GameStop Game Days Sale
Online only: Use coupon code GD10 for an extra 10% off

(3/26-4/25)
Sale is for NEW GAMES/ACCESSORIES ONLY
Begins Friday March 26th and Ends April 25th

Please visit http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/
for the most up to date and accurate list, although if you are visiting before 3/26/10 the sale prices may not be updated yet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS[hiddenlist]
Q. Why is Saw (360/PS3) $24.99 and not $19.99 like originally posted?
A. It seems the price was read wrong at first, or just assumed to be $19.99, as the accurate and final list has it listed for $24.99. The game is still garbage in my opinion, but is an easy 1000 Achievement Points / Platinum Trophy. I recommend renting it, or waiting for a lower price.

Q. WHERE IS THE 10% Game Day Sale Coupon????
A. The past few Game Day sales did have a 10% coupon inside the Game Informer magazines, However the current Game Informer (Portal 2 on the cover) that has the Game Day sale advertised DOES NOT have the coupon. No official word if a coupon will be given or exist at this time. Just keep checking the thread for updates from fellow CAGS. Perhaps it will be distributed in the next Game Informer (in April) or with the Weekly Coupon in the GameStop E-mails.

Q. Will the games be gutted? if so how do I get a SEALED copy?
A. Yes, stores always gut their games to put into the sale bin. YMMV on whether the store guts every copy, or just one of each copy of the game. Best advice, is to get their early on the first day in hopes they did not get around to getting all the copies yet. Some stores in my area seem to hate gutting multiple copies, and generally just gut one copy in general as a standard. Once again YMMV.

It's GameStop expect gutted copies, if anything try to price match with BestBuy since the prices will be posted online here: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/

Q. Why does GameStop GUT their games?
A. I assume it is obviously to prevent theft since they are a small retail store (space wise), and not like BestBuy. It is not cost effective for a company that operates in small locations to use security detectors (more cost), so the GUT method works for them. Just politely ask for a sealed copy if they have it, or just say no thanks. Please don't complain in the threads. Shit gets old. I hate gutted copies just like the next guy, but it is nothing new, just move on.

Q. Are the games on sale NEW or USED?
A. All games/accessories on sale are NEW. If a Buy 2 Get 1 Free does occur during the Game Day sale then that will be for USED games only.

Q. Will the USED prices drop because the NEW ones are on sale?
A. Depends, typically when a NEW game is on a temporarily price drop, the USED copy will stay at its current price. So Assassins Creed 2 which is on sale for $29.99 NEW during the sale, may still have a USED price of $54.99. However, there are times when they will drop the USED price as well to reflect the NEW price drop.

Q.
Where is the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Used Games?
A. As far as I recall, GameStop usually holds a B2G1 Free at the beginning and/or end of the Game Days sale. I just got this list from fellow CAGs Driftninja & arcurifisher, and just organized it. Although the other threads have not 100% confirmed it as of 3/25/10, I think it is pretty safe to say there will be a B2G1 sometime during this Game Day sale. Check back for updates.

Q. These games on sale are horrible, any chance of better games being added?
A. Yes, I agree a good portion of the games are horrible, I mean "My Baby First Steps" seriously?. GameStop is known to add / remove games during the Game Day sales, so yes some new titles could be added, but don't expect it to be anything great, but you never know, maybe this year...

Q. Why were there so many threads on this sale?
A. Not sure why since I didn't make them, but don't flame the thread creators because it is just people trying to contribute to the CAG community. Just be polite please, and hopefully we will have a single thread to follow during the sale.[/hiddenlist]

seems to be YMMV. my Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Killzone 2 from the B1G1 came in the same box
From the shipment confirmation email:

Just saying, I got value shipping to a PO Box and got a tracking number for both(the order got split) shipments.

They're probably coming from different warehouses -- check the return address. My order from Friday came in two parcels, one from Tennessee and one from Texas.

Edit: Oops, Kentucky, not Tennessee. Meh, same thing.

Thanks for the heads-up, in for one. This, quite thankfully, also saves me from B&M'ing it. I'm somewhat tempted to throw something else from the sale into my cart that I'm mildly interested in (i.e. Bayonetta, FFT A2, Fallout 3, Cursed Mountain [OOS online]), but may just hold off due to backlog, etc.

I ordered 3 games COD WAW, SGC, and S2. Both COD WAW and SGC came manf. sealed in one package while S2 came evidently gutted and shirnkwrapped by GS. It is so easy to identify when they use their own shrinkwrap versus the one the manf. uses. I will keep it no matter as it is only a $20 game. So I think the reason why they might seperate packages is if they are gutted or brand new. Just a theory.

