What did you guys pick up now that this is back for DVDs?

Mine had Buy 2 Get 1 Free and 2 for $10 so I got 12 DVD's and the GameInformer subscription for $53. I picked up:

The Mask, Bruce Almighty, Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, Ernest Goes To Jail, Blind Date, The Incredible Hulk, The Core, Suburban Commando, Airheads, Godzilla, and Eight Legged Freaks.

yeah only for DVDs and i'm not sure how long its for... it just popped up again yesterday
 
Excellent! I get paid tomorrow, and was planning on hitting a GS or two anyway, but I was really hoping for a B2G1 sale after I missed the last one. On DVDs is just fine with me, since that's what I'm looking for anyway.

And some solid finds there, OP. Congrats.
 
My Gamestop has two of the three Lord of the Rings SE for $17.99 each. I would have jumped on it if they have all three there...

It's still a pretty good deal though.

No, movies $5.99 and under are 2 for $10. Some Gamestops will allow you to combine the offers (getting 3 for $10), but some will force you to pay full sticker on the more expensive two if doing the B2G1.

He must have meant that he paid that much after getting a discount with Value Card but it still would be about 60 bucks not 54

Not much of a problem for me, as now I can easily compare the two releases in which is really better A/V wise. Extras wise the new edition obviously is going to be better, but the old edition still has some good stuff (most of it is being carried over however).

I'm not too happy with it being a dual sided dual layer disc. I'd much rather have it be a 2 disc edition, but what can I do right?

Thanks for the link. Sounds like the only thing that is getting lost is the optional angle on the commentary track. Still, I can see your point about comparing the two versions first hand.

The deleted scenes are seperate on the original version, as opposed to it sounds like the extended cut now has them most likely in the film itself as that version is on the second side of the disc. At least I can assume they are put in, unlike the "extended" cut of "Meet The Fockers" which was nothing more than cutting back and forth (and pausing inbetween) the main film itself and the deleted scenes that are on the disc seperately.

wow criterion fear and loathing, I am jealous. I cannot find anything at my local GS or EBs just crappy mass-sold movies like Spiderman, although I did pick up Bad Boys Superbit, Mystic River 3-disc set, and Field of Dreams 2-disc anniversary for $20 the other day at an EB in another state.
 
My GS has The Sopranos seaon 1 and 2 and The Godfather Trilogy for $40 each and they all complete and in excellent space. Too bad I don't have the $80 to pick up all three...

I talked to an employee at one of the EBs ( Who is doing hte sale as well) and he said that it had two start up dates and stop dates but they have been leaving it up the whole time. He also said that they where going to leave it up for awhile. i dont know how long it will last but get in on it while you still can.

Total Price - 19.86. I love this deal.

It also seems that they have become picky on their dvds. The stickers peel off easily and leave no marks and all my disks were absolutely perfect. They look new.
 
You folks have far better Gamestops then I do, since I stopped by the one by my work and didn't see much at all outside of Wrestlemania 21 (which I own already). Tho I did stop by the CD Warehouse a few doors down and found:

I also saw a copy of the 2 disc Citizen Kane there for 13.99. If its still there next time I swing by I'll have to grab it (as I've been wanting to get that for a LONG time).
