a totally improper shipping weight, or the price changes significantly by the time he goes to buy it, Goomba is a pretty honest guy and will refund you any overpayment. But that works both ways... if you don't pay him enough money, he'll send you an additional invoice seeking the balance of the payment before he goes ahead. For all my mailed (non-digital items), I have always done the package forwarding and figured out the cost so that I could send him the money right away without waiting for an invoice.

I know all that emjaymj, I've dealt with Goomba plenty of times... I'm just wondering what he want's/prefers us to do, not what I can do.

And yes Ragnar, you can just pay right away. Goomba rarely invoices me anything (Whatever saves him time... I don't really need the invoice either :p)

If you over pay or under pay, he just refunds you anyway.

Going by personal experience.

Just got home from work guys. Long day with 3-Holidays hitting simultaneously here in the States. I will go through and read as much of your comments/questions as possible. Thanks!

emjaymj, thanks for taking the time to fill out such a long and detailed response :) I do in fact know Ragnar14 as he's ordered from me several times in the past, but I really do appreciate the time and effort you put into typing that up. Appreciate it.

Ragnar14, in all honesty it is easiest to process when I do have a Direct Request filled out, but if you are to PM me/Email me and send a payment that's fine too. As RoganSarine mentioned, if you overpay or underpay for the order I will let you know and will work out the fine details. As you probably know by now, I get quite a few orders and each customer's needs are different but I try to work them out on a one-by-one basis. Just let me know what you want to do :) Thanks!

Hi Goomba I just put in a DR, did not make payment yet cause I was wondering if you still took amazon.com GC that I have earned through swagbucks?

I did have a direct request filled out. But as emjaymj mentioned, your DR page doesn't have payment details on the last step. Which just made me wonder.

Anywho, I just sent payment for that eBay auction I want you to bid on :)

ragnar14, the DR Classic page doesn't have the Paypal payment instructions yet (I'm working on that in an updated version soon) but the new Direct Request service should after you select your payment method. If it is not showing up please let me know. Thanks!

** GFC DR UPDATE [Feedback Wanted] **

I just wanted to let you guys know that over the last ~2 years, I've had a lot of time to think about this and I think I've decided how I will process payments finally. The biggest source of problems/questions/confusion on the GFC site is by far the payment process for Direct Requests. I think I will widdle it down to two simple options:

1) Process payments through Paypal on the website. This is how it is currently processed if you choose the credit card option on DR 2.0 page. The service fee will include all fees/service charges and will immediately give you a chance to check out and make your payment through Paypal. All your information will be automatically entered into the Paypal form and I can process your order as soon as I receive your payment. If any additional funds are needed then I can manually update your order and invoice you via Email as usual.

2) Pre-Pay your items by adding funds to your account ahead of time. CAG members like you guys can make payments to my personal Paypal, send Amazon GC's , etc. and I will have the website keep track of your credit amount. When you go to check out a Direct Request (method #1 above) it will first check to see if you have any store credit, and if you do it will apply that amount to your payment. If any additional funds are still owed then it will give you a chance to check out with Method #1.

The beauty of this is that there will be only one real payment method and you can still avoid Paypal fees by pre-paying or adding money to your account, but it won't be an issue to new members or casual buyers on the site. What do you guys think? Doing it this way will make it much easier for you to see what your credit is with my site and will be a lot easier to process the Rewards System. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

I thought you already planned to implement something like that a month or two back? As I said back then, I love the idea :p Especially the pre-pay thing... because... well... It's what I've been doing most of the time for the last little while!

Ditto on pre-paying being a good idea. I have some funds sitting in my Paypal account right now, and it would be a shame to just blow them on eBay. Seeing as I can save some credit card fees if I could just deposit them into the Bank of Goomba for when I need them :)

Well, I had said that I'd be moving toward a system like that but the one I have in mind is a bit more strict than originally planned. It's sort of an all-or-nothing system. Either go through the website as usual and pay the fees or you can prepay for your items in the system and get a discount on them pretty much. I think it's a fair system though.

I will explain the system more in detail at the end of the month probably. It'll take me a few weeks to actually implement it on the website. Thanks!

curious question how does one set up swagbuck?
do i create an account with canada info or usa info is best?
for goomba to apply on with DR?

Thanks for answer a noob question hohooo~

also btw got any swagcode?

Canada and US are the same... Just use your Canada stuff. Fill out the sign up form, and do searches on it instead of google.

Swagcode doesn't need to be used on sign up.

And if you're going to sign up then you mind as well use one of the referals that most people here have in their signatures (doesn't have to be mine but it would be nice :)). You'll get them swagbucks when you get them up to a max of 100. Also keep an eye on http://www.sc-s.com/ or http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1291711 for new codes every day.

Swagbucks are really easy and no I don't have any swag codes right now, but they're not totally necessary either. You get so many of them just using searches and such and if you refer more friends all the better. You are more than welcome to use my referal as well :) Thanks for the question! I think you'll like the service, it's an awesome way to earn Amazon Gift Cards and you can use those 1:1 in our GFC store for our services :)

You're very welcome kinun :) I try my best to make everyone happy. Doesn't always happen, but I do try! I'm snowed in today again so I'm just trying to play catch up with some of my new customers and such. Thanks again for your support!

Just so you guys know, we had another semi-big snowstorm today so I didn't make it to the UPS store (my car sucks in the snow, trust me) but I'm hopefully going first thing in the morning tomorrow. So I'll be picking up the newest batch of UPS orders and getting more of your DR's shipped out. Thanks!