Picked up :wii: Ghost Squad and :wii: HOTD: Overkill for $15 each. Got :360: AC2 for $30. Both HOTD and AC2 were gutted, but they randomly had a sealed Ghost Squad. Strange. Oh well, the discs were fine, so I can't complain too much. Just had to peel of those stupid fucking stickers.

my god, GS is driving me nuts!!!
I used 3 gift cards and a credit card to pay off my online order last friday, but found out i shouldn't pay tax on the balance of 1 of 3 GCs, since this was an EDGE trade-in card.
I mentioned this yesterday, but CS insisted tax is applicable even with an EDGE card.
I wasn't happy but willing to pay since it was only couple dollars, but then she put me on hold, got an approval to credit back to my Credit card in an amount of $1.95.

Now, I got another phone call from GS today, telling me 1 of 3 gift cards i used had a shortage, like $1.95!!!
so, i explained what happened, that i shouldn't be resposible for this charge...
CS put me on hold again for 5 mins, so i got tired of it, told them i would pay, but she responded with this cheesy voice tone, telling me she was ABLE to fix the problem, blah blah blah.

Annoying part is, while i am writing to tell you guyz what happened here, i just got an email from GS, saying they were unable to process the order because one of my GCs or CC were declined....
my god...
good points i just gave my ac2 package and it came fron KY but i believe the used game i picked up is shipping from texas.
Was it factory sealed?

Tax is applied to every online order regardless of payment or state.
Persona 4 is back in stock online.
Thanks for posting this. I bought a gutted one in-store last Friday and was hoping it would come back online so I'd have a chance at a sealed copy. I can return the gutted one now and end up saving 10% (though I did have to order an extra game in RE4:Wii for free shipping).

You're all over-thinking this. My copies of BlazBlue and Bioshock were shipped from Texas, and my copy of Dissidia was shipped from Kentucky, and all were definitely factory sealed. I really think it's just a matter of which of their warehouses they have the stock of that particular game in, and nothing to do with anything more complicated like gutting or not, etc. It's just like how packages from Amazon don't always come from the same place either -- these large companies have multiple warehouses in multiple places (not to mention drop shipping from warehouses they don't own), and don't necessarily keep everything in all of them.
Was it factory sealed?
yep. i have yet to get a new game from them gutted when i purchase online. ive had a few shit experiences with used stuff but the new games are always perfect.
Where did brand new vs gutted copies come from?

I just noticed my latest shipment is out of Kentucky where most shipments are out of Texas.
The new ones I got COD WAW and SGC came from Kentucky, the Sacred 2 re-shrinkwrapped gutted copy came from TX.

Good news: It looks like GD10 works on used versions of Game Day sales items.

Bad news: It won't stack with CAG16. :/

Best news: Seems like a lot of the Game Day sales titles' used counterparts are now cheaper than the new versions. So with CAG16+Edge, you can get:

Pure/Bioshock/Sonic's UGC/Ghost Squad/HotD 2&3/ HotD:O for $9.82
Blazblue/Prototype/Fallout 3/CoD:WaW/Persona 4/MGS4 for $13.60
Alone in the Dark/Rock Revolution for $3.02/$3.39

And more, of course. 25% off already-reduced titles is REALLY good. :D Makes me wish I had more credit.
Sacred 2 was definitely reshrinkwrapped and I should know as I have over 10 games manf. wrapped still in my backlog of games. It does seem that if you are going to get gutted games they are going to come from TX as another poster mentioned something similar. I might just see if I can get a manf. shrink wrapped Sacred 2 at one of my local gamestops.

I wasn't doubting the fact that your Sacred 2 was reshrinkwrapped -- I have gotten reshrinkwrapped games before too (I just didn't this time). What I'm questioning is the assertion that games that come from Texas are reshrinkwrapped, while those from Kentucky aren't.

In fact, let me burst that bubble right here -- the last reshrinkwrapped game that I received from GameStop was Darksiders last month. I just looked back at the tracking info from that, and it was shipped from Kentucky. Add to that the fact that the two games that I had shipped to me from Texas the other day were factory sealed, and -- yeah, I don't think the warehouse that the games come from necessarily makes any difference whatsoever.

Where did you find COD4 used for 17.99?? The new GOTY prices smoke the used listings that I see.

