Picked up GTAIV since I got rid of all my copies, also picked up Project GOtham Racing 4 (just so I could use saver)
 
Well, my copy of Galaxy is supposed to show up today, despite the fact that I went for free, cheap shipping. We'll see if the quality of the game is as good as they're claiming!
 
Well, got my copy of Super Mario Galaxy, and I have to say I'm VERY impressed with GameStop. They weren't kidding when they said they picked high quality copies. The case, manual, and even disc look mint. Also, despite the fact that I got the free, slow shipping, according to UPS the game was actually sent via 3-day.
 
Great news, Yoda! I did place a small order in this sale in hopes of encouraging GS to stop using the website used products as the dumping ground for the "utter crap no human would willingly buy" discs they accept... I'd probably buy more used games if they didn't all look so horrible. The shipment is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, I've been a bit nervous as to what will show up.

(plus I have a feeling that is EXACTLY what this sale is testing...)

I second this. I also bought Super Mario Galaxy, used SAVER for free shipping. I ordered Monday and it came today and mine also is in excellent condition. Here's hoping they keep this kinda thing going.

I did the b2g1 in-store, sorry. For this I used CAG16, EDGE, and SAVER.
 
Well I ordered Fallout 3 for the 'handpicked complete copy'. It was complete, I'll give them that, but the BluRay disc had several really bad indentations in it and the disc was unplayable. The case also had 2 of the white refurb stickers on the back of it.

I think I'm done with Gamestop.com...I've received way too much junk from them. Feel very lucky if you get a nice copy of what you ordered.

The good news is that I was able to take it back in-store and swap it for a nice disc. The manager at that store said they see it all the time with GS.com sending out garbage that is unplayable. He got a good laugh out of the claim that these are handpicked to be the best quality. He confirmed that the majority of GS.com used items are the stores rejects that are returned to the refurb center.
 
I haven't tried it, but my 2 games (GTA 4 and MLB2K8 as "filler" for SAVER-- rather pay $6 for a game than $3 for shipping) both had "RFB" on the back as well. MLB 2k8 looked perfect, GTA 4 came as the yellow-sleeved disc shoved inside a case [bizarre!] and has a weird little "stripe" of very small bubbling on it.. looked like dust from sitting in the paper sleeve but it won't come off. I haven't tried either disc but I'm a little concerned about it, especially if there's no way to really verify the whole disc is readable (or does the PS3 GTA 4 install pretty much everything and if it installs it's good?)... I may take the game back to a store and see if I can swap it with a truly pristine disc.

As long as the discs work it's a HUGE improvement over past used GS orders but the fact the discs appeared to go through refurb, etc, and don't look absolutely perfect is concerning.
