Just a friendly reminder to everyone that the Jirachi event is starting today at Gamestop. This event is in anticipation of Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

If you bring in your copy of Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum, you will be able to get a Jirachi of your very own.

It will be running for two weeks, 2/27 - 3/13, so if you want that Jirachi, be sure to drop by sometime before then.

*Heres a full scan thanks to Tsukento*

Crap, just got a DSi from Targets clearance and don't have any Pokemon games yet. Now to find a cheap Pokemon game before the 13th....

I was 7 when I first played pokemon.
My cousins and I got our first gameboy colors for Christmas that year.
We each got a copy of pokemon too. I got Red, and my two cousin's got Blue and Yellow
Good times.

If you still have an "un-picked up" mystery gift (like the last one), you won't be able to pick it up. I forgot that with the Pichu a couple of weeks ago. I still had a promo Regigigas so it never picked up the signal. As soon as I grabbed it from the Pokemart, the signal showed up the next time I went to Mystery Gift.

SI
i hope they'll have a mew event as well
They will. Japan recently had a random Mew event that was available via Wi-Fi.

You can have three mystery gifts on your cartridge. The man at the pokemart will have all three pokemon for you, you'll just have to pick them up in order that you received the gifts. So if you're still soft reseting for a pokemon, you can still receive the other ones. If you have 3 mystery gifts, it will tell you to delete an old one.

Not sure what was going on with your signal, but you should have been able to get both at the same time.

Kinda regret not getting all the past mystery event pokemon but then again, I was done with diamond and had no more interest. And now I can drive.

Hoping there will be another event after this soon. Is there usually a pattern?

Watch for Japanese events.

Pretty much this. We've been getting all of the events Japan's been getting. Granted, they're not always the same methods (especially with Japan having the movies in theaters), but we still get the same Pokemon.

Mew is likely the next event to hit the US. With Celebi to come up in Japan next.
Woo then i cant wait to get mew then! Any chances of the past events in the u.s. might occur again?
Darkrai and Shaymin were obtainable on WiFi for Platinum, downloading an item that let you catch them.

The Gamestop/Toys R Us versions of each basically won't happen again in the US.

Arceus is the only Pokemon they haven't done a legit in game event for, so there's hope for you getting that one at least.

Arceus was available at Toys R Us back in November.

But you didn't get the flute to summon him. He was talking about the actual in-game event to get arceus, not just a simple trade.

Seems those in-game items were for Platinum and Platinum only. Since I only have Diamond, I probably never gave a care about them. Do the ones caught naturally have any "import to silver/gold bonuses" like the ones received directly from Gamestop/TRU wireless?

Actually, the items for accessing areas leading to Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus are available in Diamond and Pearl. Problem is that when the games got hacked to high hell, Nintendo postponed the events for them and had to think of alternatives. Which lead up to Platinum getting them and having alternate versions.

As for the regular ones affecting HG/SS, no. They don't affect anything in the game due to the fact that they were programmed before the recent pair were thought of and have nothing additional programmed in to unlock anything.

Pikachu-Colored Pichu unlocks the Spiky Eared Pichu event
Toys R Us Arceus unlocks the event that allows you to create either a Dialga, Palkia or Giratina with an exclusive move
GameStop Jirachi unlocks a PokeWalker route
And a future event involving Celebi triggers an event that involves battling Giovanni

What exactly do I need for this? I know that I need a DS and a copy of Pokemon Pearl, but where do I need to be in the game? I plan to restart. Also, will having a DS in the store be a problem?

"And a future event involving Celebi triggers an event that involves battling Giovanni"

Do tell more about this. A Team Rocket revival with the original boss????

Once you know his team maxes out around Level 40s, you don't care anymore.

I was amazed that getting Jirachi at Gamestop was so pain-free, but I was even more amazed that the cashiers didn't act like douches and try to get me to pre-order nine thousand games that won't be out until doomsday!

Similar to how we never got the Old Sea Chart for Mew in Emerald?

Sorta. Only difference is that they inexplicably never released the event for that here, whereas the other events were due to the cheating spanning into online territory.