OK, I see that the DS version is that price. 360 is $23, though :\ And not GOTY. Nuts.

No, I agree that it could be either place but maybe there is a pattern where one ships more gutted games than the other. I noticed that most used games come from TX based off what other posters in this forum have said. Just trying to help people worried about receiving gutted copies.

My bad. I must have clicked WaW twice. CoD4 GotY is sold out new and used.

Well, since GameStop's corporate headquarters are in Texas, it would possibly make sense that the largest warehouse would be there. Or they may process all of their used games through that particular warehouse. Hard to say. Regardless, used games and gutted games are two separate issues.

What it comes down to is that if you really don't want a gutted game, don't order from GameStop, because you never know what you'll get. If you are going to order from GameStop, you have to learn to stop caring about it at least to an extent.

That being said, when my first reshrinkwrapped copy of Darksiders came, I decided it was unacceptable because it had some light scratches and fingerprints on it (the scratches were the problem, but the fingerprints were the clear sign that they had been handling it). I called them, and they sent me a replacement (still reshrinkwrapped, but in excellent condition) and gave me a shipping label to send the first copy back with no difficulty whatsoever.

I'm going probably check around if I can find a copy that is manf. wrapped for Sacred 2. This is my first time buying a new game online from gamestop and overall it was a fine experience since shipping was super fast and 2 of the 3 games were brand new. I did get Cursed Mountain for $10 at a B&M and it was gutted but at that price I could live with it. I guess I could do the same with this one since this is the PS3 version which should still be in great condition since it is a blu-ray disc. I guess it just irks me as other posters that they would send reshrinkwrapped games online. I can understand B&M since they want to cut down on theft(well I guess I understand it) but online they shouldn't do it.

Ugh. I'm hovering over the "Purchase" button debating buying Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and Disgaea 3. Tax pushes it just over the point to get free shipping, but if there's a B2G1 later on during the sale, I'll be kicking myself, because I'd be giving up a free game ordering now.

However, CAG16 probably wouldn't stack with it, meaning I'd be paying extra to get a "free" game. And if either sold out before then, it would have defeated the purpose of waiting. :/
why did my games ship from 2 different places l4d2 shipped from grapevine texas and ass creed 2 shipped from kentucky
*headdesk* Have you even looked at the last two pages?

Yeah, it kinda irks me too, but it is what it is. My guess (but it's a complete guess, I have no direct knowledge) would be that the reshrinkwrapped games might actually be overstock from the stores that was returned to the warehouse. That's the only real reason that I can come up with for why they would be gutted -- I mean, it takes time and effort (which costs money) to gut games, so there must be some reason for it.

I think i have maxed out my yearly alloted amount to spend at GS now on new games which is noramally zero. LOL. Well at least 2 of the games I got were brand new and shipping was fast. Not that it matters since all these games will probably just sit in my backlog of over 90 or so games. LOL. At least I didn't pay over $20 dollars for any of these games so no big loss if I don't play them for awhile.

You have 30 days to return with online orders so go for it!
Grabbed Bayonetta 360 for $10.99 after 10% off and a 25$ gift card I had laying around.
I'm sorry but can people please stop doing this? Your $25 gc isn't really part of any deal.

You got Bayonetta for 26.99.

Seriously, got excited and then finished reading. No one cares if you had a gift card, only say if it's something other people can take advantage of.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who got excited. I finished bayonetta and traded it in. wanted it back in my collection. saw $10.99 and was ready to jump.

Wow. What a stupid thing to get bitchy over. I was happy since it was a giftcard I didn't have to pay for. So for me it was magically a better deal.

It's not my fault if people don't read or jump to conclusions.

Btw does anyone know if the version of MGS4 they're shipping out is the GH or black label?
Guys. What does Game Stop use to ship things?
I assume you mean shipping method? Most of the shipments that I've gotten from them (standard shipping, I'm never in enough of a hurry to pay extra for expediated) have been USPS presorted bulk rate with delivery confirmation, though I have occasionally gotten things from them through UPS.

One of my games that came yesterday was shipped via USPS, but was in a UPS mailer (and no, they didn't use the UPS mail service, it was USPS the whole way). That seemed odd.

Both of my sets of games from the B1G1 came this way as well.

Yea. That was what I meant.
Do they put it in your mail box or drop it in front of your doorstep?

That probably depends upon the size of the parcel, the size of your mailbox, and your carrier. So it's difficult to say.

I have most things shipped to me at my office, where the person at the front desk receives the mail, so I don't usually have either of those.
