GameStop Game Days Sale
Online only: Use coupon code GD10 for an extra 10% off

(3/26-4/25)
Sale is for NEW GAMES/ACCESSORIES ONLY
Begins Friday March 26th and Ends April 25th

Please visit http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/
for the most up to date and accurate list, although if you are visiting before 3/26/10 the sale prices may not be updated yet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS[hiddenlist]
Q. Why is Saw (360/PS3) $24.99 and not $19.99 like originally posted?
A. It seems the price was read wrong at first, or just assumed to be $19.99, as the accurate and final list has it listed for $24.99. The game is still garbage in my opinion, but is an easy 1000 Achievement Points / Platinum Trophy. I recommend renting it, or waiting for a lower price.

Q. WHERE IS THE 10% Game Day Sale Coupon????
A. The past few Game Day sales did have a 10% coupon inside the Game Informer magazines, However the current Game Informer (Portal 2 on the cover) that has the Game Day sale advertised DOES NOT have the coupon. No official word if a coupon will be given or exist at this time. Just keep checking the thread for updates from fellow CAGS. Perhaps it will be distributed in the next Game Informer (in April) or with the Weekly Coupon in the GameStop E-mails.

Q. Will the games be gutted? if so how do I get a SEALED copy?
A. Yes, stores always gut their games to put into the sale bin. YMMV on whether the store guts every copy, or just one of each copy of the game. Best advice, is to get their early on the first day in hopes they did not get around to getting all the copies yet. Some stores in my area seem to hate gutting multiple copies, and generally just gut one copy in general as a standard. Once again YMMV.

It's GameStop expect gutted copies, if anything try to price match with BestBuy since the prices will be posted online here: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/gamedays10/

Q. Why does GameStop GUT their games?
A. I assume it is obviously to prevent theft since they are a small retail store (space wise), and not like BestBuy. It is not cost effective for a company that operates in small locations to use security detectors (more cost), so the GUT method works for them. Just politely ask for a sealed copy if they have it, or just say no thanks. Please don't complain in the threads. Shit gets old. I hate gutted copies just like the next guy, but it is nothing new, just move on.

Q. Are the games on sale NEW or USED?
A. All games/accessories on sale are NEW. If a Buy 2 Get 1 Free does occur during the Game Day sale then that will be for USED games only.

Q. Will the USED prices drop because the NEW ones are on sale?
A. Depends, typically when a NEW game is on a temporarily price drop, the USED copy will stay at its current price. So Assassins Creed 2 which is on sale for $29.99 NEW during the sale, may still have a USED price of $54.99. However, there are times when they will drop the USED price as well to reflect the NEW price drop.

Q.
Where is the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Used Games?
A. As far as I recall, GameStop usually holds a B2G1 Free at the beginning and/or end of the Game Days sale. I just got this list from fellow CAGs Driftninja & arcurifisher, and just organized it. Although the other threads have not 100% confirmed it as of 3/25/10, I think it is pretty safe to say there will be a B2G1 sometime during this Game Day sale. Check back for updates.

Q. These games on sale are horrible, any chance of better games being added?
A. Yes, I agree a good portion of the games are horrible, I mean "My Baby First Steps" seriously?. GameStop is known to add / remove games during the Game Day sales, so yes some new titles could be added, but don't expect it to be anything great, but you never know, maybe this year...

Q. Why were there so many threads on this sale?
A. Not sure why since I didn't make them, but don't flame the thread creators because it is just people trying to contribute to the CAG community. Just be polite please, and hopefully we will have a single thread to follow during the sale.[/hiddenlist]

The Edge card and cag 16 don't exactly add up to 26%.

What they do is take off 10% then total that amount and take 16% off of that number.

Example:

Game is $10, edge drops it to $9, then cag 16 drops it to $7.56.

instead of a full 26% off which would be $7.40.

