Gamestop credit and tax

CAGiversary!
Yea, yea, another gamestop thread right?

Anyways, can anyone clear up gamestop's policy on tax when using credit from trade-ins? I'm pretty sure I remember they don't charge tax when using credit but I just wanted to confirm. Also, does this apply to gift cards as well? If there's a difference after credit/gc is applied, I guess I'm only taxed on the difference? Sorry for all the questions, I'm in the market for a new 360 and I'm just trying to calculate how much cash I need to come up with.

From what I know, being charged tax when using credit depends on your state and/or county. Florida, specifically Broward county, for example, doesn't seem to have a law for it, so I get charged tax.
