So after last weeks craptacular deal, we have a winner from GameStop.

They are running a Buy 2 Get 1 Free, which is always a good deal, but combine that with your gamestop card, and the additional 10% off coupon in this months Game Informer, for a very good deal.

Isn't this the exact same as before? Buy 2 over $29.99 get 1 free under $29.99?

I thought that is what it was before. Anyways is there one going on in the stores also?

I think this is in store, this time.

Nothing I want at Gamestop that I didn't get cheaper brand new in the last month or two.

This is somewhat great... does it combine with both More card and the 10% off coupon in Game Informer?

I just typed this to my friend on IM in regards to said coupon a minute before refreshing CAG: "Riviera got jacked up to 24.99, so it looks like that will be resigned to the next B2G1F with Super Mario Advance 3."

Yes, I'm omniscient. Now I just need to find another 24.99 game or scrap that idea and just get some cheapies (Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, etc)

Thats my understanding, you can combine with the discount card and the magazine coupon.

You need to be careful with Riviera used... all the bonuses that were unlocked through someone else's playthrough stay unlocked with no way to delete them.

lets see

3 44.99 games = 134.97 x .25 (ebgames) = 101.23 /3 = 33.74

gamestop

3 44.99 games (buy 2 get 1) 89.98 x.20 = 71.98/3 = 23.99

wouldnt be bad if you could find some major games

wonder what 3 DS games would be

3 24.99 games = 49.98 - 20% === 39.98 /3 = 13.28 each

this could be a great deal if you could find 3 good ds games

advance wars
animal crossing
mario ds

those would be super buys

Understood.

Better question: I just bought three games yesterday (9.99, 9.99, 8.99)... will any employee refund me the 8.99 with this deal going on now? I've been allowed to return a used game 10 days after purchase (3 days outside the window), so I'm hoping an equally lenient employee might make me a happy repeat customer.

Wow we think almost exactly alike, I was going to pick up Animal Crossing, Mario Time Something, and Populopuos, and maybe some GC games such as Jungle Beat.

Ugh, I wish I had that stupid coupon, my damn GI never comes anymore...

If anyone actually found a store that had Animal Crossing: WW in stock I would be shocked.

4 stores, actually ;) Try zipcode 44214.

I actually wish PoP DS was in stock used somewhere, no way I'm paying $40 for that.

Do we know how long this deal is running?

Thanks for the post OP. I do believe it is time to buy Castlevania DS, and quite possible Animal Crossing WW as well.

I may have missed this somewhere in the OP but - is this for new games or used games or both or what?

thanks

I always thought Gamestop's B2G1 Free deals apply regardless of price or system. So its not restricted to 29.99 and up games and you can get any game free, so long as its less than or equal to the purchase price of the other 2 games.

And yes, these sales are good with used XBOX 360 games, if you can find any. At the last sale in December, I picked up King Kong, Gun and Condemned. With my discount card, I ended up paying around $30/game. Not a bad deal at all.
called on the deal and it is good until saturday. i also called EB and they had no idea about it, so does anyone think they too will have this deal?
OK i have about 3 ebgames near me and no gamestops near me, i will call my ebgames as well and hope to hell that they run it as well.

The last time gamestop did this deal was black friday(i think) and it was BOTH ebgames and gamestop.

i actually like the buy 1 game, get second game of equal or lesser value at 50% off, since i only have to find 2 games that i want that are the same price instead of 3, tho if you can find 3 games that you want it is most definitely a better deal

There are some dvd sets i will try to get(sopranos season 5 and a few others) but i doubt i will want to be picking up any games.

Good deal... I might pick up Grandia II now.

The only problem is finding two other similarly priced games ($12.99) to maximize the savings.

you know, i think i might have to pick up some GH games on the cheap(i want to pick up battlefront again, maybe a few others)

there are usually decent stock of older games at eb/gamestop so that may just be the best of both worlds(maybe) since you are buying loads of cheap games.

It's funny that you have 4 by 44214, but I don't have any within 20 miles of 44221. I guess Clevelanders don't find the joy in (taken from GS item description):

* Fishing.
* Decorating one's home.
* Talking to the animal villagers.
* Doing errands for the villagers.
* Visiting the Island.
* Catching bugs.
* Paying off the loan on your house.
* Collecting furniture.
* Making clothing for your character

This game reminds of the Gamefly commercial.

