Gamestop B2G1 from Powerup question

I want to get 3 copies of Front Mission Evolved, a mix of PS3 and 360.

Various stores around me have at least one copy for either 360 or PS3, but none have both platforms in stock.

If I was to buy 3 $17.99 used games with my coupon, would I be able to use the 7 day return period to return the one or two filler games at other stores in order to pick up another copy or two of FME without issue?

Why not just buy the 1-2 copies of FME from the seperate stores with them on the same day, then take them into the store with the last copy, return them and then use your B2G1 coupon right then and there to get all three copies?

At least in that way you don't have to rely on what is at best a YMMV prospect of them allowing you to swap out the 'filler' or 'placeholder' games for the ones you want(aka the copies of FME).
