GFC is Back in Business! Worldwide Package Forwarding & Item Ordering Services ^_^.

1) Direct Request (DR) Services - The service that started it all, our Direct Request (DR) Service allows you to buy just about anything you want from the USA and have us order it and ship it directly to you. This is perfect for those of you who are unable to buy from USA merchants that will not ship to Canada directly or who do not accept Canadian/International credit cards. We charge $2.00 per item ordered plus shipping. Additional fees apply for items weighing more than 5 pounds shipped or more than $150 USD in value. Our online form will calculate everything for you automatically and there's no obligation to buy anything until you check out with Paypal. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about our services.

2) Package Forwarding (PF) Services, Address & Rates - [PREMIUM SERVICE] If you want to order the items yourself, you can! You can order from any website that ships to the USA. Ship the items to our secure UPS mail box and we will repackage them and ship them to you in Canada (or any other country for that matter). Typical fees apply for this service as usual and you pay only $1.00 per package received at our mail location. Quick, easy and GREAT for limited-time sales when the Direct Request option may not be quick enough. Please note we cannot ship: meat, cigarettes or other nicotine items (including electronic cigarettes and their accessories), alcohol, weapons or gun accessories (including paintball/airsoft), pornographic materials, toxic chemicals (including several cleaning liquids), fertilizer or any items that are illegal to ship internationally. Also, any items containing NI-CD or LI-Ion Batteries can no longer be shipped via USPS (Laptops, cell phones, handheld game systems, etc.) and must be shipped via UPS instead. If you have questions about a particular item, please contact us first before ordering.  You will receive an Email invoice with PDF attachment explaining line-by-line details of all charges and full payment options. GFC PF Service Requires Premium Membership which costs $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year (discount of two free months) and is available in our GFC Store. Full details on website.

3) GYROS Updates - After you have ordered your items, filled out the forms and notified us of your order we will add your items to our GYROS page (generally within a week or less). Once your items have been received, we will invoice you for the shipping costs + our service charge. After receiving your payment, your items will be shipped out to you in a timely manner and you will receive an Email with all relevant shipping information ^_^. Service Charges (Free Members):

GFC Charges $2.00 per item forwarded for standard or "Free" Members. Please note that an item in this case refers to each item within the packages you ship to us. So if you were to order say 2 DVD Movies, an Umbrella and a Towel, this would count as 4 items total. Items that are sold in "Lots" such as multiple baseball cards will be counted as one item, subject to our discretion. Also, UPS Charges me to pick up the packages, so there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per package received. I will add into the invoice for you when I get your iitems in.

For larger orders, an extra $5.00 USD surcharge is added for each 5 pounds your package weighs OR per $150 in value of their total contents (example: a 5 pound package would cost an additional $5.00 USD, a 10 pound package would cost an additional $10.00 USD OR a $150 item (or group of items totaling $150 or more) would have an additional $5.00 USD charged, a $300 group of items would have an additional $10.00 USD charged). Please note that this will be either a weight or cost surcharge and not both, but the greater of the two will be what is charged. An item weighing 14 pounds will still only be $10 added as it didn't yet reach the 15 pound mark. This will be shown on your invoice and will be clearly explained. In the near future, this service charge will be automatically calculated for package forwarding items the way it is currently automatically calculated on our Direct Request 2.0 system.

So Again the things to remember:

1) Ship to the address above
2) Ship all packages in my name (James Parks) and if you want to include your information as a “Gift Message” on the order, you certainly can do that. This is required though to be in my name as the UPS store will only sign for packages in my name and will refuse all others.
3) You MUST fill out the Direct Request (DR) form on the link above to let me know what’s coming
4) Once I receive your DR submission and all your items, I will invoice you for the shipping cost plus service fees.


Service Charges (GFC Premium):

The following are shipping estimates for standards weights. This will give you a pretty good idea of how much it will cost to ship your item to Canada. If you live in another country, feel free to inquire by contacting us directly.

