GameStop - 10% off (20% w/EDGE) used 360 games this weekend - 10/10 - 10/12

I just got back from my local GameStop and saw signs for 10% off all used XBOX 360 games for this weekend (10/10 - 10/12). As usual, the EDGE card discount can be stacked on top of this sale, making the discount 20%. I didn't see this posted yet and wanted to pass it on.

It's listed on GS.com, so it's a nation-wide deal. Not epic, but still, it would be nice if they just started throwing out some random deals like this.
 
If the 10% would stack with the Cellfire coupon, it wouldn't be too shabby, though I'm doubting they stack. 40% off 360 titles without any kind of stipulation (closest you get to that is during a B2G1 where you have to get 3 titles) seems a bit too good to hope for.

It is too good to hope for. Promos never stack at GS...ever. The PoS only allows for one promo and the EDGE per transaction. The only way to get two promos is via a manual override, and that rarely happens. Usually, a good way to get one is to pre-order stuff and get an EDGE card, if you don't already have one. Even then, it's not guaranteed, but it gives you a shot.
 
The 10% in store is nice, but for online bargain hunters like me it's still the EDGE + SAVER + CAG16 deal.

True. It's unfortunate so many games aren't available online.

Yeah, that's what I usually do to get promos to stack, though it never works for me when I'm buying things, only trading in. For example, last week's 20% coupon and Cellfire...no way in Hell, but the $10 for 2 and 30% bonus credit for reservation of Guitar Hero...a bit more plausible.

True, true. :lol: But you can always return them to any GS store. The only issue is that they don't refund S&H, but if you use SAVER, but that's not a problem, either.

Heck, with some of the driving you might need to do to find a replacement copy of the game in-store, you might spend as much as that 6% saves you in gas.

Enter the code CAG16 in the little box when using gamestop.com checkout and it gets you 16% off used titles. Basically CAG16 + SAVER + EDGE gets you free shipping and 26% off. It's not a bad deal if some stuff isn't around you. I ordered 2 copies of Luxor off there today for roughly $20.

I'm guessing SAVER gives free shipping? And could I have used Buy 2 get 1 free in addition to CAG16, SAVER and EDGE?

Yeah, SAVER is free shipping on orders initially over $25 (so before CAG16/EDGE) and I'm not sure about CAG16 when they were running the B2G1...I wish I had thought of that.

Well, I wasn't so much talking about exchanges than I was about straight returns, so you could just do that at your closest stores. But yeah, if you were looking to exchange it for another copy, that could be a big hassle.

Also what struck me the most was when i was browsing around the used Xbox 360 section, I noticed 2 copies of Fracture already used? I didn't quite understand.. That game just game out this week?

Having played the game at a friends house, I can understand. I was going to try to find a used copy myself until I actually played it. Definitely not a tier 1 title. Worth only $20 in my mind.

That's a pretty common thing, actually. If you follow the GS coupon threads, you'll see that a lot of us get the newest games used all the time. I'd say in the last year or so, I've gotten about a dozen used games that had just came out in the last week. But hey, we benefit from the stupidity of others.

Thanks for the heads up.

Way to many games I want that are due to come out to waste any cash.

I was thinking this was a title to wait for a massive price drop anyway.
