This sale will be 1 hour on Friday (11:00 AM CST - 12:00PM CST)
My guess it will be new super mario bros. wii for a good price. It will definitely be some mario game, the question is: which one?

yes. 11 AM CST = 12 PM EST

2.5d? isnt that how super paper mario was said to be (not 2d or 3d but 2.5d)?

Taken from super paper mario wiki: "As Nintendo Power magazine describes it, the game is the first "2.5D" sidescrolling video game"

thanks :D (op updated)

i've actually been wanting super paper mario. awesome!

Yeah me too, I really hope that it is super paper mario. I never got around to picking that one up but loved the others and it's never really dropped in price, so it'd be perfect. Here's hoping!

I generally call 2D esque games that use rendering and polygons 2.5D.

I think the description is talking about New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

That's my guess anyway.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me if its NSMB just because its a newer title, although if so they need to learn to give better hints. :p

Yeah, it won't be Super Paper Mario(that's like a 3 year old game). It will be New Super Mario Bros Wii. 2.5D sometimes means 3D on a 2D plane, ala Street Fighter 4, Sonic 4, etc.

I agree. The power hour would only make sense for a game that still has a high value. They wouldn't dig up a load of old games and sell it for $5 instead of a $10 market value.
Could also be New Super Mario Bros. DS.

Edit: Is that 3:00 PST?
12pm EDT=11am CDT=10am MDT= 9am PDT

What are you guys talking about? It can very well be Super Paper Mario seeing as it costs more used than New Super Mario Bros ($33 > $30) so I don't think it should be dismissed so easily. Admittedly, I am hoping for New Super Mario Bros since I have the latter.

Power hours are usually new versions of games, and they only have the used version in stock.

Sorry about asking again, but do I need to show up at 9AM (Pacific Time) or 11 AM to hopefully get NSMW?

READ! This thread is only just over 1 page long. :dunce:

Sorry I assumed this was an in-store sale and I wanted to ask about time zone differences assuming I could go into a store. I didn't know power hours were online (or at least I guess they are). Its not like those questions were answered earlier in the thread.

I don't think there is anyway not to sound like a prick about this, but you really thought that a tweet saying "visit gamestop.com" in it, and this sale is only 1 hour long....would be in stores?

The last two times I've seen it (GoWIII and FFXIII) it was one of the main banners on the site. You couldn't miss it. Clearly it isn't happening this hour.
Either that or they're delaying it until twitter stops being over-capacity.
I'm not a twitter-er... what does this mean?
I'm not a twitter-er... what does this mean?
It means twitter is fucked at the moment (which happens more then it should) and no one can get any tweets from the twitters.
Im noticing that the used version is twenty bucks lower in price than the new... thats not it is it!?
Nope.. that's how much it was...
New Super Mario Bros. (Wii) showing up as $29.99 when placed in cart.
Not for me... I think you're looking at the used version.