For all items from 0 - 4 pounds we typically use USPS First Class Mail:

$00.00 = 0 Pounds / Digital Items
$09.00 = 6 ounces
$09.00 = 7 ounces
$09.50 = 12 ounces
$11.00 = 1 Pound
$16.50 = 2 Pounds
$22.00 = 3 Pounds
$27.50 = 4 Pounds

For all items from 5 pounds and up we typically use USPS Priority Mail:

$38.00 = 5 Pounds
$40.00 = 6 Pounds
$42.50 = 7 Pounds
$45.00 = 8 Pounds
$47.50 = 9 Pounds
$49.50 = 10 Pounds
$52.00 = 11 Pounds
$54.50 = 12 Pounds
$57.50 = 13 Pounds
$55.00 = 14 Pounds
$62.50 = 15 Pounds
$60.00 = 16 Pounds
$63.00 = 17 Pounds
$70.00 = 18 Pounds
$72.50 = 19 Pounds
$75.00 = 20 Pounds
$77.50 = 21 Pounds
$80.00 = 22 Pounds
$83.00 = 23 Pounds
$85.50 = 24 Pounds
$88.00 = 25 Pounds

For any items over 25 pounds, we'll have to manually invoice you.

On Hold & Unclaimed Merchandise:

GFC allows you to send items to our secure UPS Package Forwarding address (listed above). After you order your items it is your responsibility to properly fill out our Package Forwarding (PF) Form on our website located here: http://www.gamesforcanada.com/package-forwarding.php . Once you do this, we will be notified of the items you have ordered and you will pre-pay the shipping/service charges up front for us to process and re-ship them to you.

The first 30 days are free to hold all Package Forwarding items.This is plenty of time for you to successfully order from the various stores that you want and submit our PF form to notify us. This also allows for adequate time for you to request us to combine items into a single package.

After 30 days, there will be a $5.00 USD charge per ITEM per week (flat rate fee) until the payment has been paid in full. Since you are pre-paying for the item costs, you will be responsible for both shipping to your country, our GFC Service Charges and any processing fees associated with the transaction.

After 90 days, GFC will not be responsible for unclaimed or missing merchandise sent to us at our Package Forwarding address. We suggest that you fully insure all orders sent to our address in case of loss or damage as we will not be responsible for missing or damaged goods.

The site host update is complete now and the GFC website is back to normal guys ^_^ Sorry for the temporary downage. Everything should be smooth sailing now.

I am receiving Emails no problem but a few people have mentioned they didn't get my responses. I had a host update with Host Gator this week which seemed to back up some mails, but that should be resolved by now. Feel free to email me at my Gmail in the meantime if you haven't heard from me on my normal Emails.

** GFC PREMIUM BETA DETAILS **

OK guys, here it is. All of the information you need on the GFC Premium BETA program. I finished the majority of the coding today and will be launching the official BETA on Monday. This is how it's going to work:

1) I will post a link here and only here for the first week or two. The page listed will not be available on the website to those out of the loop, because I want to make sure it launches without any bugs.

2) The link here will allow you to sign up with one of two options: $10 USD for one month premium membership or $100 USD for one year premium membership (essentially giving you two months free).

3) In order to be a premium member you will need to be logged into the site when you purchase it and your premium membership will be applied immediately to your account. The membership will last as long as you sign up for. At the moment we will only allow for one a maximum one year membership but may extend that in the future.

4) As a premium member you will only pay $1.00 for the individual item service charges instead of the normal $2.00. You will still have to pay for weight/value surcharges but you will have an option to wave the shipping buffer.

5) In addition as a premium member you be able to pre-load Canuck Bucks/Service Charge Credits directly on the site which will minimize any handling charges. In March once the site launches the program officially you will also have an option to add Amazon Gift Cards to your account for use on the site.

