Gamestop.com 25% Off Used Games

I've gotten with and without manuals/artwork, and I've gotten them working and non-working.

I have no idea if it's true, but I honsetly believe their online stock comes mostly (rare games at least) from games that are sent in to be resurfaced and I'm thinking they probably just go with the odds that only 1 out of 10 won't work after being resurfaced (in other words, I seriously doubt they test them).

Does anybody know if you can return items from gamestop.com to one of the stores? I'm thinking about taking a chance on a used game, in the hopes that it'll save me from going out in the psychopathic holiday crowds. I just want to know I can return it if they send me a steaming pile of crap. Thanks.

QFT. We don't need a new thread every week for this "deal". This is only useful if you want to take a gamble on a game that you can't find in-store. And even then, it is better to use free shipping (SAVER), because if you get a game that's in poor condition, you can return it to the store and get your money back. However, if you use this coupon and need to return the game you bought to the store, they won't refund you the cost of shipping - they'll just refund you the discounted amount of the game.

That's actually good to know. Guess that means you can return in store then. Maybe I'll take the gamble, but just use the SAVER code then. Thanks.

I know, what's up with that... I wish they would update their stock

But crunchb3rry, some of those discs aren't scratched, but rather soaked in some indeterminate matter before being allowed to dry, THEN traded in and pawned off on some other sucker. I have to always question WTFH people who traded in those games did to them before trading them.

I honestly wish someone would find a way to sue GS that would make them lose their ability to take in games, thus shutting down one of their most profitable revenue streams.

Plus, any 'rare' games I might wanna snag from this 'sale' are almost always sold out online and if they weren't, I would receive the aforementioned garbage condition discs with no manual/artwork/case.

They don't need to lose the ability to take trade-ins. Just to have the balls to refuse a poor quality copy and say "Tough shit." to the any customer that wants to argue about it. After they adopt that mentality, it's just a matter of requiring the packaging and manual. Then there's three requirements to be able to trade your game in, and as a bonus Gamestop would gain some sorely needed consumer confidence.

What are good games for a New Xbxo 360 owner to pick up? I already bought Mass Effect and Halo 3.

Also, I own a PS3 so i have COD4 and all those on PS3. I was looking into Gears, Dead rising, and Rainbow Six but, i cant really find good deals on them anywhere.

True, but in order for that to happen, it would require all the soccer moms and their bratty kids to stop shopping there and giving them so much of that disposable income that GS Corp loves.

The trade off is unequalled though, since the soccer moms and their kids will still spend good money on top of the crap trade values they get for those shit condition games they trade, so they'd rather put up with the bad condition games than risk losing their best customer stream.

Now, if more hardcore gamers actually went there and bitched about the shit condition and the company actually gave a shit, we might see some action in the direction of getting better condition stuff.

Although, I will say that if you check the condition of the games you're buying from them, there ARE good and sometimes MINT condition games to be found. You just have to LOOK.

On the other hand, FYE is almost always great for perfect/near perfect games, which is why I go to their stores more often.

I remember the time I bought from GS.com. I bought 7 or 8 games, all fairly new (not brand new) titles. Every single one - except one - was disc only and scratched to shit, the other was scratched to shit with a manual.

I always used to ask to inspect the games I bought at Gamestop. Every damn time the manager gives me this annoyed look...like I'm supposed to just buy used shit on blind faith.

I stopped shopping there. I refuse to support their brick & mortar operations and will only use their online site for preorders on items I expect to be sold out for a good couple days when they launch.