This is for online purchases.
wtf they dropped all the used prices below gamedays sale prices.... so essentially could've got a much better deal with cag16+ edge... fml
With the way how everything's been gutted for most places, you're better off getting the games at those prices. At least used Wii, PS3 and 360 games are guaranteed to come with a box and book.
nope

Tried all four versions (both used, both new). Not a problem at all.
Funny, it wouldn't work from ebgames but worked at gamestop site.
Considering getting Bayonetta for $26 but I think I may hold out for a cheaper price. Decisions, decisions.
I liked the game but I felt no need to play through it twice, I'd wait for something under 20 bucks personally.
Disgaea 3 for $20.. very tempting. I haven't gotten around to playing the first one yet, though.. purchased it a few months ago but have been occupied with other games. :p
IMO, the first one is still the best...

How many times can you return stuff you bought online to B&M before they claim you've made too many returns? I'm thinking of returning all my gamedays purchases, then buying them used.

They actually keep track and flag if there's too many returns?

I'm happy with all my GameDays buys. All brand-new. :applause:

Yes, at least I recall others being banned from returning or something like that.

Could someone help me with my order. I don't understand what it's saying.
I ordered it today, and on my order history it says closed.
When I click the order number, it shows that both items and they say shipped.
But then the tracking number doesn't even work. It has a question mark at the end of it.

Your order has shipped (or entered the shipping process), but it's too early in the process for any tracking information. If you just ordered today it's probably sitting in the warehouse waiting to be picked up.
I'm sorry but can people please stop doing this? Your $25 gc isn't really part of any deal.

You got Bayonetta for 26.99.
It is for him. The $25 is free money. It's no different than someone giving the $25 to GameStop directly and telling him he needs to pay the rest. His out of pocket expense is whatever's left after the $25 gift card, in this case $11. That's what the game cost him, plain and simple.

What shouldn't be said is 'I got X game for $50 because Amazon gave me a $10 credit for pre-ordering'. No, you paid $60 out of pocket and you can use the $10 towards a future purchase, not the game you just bought. The gift card situation is different than that though.

Anyways, back on topic, I added Disgaea 3 to my list after Amazon price matched. I'm gonna try to return my copy of BlazBlue tomorrow (tossed the damn receipt by accident) and re-order it from Amazon if all goes well. I'm not a fan of giving GS my money and if I can get it from Amazon for the same price without having to deal with tax, I'll take it.

Really? You're that big of a GameStop nonfanboy that you'd go through the trouble of returning a game you already own just so you can re-buy it at the same price from Amazon? Seems like a lot of useless hassel on your part just to keep GameStop the hell away from your mighty $20. Bravo. :applause::applause::applause:
Your order has shipped (or entered the shipping process), but it's too early in the process for any tracking information. If you just ordered today it's probably sitting in the warehouse waiting to be picked up.
Thanks. What days do USPS deliver?

Returning the Bayonetta I bought in-store and ordered the one online for $26.99

$10+ worth of savings. Yay!

Wait, are the prices online used the same as in store? Like will I find it for 34.99 used in store?

Holy shit! I dunno rather to grab Bayonetta or not, I played the first 5 chapters and it wasn't my thing. This is the cheapest I've seen. What do you guys think?

EDIT: GameStop's website must be taking a hella a pounding, it's on almost eternal load.

EDIT: I hear there's free shipping with orders $25 and over? If so, you choose the overnight shipping option, correct? Is it normal that it is still being applied to the order when you're asked to purchase? Or have I completely misunderstood? Sorry, noob here.

Ordered Bayonetta for $28.?? with tax, which I shouldn't have since I live in Texas and paid with Credit.

Anyway, should I expect it in Original case? Don't really care about the manual. I know they have that guarantee, but I think I got on my GS' nerves(or they don't normally allow box changes) when I returned Star Ocean 2 PSP for the original case...so I don't know if they will let me exchange this time if it has no case.

I picked up these

:360: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (5.87)
:360: Kameo: Elements of Power (5.03)
:360: Afro Samurai (7.55)
:360: Dark Sector (5.87)
:360: Hellboy: The Science of Evil (9.49) (Amazon had better price)
:360: Infinite Undiscovery (10.99) (Amazon had better price)
:360: The Last Remnant (11.99) (Amazon had better price)

Total = 58.00$

This will be the first time since launch that I have a backlog of games. I think I did pretty well.

