I guarantee you there's more to the story. This guy is at best an opportunist, and at worst....well, just read this thread.

ahhh yes, i remember him. now what did you really expect with 4 (hoarder) copies of the game? the guys were rude, if youre that bitter about it just go to the website and complain because calling corporate wont yield any result that you cant get from the website, other than taking more time. you got the DM to allow you to do it, so be happy about that because they didnt have to dot hat. why didnt you just go back to the first store and get the damn games you wanted.

oh, and 4 copies, shame on you.

GameStop had their Game Days sale recently (WITH LIVE PRODUCT in the sales bin) which included Harvest Moon DS...

Hehehehehehe!!! Thanks for that, I needed a good laugh. Ignorant community, huh? The site is called CHEAPassgamer, not RETAILOROVERassgamer.

However, if anyone wants, I have just OODLES of guides on my own TL, for only THREE TIMES normal retail, plus $10 shipping EACH. Get em now, cause at these INSANE prices, they're gonna be gone SOON. LMFAO
I'll take a copy of Harvest Moon DS for $10-15 shipped :D
Good luck. The OP would probably want $35 shipped for each.

1) 4 copies? Look- it doesn't matter if you're techincally following the rules or not- employees know when someone's taking advantage of the system- and since they don't have the power to fix the system, they go after the guy screwing them over. (And you ARE screwing them over, becuase if they'd allowed your trade, then they'd be told to push those damn Harvest Moon games out. It's annoying.) Not to mention it makes you look like a shoplifter.

Next time, only bring ONE of a title at a time. And don't bring too many of the same game to the same store.

2) The store had every right to kick you out. As a private business (as opposed to a public offering, like a library), the store is allowed to kick you out without any reason at all- most stores simply don't, as it's bad for business to throw out the guys who "look at you funny". In your case however, the store had every right to have you leave. You violated their trade rules, then obviously made a stink about it-considering by the 2nd store you were asking for the policy in writing and DM calls. All stores have lots of policies that are either unwritten, written on confidential documents you can't see, or are exclusive to that store to deal with a problem special to said store. (The bext example I can think of is the 1-cent price tag. It means "do not sell and destroy" in more than one retail chain- but I'll be stunned if someone can show me that in writing for any of them.) Face it- you tried to flip and got shot down. Deal with it.

3) In the case of shoplifiting- unless they said that specifically ("Did you steal this?", "These are stolen", "You're a thief", etc.) There's only implication- and the managers will proably side with their employees when they say "That's not what I meant!"

So basically, all you've got is a "They were rude." Which may be legitmate and worth a call to corporate or whatever... but I doubt you're going to get much action from that. I say let it go and try not to look suspicious in the future.

Complain to the BBB about how their policy is not stated anywhere. Go to the BBB's website. You have to fill out this long form about the incident that happened and tell the story. It may or may not yeild anything but that kind of thing probably will hit corporate way higher than calling the district manager.

I hope the OP did call corporate to notify them of the employee's actions.

....so corporate can commend them for being great employees!

So let me get this straight Fresh Prince...

you bought up a pile of the same $5 game from Best Buy to take advantage of a trade in offer at Gamestop.

But you didnt realize GS had a policy against accepting multiple copies of the same game as tradeins. So they refused your trade.

So why are you calling corporate again?

Sounds like your pissed cos you bought up a ton of copies of a shit game, and now your stuck with them.

Im not against taking advantage of tradein deals like this at all, but you clearly didnt do you homework, and now your mad at Gamestop. This 'nightmare' is of your own making.