This is all very early on, but again I'll be posting an official BETA link on Monday in this thread. If you'd like to join, we'd be happy to have you :). If not, then don't worry the site will work exactly the same as it does now. We appreciate your support ^_^

** GFC PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM STARTS NOW **

OK guys, nothing too fancy yet as this is a BETA but I'm happy to say that our GFC Premium Membership program has officially started as of today. If you'd like to try it out, just head on over to our GFC Store to this custom item (sorry for the lack of style lol, I'll make it look better on the real site) and buy a one month subscription for $10.00. The discounts are listed in the product description and we'll be adding new benefits to it very soon. If you buy several items a month you'll save quite a bit with this program. Please let us know if you have any issues with ordering.

I successfully added in the Premium Discount to GFC Package Forwarding orders now, which should work. If you sign up for Premium and don't see the discount, please let me know. Just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't had much support in the BETA of the GFC Premium Membership yet. I've had a lot of people say they were interested but outside of one or two members nobody has come through. I guess I'm just going to have to launch it officially on the site at the end of the month without a BETA program, which is fine, but just giving you a heads up. I still believe the program is a good balance though to support regular customers with a perk for supporting the site, while also allowing for a little up-front revenue to keep the site running smoothly.

The truth is GFC is really a labor of love for me as technically speaking I haven't turned a profit in the 4 years I've been doing it. That's not an issue for me in the meantime because there's definitely a lot of potential revenue and growth in the business model, but unless I can seriously ramp up my customer base or branch off with some alternative revenue streams, I'm looking to break even at best with my current services.
 
Awesome ^_^ So glad things are moving along in the delivery department. I'm working a lot on our new area in our office (new bookshelves, cases and lots and lots of organizing units) so I'm working as hard as I can to expedite the shipping process. Hey Guys, just wanted to let you know I am working 8 days straight at my "day job" so I won't have a lot of time to Email back and forth. Yes, still working with the Uniqlo proxy (a third party company doing this locally in NYC that overnights to me here in CT). I'm spending the next 3 hours or so doing DR/PF updates, a full GYROS update and packing of many items. Tomorrow I'll spend quite a few hours packing as well. Thanks guys!

I'm going to be temporarily removing the GFC Forums that we had on the site due to the fact that the client is pretty buggy and easily taken over by spammers (they really ruin everything, don't they?). Instead I'll simply be linking to this thread here. So if you click the "GFC Forums" button on the site and end up here, now you know why :) Thanks guys.

Also, I'm officially launching GFC Premium next month so anyone that took part in the BETA, I appreciate it. I didn't get a whole lot of support, but that's alright because I think once it's on the website and clearly explained it'll be easier to access and to understand. I'll be working on some logos, site descriptions and signup pages over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime I'll focus on shipping out existing orders and cleaning up some other site code. The email was just me being confused about the shipping cost for what you shipped to the hotel for me. I kind of understand why it cost so much due to the weight of the books, but I felt it probably could have been cheaper if you'd have just used a couple of priority mail flat rate boxes instead.

I just wasn't expecting you to have to spend $40-$50 on shipping, I was hoping for you to at least have $30+ left in credit after you shipped that stuff to me. I guess the money I'm thinking is missing is from service charges and not from shipping?

I guess not having a breakdown of the costs involved just made me confused about where all the money went. (Since you don't really send me invoices anymore =p) I just wanted some clarification, I'm not upset or anything, was just confused.

In other news, Lego is on sale at TRU. Not sure if you'd be able to stop by a store to pick some up for me or not? Or if your schedule is too busy over the next week?
 
gsrce, yeah sorry about that. I haven't had a need to invoice you recently because you had extra funds left over but the flat rate boxes would have been too small to ship all of your items and you would have end up paying the same if not more for multiple boxes. Due to the time restraint on your trip I wanted to make sure they got there on time for you as well. But yeah, I can still compile the invoices for your records if you like. Sorry about that. As for TRU, this week is super crazy for me and next week too but if they do online sales as well I can try for you. I have "ShopRunner" which gives me free shipping on a lot of TRU items on their site.

OK I'll try to have it out today. If I can't make the cut off due to working hours I'll have it out tomorrow. I'm going to look into a new Email system since so many people are having issues with it still. I guess that can be part of my April site update as well. Thanks for the heads up!
