GameStop in Trouble?
Actually keeping a GS next to an EB and owning both makes a bit of sense. You keep both stores stocked with slightly different used titles which encourages gamers to browse both stores and in the end buy more. Still that only really works well for high traffic areas like malls.
This is completly true and companies have been doing it for years, Sam Goody's owns friggin everything. (Specs, Suncoast, other random music stores)

Damn I hope this isn't true. The best deals usually come from BB/CC sales, but keeping GameStop around is good for the game community as a whole. Mainly because the big electronics giants keep a pitifully small stock of games. They will have a ton of copies per game, but very few games to choose from. Basically if a game doesn't go GH within a year, it gets clearanced and deleted from the system.

GameStop/EB keeps a lot more games in stock, so I hope they stick around.

I'm not too upset if Gamestop goes out of business, I haven't shopped at one in almost 2 years. The last day I ever intended to spend money at Gamestop, I was there to pick up my pre-order on a game and tried to sell me an open display copy and charge me new.
