Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is this sale for new or used games?
A: New games only. In the past, there have been B2G1 sales on used items associated with Game Days, so keep an eye out for that.

Q: Will all of the games be "gutted" or opened?
A: YMMV. Some stores I have been to basically open everything up and dump it into the bins. Others will only open a few copies and leave the rest behind the counter. If you want a sealed copy, make sure to ask.

Q: Is this in-store or online?
A: Both.

Q: Will the store accept a print-out of the 10% off coupon?
A: YMMV.

Q: Does the coupon work for one item or the whole purchase?
A: It works on all Game Days items bought in a purchase.

Q: Is there going to be a B2G1 on used games and accessories?
A: As previously mentioned, there could possibly be one later, but as of now, nope. There is only a B2G1 on used PS2 games when you buy a new PS2 system.

Grabbed one of two copies of Valkyria Chronicles and a copy of Silent Hill Origins. Took Castlevania up too, but the guy wouldn't give it to me for $10. I told him I thought it was part of the sale, and he was sure it wasn't. Since they had to manually enter the prices on the sales, I figured it'd be easier to just stop by a different store tomorrow to grab Castlevania than try to argue it.
 
Site was fine until the credit card processing part. Now it looks like its hanging... :\

Edit: Whew...failed the first try but I re-did the process and got through. $32.76 (damn you CA tax!)

Because a business has to charge sales tax whenever they have a physical presence in a state.
 
I was just able to put an order through. I wish I saw the SAVER coupon before ordering. :(

Note that you may have to refresh your shopping cart several times to get the right prices to appear. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 kept on showing up as $29.99. Other times Castlevania X would should up as $19.99. It took about 5 or 6 refreshes to get everything to appear correctly.
 
In for VC, free 'saver' shipping code worked, and tax was charged as usual. Glad I didn't go to sleep on this.

I really can't believe, given that this game exists in relatively limited quantities (due to it's undeserved lack of success) that they priced this game at $29.99 for the GameDays sale.

But hey, no complaints here, other than having far too many games to play, and not enough time.
 
Just bought my games online. I'm going to be laughing if the anal people that want sealed copies that went tonight and bought gutted games realize that maybe the online orders aren't gutted.

I don't care if they are or not, I actually like playing my games so sealed or not doesnt matter to me. As long as the disc is new.

grabbed vc and ff tactics a2. got the gutted ones but im not complaining. 6 more copies of vc where im at which is long island nesconset.
 
can anyone help me, i ordered vc off the site, every page said 29.99, but after i confirmed the order which stated 29.99, the confirmation receipt says 59.99 and also charged me shipping. i go to "order history" to cancel my order but nothing shows its just blank, i checked my email and i go the same confirmation email for 59.99, does it take a while for the order to show up on the order history

ahhh ok, thanks for clearing that up, I feel a little dumb now. I've been so used to not ever paying sales tax when I order online is why.

Worst I have ever experienced is about 30 mins for an order to show up.

I haven't gotten my order in the order history yet, either. You may just end up having to contact their customer service to get the proper adjustment made.

Every new game I've ever bought online from gamestop was sealed.

Not at all, it's been the same from Amazon all year (I've been tracking this game's price all year from them DAILY). They had it priced $14.95 last Black Friday though.

i hope it shows up soon, have you had any history with customer service there? what i am scared of is that they will say " If your order has already been processed it may be too late to make changes." just like it says on the help section of their site.

Well, as much as I'd like to be a total cheapass, the last time I went out on the day of a Nintendo launch (to Toys R Us for the DS Lite-- wasn't even there for the DS, I think they had a B2G1 sale or something) I nearly got swallowed alive by the hordes of rampaging soccer moms... so I had to pass on the 10% coupon (which sucks cause it'd basically just cancel out the insane CA sales tax) and just ordered online.

That said, maybe I'll swing by a store Monday... I know of one store that VC might survive for a couple of days, given what I see people buy... I can return my online purchases to the stores, right? (if I find a decent selection-- and/or I keep crossing my fingers Amazon will PM some of the bigger titles) My haul:

So I was the only guy at my local store NOT getting a DSi. As they were ringing up my order and manually changing the prices on the games, the system update hit. Problem is, it didn't show up on the associate's screen. They were so busy with the DSi, the gal just told me to call it good.

One is for another CAG, per their texted request while I was standing in line.
One is for a friend of mine with an upcoming birthday.
One is for when I ultimately wear my current disc down to nothing and need to keep playing.
