Are stores still doing this? I just got nintendogs today. The reason I ask is I was in a gamestop either halloween or nov 1st (can't remember) and, when buying some games, a clerk walked over to the nintendog demo and said something like "almost no one has bothered to come and get the gift on this thing". Is it likely some places still are doing this?
 
How is the TRU policy when it comes to bringing in our own stuff like a DS. Will those blue-vested TRU devils accost me and take my DS away?

Well, fortunately we don't live in a police state *yet*, so they probably won't do anything to you. But if they do try to hassle you, just kick 'em in the nards and run. It's all about knowing your rights, man.

Good to know. I just bought Mrs. Shipwreck a DS with Nintendogs so we'll have to make a trip to our local store.
 
Well if there is a downloadable demo then its obvious that they are expecting you to bring your DS into the store to get it, so i dont see why there should be a problem with that, if there is a problem with that you can just point to the thing on the demo that says "download a gift here" or whatever.

I dont even know if my TRU has a ds demo kiosk.

Besides, there are probably kids walking around with Ds's all the time in TRU, i wouldnt think anything of it.
 
I actually emailed Nintendo on the fact that mine didn't do it Halloween weekend. Apparently there was a lack of communication between them and Gamestop, they fixed it and will have the demo units up, officially, through the end of the month - at least for those stores that didn't have it for Halloween.
