Well, after the ordeal that was the used Guitar Hero for $40 via barnesandnoble.com, I did the entire return process. I was fed up enough at this point, let alone that it took 3 e-mails and over 2.5 weeks for them to give me a refund.

At this point, however, I've realized that they refund me some 43.xx, which is about 3 bucks less than 46.xx that I paid.

Is that normal? Are they taking money out to cover some sort of fee, or are they just skimming a bit for their own reasons? Is it not covering tax, shipping, or both? 3 bucks, yea, oh well. But still, seems shady. I just want to know if it's normal to not get your full amount back.

I'm not really in the mood or have the energy to go any further with their shitty service, and instead I think I'm just going to stop ordering from their online component altogether. The advent of pre-order issues and not getting bonus materials is also alarming to some extent, strengthening my resolve and mentality.

I hate the fact that GS and EB joined forces. Now we can look forward to this bullshit forever since they have little competition (in terms of used game markets).

It could be shipping, I suppose their value shipping is 2.99? I'm not familiar with your situation, but generally online stores do not refund shipping unless the item they sent to you was not the item you ordered; not sure what they do if its defective.

Well, the deal here was bn.com showed Guitar Hero used with guitar for 40. It said it shipped through GS.com. GS.com had the game only used for 40, an idea so retarded that it bends the fabric of space around it.

So anyone who ordered through BN.com -> GS.com, subsequently didn't get the guitar.

Item wasn't defective, it simply wasn't what was described. GS blamed BN, BN blamed GS, etc.

The thread was started by I AM WILLIAM H. MACY and said something like "A few nice deals (guitar hero complete for $40!)" or something like that.

Ah, yeah, I kinda recall that. I'm guessing that was the case, that they just kept the shipping. You could probably bitch and get it back, but the time and annoyance in that probably isn't worth it.

You're not alone. I too, was caught up in the gamestop-Guitar Hero fiasco. I ended up losing about $12 on the whole mess. My biggest mistake was paying $6.99 for the 2nd day delivery. They didn't even ship the bloody thing until four days after I ordered it. So that, plus the $5 it cost me to send it back was non-refundable in gamestop's eyes. This was so obviously a mistake on their part, I shouldn't have to pay for anything. Problem is, they're the only game in town and they know it.

Feels both good and bad at the same time when I hear about this happening to others.

Wish there was a way to get some widespread attention, but I can't really think of any that could be implemented easily and/or legally. :/
