Gamestop customer service

I got a coupon code from Gamestop for $10 off my next on-line order.
I had never ordered on-line before so I tried it and it worked fine removing ten dollars on the total. So, I decided to buy it. I had to make an account to actually order on-line so I did and once I was finished, I then tried to apply the coupon but it then would not work. So I called up and got a nasty gamestop operator who cut me off mid-sentence to tell me that it did not work on pre-orders. I told her verbatim that it worked before I made an account and that reading the coupon in the email it says nothing about such a restriction. She just sighs.

So, I send an email that explains the situation and they offer to take ten dollars off of my order if I order it and give my order number in an email reply.
So, I did that and they then tell me they can't apply the code because I clicked on in-store pickup.

I can't catch a break with these guys. After my current credit is over I will surely leave them for good. There are way too many companies out there looking for business. K-mart in particular on new games and amazon and, target, and best buy on used games. I have been a loyal customer for years but not anymore. And they are to blame. Can no one there just apply a $10 credit? Jeez.

We get it. GameStop CS often sucks. Move along.

What a great response. Maybe I will post your answer to a kmart deal thread, ( ya, we get it. K-mart has good sales or ya we get it amazon has good service.) or when someone doesn't like a game. Ya, we all get it. If you have nothing to add, then don't post. It's not hard.

Did you guys know that gamestop sells gutted games as new?

Didn't know that. I'm gonna go throw a magazine rack at them and knock over some glitter. Wait...that isn't right...

To play devil's advocate, it's probably not their fault...well...except for the supposedly rude CSR...there's no excuse for rudeness. As far as getting the $10 credit to apply, if the system doesn't let them do it, the system doesn't let them do it. These are just lowly CSR's. They read from a script and input some data.

You could just take a print-out of your online order + the $10 coupon with you in-store and see if you can get any justice that way. Usually you'll get a sympathetic ear somewhere if you bring proof that other associates were giving you an unreasonably hard time on this.

Indigo, thank you for the helpful response. I'm gonna try that since I know the guys at the local gamestop. Thanks again.
