Gamestop credit used for online purchases?

Does anyone know if credit from trades made at a retail store can be used for online purchases, maybe via an Edge card? I don't have a credit card, nor money to buy one of those pre-paid cards, so I was thinking on trading some games and get 3D Dot Game Heroes, and like there's $10 off and a $10 coupon code, I'd like to buy it online.

Make sure you enter the right number; there are two different numbers on the back.
 
I did the correct number, but, I checked all the numbers closely, and a six was missing a little part and it looked like a 5, but when looked up close, I could see the difference. Thanks though!
