gamestop is getting ready for the ps3 and wii preorders!
hopefully it's not shitty bundles only, though it probably will be
Yeah they will defenitly do bundles.
No, they just include stuff you wouldn't normally buy.
yeah, they usually insure that by throwing in the most random shit with something else.

They'll definetly include some useless accessories, but then they'll go around and include a sports game with a fps
You can always just return the stuff you don't want to an EB or GS B&M store. :D
you sure about that? if that's the case I will probably bite

The link doesn't mean that they're getting ready for anything, that's been up since just after E3. It just puts you on an e-mail list for whenever they decide to start preordering or whatever they're going to do.

the red writing was there, before, they just added that recently. So apparently, they've got their numbers and know what they're going to do with preorders

I'm expecting MASSIVE bundle prices.

Lowest being 799 (for the 499 version with bunch of crap)

highest being 1799 (for 599 version with bunch of crap)

But if we can just return the crap that we dont want.
then it wont be a bigdeal.

It'll be more than 1799, they have to include a house with it like they did the 360...
so...is it probably a good idea to take a pre-order in store and wait in line very early as well? maybe i'll pitch a tent
From what I'm hearing employees will be buying those up for Ebay, so I wouldn't bother.

Just got back from my local EB. The manager told me that that will be taking preorders very soon and to just call every day. He said PS3 will be very feew preorders but Wii they should have a lot. Also he said that the company has numbers of how many systems they will get at launch but the reason they are not doing pre orders yet is because they are figuring out how to advertise it. Thank that for what it's worth. It's mostly useless info but I was just passing one what he told me.

Just got done calling several gamestops/EB games in the philadelphia area. PS3 preorder start tomorrow.Wii to start on Wednesday/Thursday. $100 down required on PS3 preorders.

Employees in my area still giving me the run around.

The managers in my area (Georgia) are still saying the same shit they have been saying for the last two weeks, "We don't know. Your guess is as good as ours. Sometime by the end of the month." With my local GameStop saying they aren't doing pre-orders on the PS3 at all, only on the Wii. Bullshiiiiiit.

I called 3 Gamestops today and got the same response from all of them. A LONG pause followed by a "Call back early tomorrow morning". Take that for what it is.

Just got the email from GameStop. PS3 preorders start tomorrow, $100 minimum deposit that doesn't guarantee a system.

Here is the text of the email:
"Limited PlayStation 3 Pre-order
GameStop and EB Games will begin accepting limited pre-orders for the PlayStation 3 console on Tuesday, October 10, on a first come, first served basis. Due to extremely limited supply, we expect to deplete this allocation very quickly, most likely in minutes. We will not accept additional pre-orders at this time. To avoid an unnecessary trip we strongly recommend you call your local store to determine availability. A $100 reservation deposit is required, which can be funded with cash, credit or trade. As we cannot control production and shipping issues by the manufacturer, a reservation deposit does not guarantee receipt of a system available to purchase at launch. Reservations/Purchases are limited to 1 per household.

Our limited online pre-order program will be announced at a later date, after software and accessory availability dates are confirmed. Online product pricing and availability will vary and will be fulfilled independent of store reservations."

EDIT: Their emphasis, not mine. I only italicized it...

Again some stores have already guaranteed pre-orders to those that already pre-ordered a game. If they get an extremely limited supply, some of those stock could be already be spoken for. This if fucking crazy.

no offense but that makes NO sense. just because you reserved a game or several does nt mean your guaranteed a system ont he launch date. im not trying to be a dick or anything but i do work at an gs store and we do tell customers that reserving a game does not mean your in line for a system.

Well that's what my local be told me, the ones that pre-ordered games before today are guaranteed preorders and are first one the list of preorders once they put them in. Each store is different.

tomorrow morning it would seem. Sucks though since I might have to compete with college students who DONT have work in the morning. hmm

This info is now posted on their websites as well as finally having dedicated ps3/wii sections on their sites.

Now the real question is when do the ONLINE pre-orders begin.

Exactly. There's no GS/EB in downtown Chicago where I work, so I'm out of luck with the in-store reservation.

Hmmm... should I skip work this morning on the off chance that I can get a reservation in town? There aren't really any colleges around here and everyone else should be in school. Plus, since the announcement was made yesterday there's a good chance no one will know about it until it's too late... This is very tempting.

Edit: I got one. Waited for 15 minutes and I was 4 of 6. Sweet!
everywhere within 50 miles of me sold out of preorders thismorning in 10 minutes ARGGG
Yep, I found that out too, man, what a drag...

Went there around 7 tonight to trade some stuff in. Manager had 6 calls in the span of 3 minutes where he answer the phone with "we have ran out of PS3s". He was saying that the store could only take 5 pre-orders and those were taken by 10:02 this morning. He also showed me a page printout from a ebay auction. There's already a pre-ordered on ebay for $5,000 fucking dollars!!!

so did you get in on the list or what?

This is SPAM unless you are cutting Cheapy in on a % or have his approval to post this.

I think we should start a thread focus on PS3 preorders. Gamestop/EB in store preorders are finished. But there is still a chance for online preorders at Gamestop/EB, Amazon, and Walmart. Rumors that Circuit City might be doing a preorder for the PS3 too.