It's the Value Shipping one. That normally takes a week, but recently they've been shipping rather quickly. It applies with orders $25 and over. If it doesn't seem to apply on the spot, add the coupon code "SAVER."

GS changed their policies to always guarantee a case and manual being included with all used 360, PS3 and Wii orders. PS2, GameCube, GBA, DS and PSP games do not have this guarantee.

Even if he didnt pay for the GC, he did SPEND the GC. Just like cash, when you "surrender" the GC, you cannot use it in the future. So it is spent. Therefore he paid whatever the value of the GC plus cash. Either way, he spent the full amount because the GC is now worthless. Just like the cash that he no longer has.

Are you simple?

Looks up: this isn't the motherfucking bragging thread.

When you say things like I got Bayonetta for $10.99, people are expecting a deal, or at the very least a YMMV. Not how some game was less cause you had a gift card.

This is like a "I got good news -- i just saved 15% on my car insurance." Well, good for you but it doesn't mean shit to me.

Just so you guys know, Bayonetta (360 only) is $19.99 used at Family Video. Shipping is $1.99. You can check it out in the family video used games thread. I've always had nothing but great experiences with them. Peeling the stickers off is a pain, but it is cheaper! :)

360 Only, you should add that.

Turns out used in store is still $49.99 for Bayonetta. Poo, now I have to wait for it by mail.

Cost of Item: $25

You can pay in cash or credit. You have a giftcard for $25. You BUY the ITEM with the $25 GIFTCARD.

You spent the value of the giftcard, $25. You can no longer spend that giftcard on anything else. If you had not bought Item #1 with that giftcard, you could've bought Item #2.

Therefore, that giftcard had value. Value equivalent to cash. (The only difference between these two forms of currency are that:

1) Credit cannot earn interest in most if not all cases.
2) You can spend cash almost anywhere whereas credit is restricted to one chain or a group of chains.

I am trying to buy a used game with coupons CAG16 & saver but for some reason the shipping is not coming up free. Using saver alone also does not seem to work. Does anyone have information on this or a similar problem?

Yeah, for some reason, online orders paid with credit have tax even if they shouldn't.

I've never really been a fan of GS. I always shopped at EB and it killed me when the bastards bought them. Plus I abhor most of GS' policies and I think they really do a disservice to the industry and to gamers. Besides, I need to stay true to CAG form: that $1.40 in tax could get me a slice of pizza :)

It's moot anyway. Bums wouldn't take it back without the receipt, even though they have my info in the system. Oh well, they can have my business this once.

WTF? $1.40 for a slice of pizza? Where?

You must live in new york or something. A friend of mine who does tells me tales of $1.40 for a pizza and drink. No such thing here in Texas that I know of.

Wrong. The GC is still free money. When anyone asks you how much something cost, common sense dictates your response will be centered around how much you paid out of pocket. If a buy Bayonetta from GS, I don't say it cost me $60 and the store gave me $20 off, I say it cost me $40. Same concept applies to the GC. The hit to his cash/credit was $11, not $35. Is the GC gone? Yes. Was it a hit to his bottomline? No. Another example: B1G1. The two games didn't cost me $120, even though that's their value. They cost me $60 OOP. Again, no different than the GC, which is effectively free money.

You should ask yourself that question, ass. He didn't issue a blanket statement saying he got Bayonetta for $11. He mentioned how much he paid and clarified WHY and HOW. It's no different when all you kids talk about your prices after the sorry ass ECA discounts that aren't even offered anymore. Your tirade is moot and completely pointless, typical for someone who apparently can't read.

And now I'm going to make it simpler for you. Your buddy gives GS the $25 out if his pocket instead of giving you a gift card. How much did the game (I'll make it $25 so everyone can keep up) cost YOU? It cost YOU $0. It cost your friend $25. Now, think and ask yourself how that's any different than your friend taking that same $25, giving it to you if GC form, and you buying that game. Your OOP cost is still $0.

Ready for the shocking part: it isn't different at all!
