Okay so I went into Gamestop just now to pay off 3D Dot Game Heroes and the cashier said that I had a canceled reservation for God of War 3 that was paid off in full ($64.19)

I told him I already preordered it and paid it off at the midnight launch and was so confused as to how I got this free 60 bucks in credit.

I know the manager pretty well and he's like dude just go for it, embrace the glitch and pick out a free game.

I was trying to decide between Demon's Souls, Monster Hunter Tri and Red Dead Redemption.

I ended up picking Monster Hunter because they had the bundle with the classic controller which would come out to be $64.19 exactly. And he threw in the 500 point card as well.

If anyone knows how this glitch happened, I'd love to know but I'm not complaining. I got a free game that I know I'll love and it gives me a reason to turn on my Wii.

He also gave me some SSFIV thumb stick things and a huge GOW3 popout promo poster so my trip to GS turned out amazing somehow or another. :)

Awesome deal, and I love the fact that you try to be a good guy and tell them it's wrong and you had it paid off instead of immediately jumping :applause:

Awesome man, wish I had your kind of luck ;)
DAMN , should have gotten Red Dead Redemption ;)
I figure I'll get it soon enough and like the manager said, Monster Hunter gives you the most bang for your buck. Free 500 wii points, classic controller for 10 bucks cheaper and over a hundred hours of gameplay. Really liking it so far.

Same thing happened to me, but it was with FFVII Crisis Core for PSP.
The guy told me I had it pre-ordered and paid a year and a half after it came out ._.

Oh man, definitely gonna pre-order Gears of War 3 now and maybe I'll get you guys's luck in 2011 :p

The Store Manager is right, embrace the glitch.

Their systems said it, you notified them of the issue, but honestly the amount of man hours to confirm and resolve this would be more then the 64.19 saved. So congratulations enjoy and if you want to hunt online, hit me up.

Happened to me once, and I got 2 free games worth of credit out of it! When I picked up my preorder of Mario Kart Wii, they forgot to have me sign the recipt. I didn't think anything of it, but next time I went in the store, they told me I had Mario Kart paid off in full. I told them I already picked it up. They told me I didn't...LOL. I used the credit on Sonic Unleashed (it was brand new at the time)...and they still didn't remove the Mario Kart credit! Next time I went in there they told me same thing..I never picked it up. That time I just had them put it on my edge card.

Whoever was doing the midnight launch didn't ring you up. They should've removed your preorder from the system then, an employee fucked up, gave you your game and never removed the preorder.

Mystery solved.

Thats what I was going to say. I have seen when I was working at GS Where the coumpter would say 50 copies of a game and we only had 49. Look back through preorders and someone didnt ring out the game they just just paid off the preorder. The MGR should have known that. Good for you, lol