The coupon is not good with the B2G1, we got an email today saying that.

Sucks, still works on the DVDs though, but not when you buy games and or accessories.

Yeah, I just asked about that. Stacks with discount card, not with coupon.

But I'm happy, I got Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy adjusted to free after buying Kuon and Echo Night last night (manager was in a good mood today)

Yep, I picked up some trade fodder today. I don't have the card though....$15 for the card seemed kinda high, but I guess you get Game Informer magazine with it...right. I don't buy enough used games though to really take advantage of it. I wish I would've, but oh well....maybe another time.

I just called another store and they said it was buy 2 get 1 free.
Then i called another and they said it was buy 2 get 1 free.

So the first one must have told me wrong.

This sale goes until Saturday?

Does it work on used systems? I remember the last one they had did include systems (if i remember correctly)
I said in the other thread, the B3G1 which was later reported false that the coupon is YMMV. Some will use it, others won't.
Well, there's nothing I want at my local GS, so if I decide to go out east a bit, I'll try my luck with the coupon there (as slidecage mentioned before, three 24.99 games would end up being $13.xx a piece).

I stopped by GS today and it's running the B2G1 deal. The store ppl told me it'll last till this Saturday. Also, they didn't allow me to combine the additional 10% off coupon for this deal...oh well.....

Nope, buy 2 get 1 free.

I bought a mint PS2 Gitaroo Man ($39.99), GC Gauntlet Dark Legacy ($24.99), got my 10% off those prices (so $6.50 less for a $58.48 total plus tax) and received for free a PS2 Katamari Damacy($18).

Not too bad for $60. Two more off of my "uncommon/hard to find list" - though Gitaroo Man may not qualify for that no more after the reprint it seems to be everywhere. Wasn't too long ago the Gitaroo Man would have cost alot more than that by itself. Though it is mint like most "new" or "nearly new" games at EB/GS the wrapper was gone - it is a copy that came from corporate so I'm sure its one of the reprints but still not a bad buy. I would have never paid $80 for it.

Ah, I was waiting for something like this to happen. I bought 2 used games at GS last week; today I dropped by and showed them the receipt and ended getting another 44.99 used game for free.

Damn, they'll do that? I wonder.....

If so, they probably owe me around 10 or so $9.99 games! :)

Hmmm....

If you bought them within last week or within that 10 days return policy then yes, take the receipts back and get your free games man.

Hmm....I'll give it a try! Nothing to loose. I wonder if they show that I have say 8 $9.99 games coming they'll let me have that credit or I have to take 8 $9.99 games (like they have that many $9.99 games I want). We shall see.

Now it's a race - my tax refund is being processed direct deposit - the sale ends Saturday - who will win?

Let's just say that if that tax money hits, Gamestop is going to regret marking those new copies of Gitaroo Man as used! I'll be getting one of those and a few DS games (they had a used Kirby last time I was in).

I apologize if this was mentioned before, but I did not see a clear explantion in previous threads. Is this sale for used games only, or does it also include new games?

Thanks

more GR fodder? I too went last night and picked up a Kuon and ENB. Saw the sign and picked up ncaa 05 free (friend paying me $10 for it, sweet). Traded the 2 games at GR later that night. Wierd thing is, this was at the lincoln store in Riverside, the manager who was holding my games asked "what is going on, someone called in after you did about these 2 games" since he only had one copy each, i didnt say squat and paid for my games. i asked if he could throw in the black demo, but i got the hard sell to preorder any game if i wanted the freebie.

Haha... luckily I think I'm the only CAG-GR patron here, other than the GR manager. So at least they don't get flooded with multiple people maxing out these games.

Picked up Radiata Stories, Stella Deus and X-Men Legends II for $46.47 total after 10% off for Gamestop card and an additional 10% for the Game Informer coupon.

I was all set to get Radiata Stories for $29.99 with the recent price drop, but I thought I'd check out the B2G1 sale first. They actually had 3 games that I wanted. Sweet.
