So, anyone else angry that Gamestop.com no longer let's you use CAG16 and PowerUp discount?

It's either one or the other now.

I still shopped there for awhile because the codes actually stacked, and now that they don't, it's just not worth it anymore dealing with the crappy quality games that arrive.

And anyone else notice no more free shipping too? That new one that says order 2 or more items for free shipping, doesn't even work, but it may get fixed eventually, but I no care no more.

Gamestop, you have officially lost any interest I have left ordering online from you.
 
CAG16 and my Edge card that expired 7 months ago still stacks just fine, I just checked.

Seems like they just screwed the Power Up rewards people.

They should call it a Power Down rewards card, lol. It seems like when I return stuff (usually because of condition issues, or to make a local B2G1) I'm penalized twice as many points as what I was awarded.

Are you sure your account has been correctly linked from your online purchases?

I was having that same problem too at first, cause I bought stuff that was never rewarded points on, and then when I return, I lost the points I never got, so you should be careful on that. :p

Probably not, it's not a big deal though because of how much they get raped and pillaged other ways.

It was funny though, one time I went in and asked them if I could buy a giftcard using GS credit and they were like "No, we cannot do that", but when I return games from online orders using credit it's like "We can't put the credit back on your power-up card due to tax reasons, here's your credit on a giftcard." Lol, so it amounts to that I can get giftcards using credit, but only when I don't want them. Gamestop is one brilliant cat ;)

There's also been times were they didn't give me my 10% edge off on an order, but then (before that) I think they gave me back some extra credit on the Digital Devil Saga 2 deal. It's like they must have one drunken Kali Karma goddess at the center of their computer system.
 
Not really angry about CAG16 since I shop more through Brick and Mortar stores. I'm angrier with the pitching of used DS cases and manuals. Though I can see why the uproar over CAG16 not stacking.

I have the hardest time finding DS games with cases even on sites like Amazon lately - I can understand when someone doesn't keep those SNES/GBA/N64/Genesis (well, the later games) cardboard cases, but it seems ridiculous to throw away the 'permanent' ones. Hate it.

Anyway, glad to see I'm not the only one who's having so many problems with Gamestop and their discounts. I just need to get a working copy of Beyond Good & Evil and Pikmin 2, then I'll have just about anything I want from them.
 
After seeing every single GS online-deal thread filled to the brim with people complaining about their shipments being in crap condition/broken, I vowed never to order used items from the website.

That said, I'm just peeved because it seems they took down the '$5/10 off USED game' coupons from the rewards catalog. I even contacted their CS email, but got a canned response almost immediately.

My guess is that they removed those entirely, and it looks like they reworded the 'new game' version to just state 'any purchase'. Absolutely aggrivating, because I JUST earned enough points for one of the $10 coupons (which used to be 8000pts, now the '$10 off any' one is 10000:bomb:)

I'd like to know if anyone else with a PUR account can also confirm this, or if I'm just completely missing something.
 
Wow. I can't believe they removed the 4,000/8,000 (USED) versions. :cry: I guess I am lucky I just redeemed one about 2 weeks ago. Just another reason I won't pay for their $15 Powerup card. I will just stick with the free one.

That's actually not out of the ordinary, as they take those down on and off for some odd reason.

And they run out of stock of them sometimes too, which doesn't even make sense, but whatever.

They also only take down the used coupons here and there, but always leaves the coupons for new up.

If it doesn't come back in the next few weeks though, then I'd be a little worried and probably angry, but for now, I'm not too worried about it since it's happened in the past before when I wanted to get the coupons but they were there or sold out.
 
Well at least there's a precedent for them removing them, I've heard of online retailers running out of codes for stuff like that in the past.

Oh well, C'est la vie?

I might just bite the bullet and get the 'new' $5 one, since my local GS has a used copy of Tactics Ogre that I've been eyeing.
