Gamestop's Power Up Program is finally coming over to the Bay Area stores, so keep an eye out for that.

Not too sure about the rest of California, so if others from Socal and so on can confirm if it's at their store or not also.

But it will officially launch next week on Wednesday.

And remember, if you have an EDGE card already, you are eligible for the Pro and you will get a B2G1 coupon to use as part of signing up.

Glad we're finally getting it here in the Bay Area.

It could also be nationwide finally as well after getting test runs in lots of other markets across the country.
nice, might get the Pro rewards card
If you already have an EDGE card, it's an automatic upgrade.

The non-pro are for people without an EDGE card, so just remember that if you have an EDGE card already, it will be free.

i believe it will be in the south bay next week. i spoke to a salesman and he claimed that the store managers went to a meeting recently in order to be informed about this program coming next week.
For the B2G1 free that we get with pro, we can use it any time? or do we HAVE to use it right then, right there?
It expires 11/30, at least that's what the expiration date is for my coupon.

Not sure if this is for everyone.

Thanks, I actually just got mine a couple days ago and saw it was a Pro card, which kinda confused me at first, but thanks for clarifying. Only thing I don't know now is that if I choose to use trade-in credit I've accumulated, do I use the PowerUp card or the Edge card?

The Power Up card actually replaces your EDGE card, so when they upgraded you they should have told you to either throw your EDGE card away or they should have taken it away from you since the EDGE card shouldn't be active after you've upgraded. Also the EDGE card doesn't tie to your Power Up actively, so if you use your EDGE card, it's actually a different account number and so on and you won't get pointed for the stuff you have purchased.

I don't know if anyone has come across this yet, but my birthday's coming up and I got an e-mail saying I'd get double points for the entire month of October. Not bad.

does anyone know if i replace my edge card with the new card will i receive the b2g1 coupon? i was thinking you might have to add a year of the card for 15 dollars on top of the time you have left on your edge card to get the b2g1 coupon.

I just got my card last Friday, and I activated it and 2 days later I got the coupon I didn't have to do anything to get it. You find it on your dashboard on the power up rewards website.
Any news on this coming to So Cal?
its starting tomorrow in LA at least the locations i frequent

I recently moved within LA and when I got to the new place, I stopped into the local Gamestop and told them I would like to update my address for the edge card and the mag and they said they could only do it if I bought something - smooth fucking move GS - way to rape a customer out of another dollar...so I tried to buy a MS battery pack for my 360 controllers but of course you can't just get the battery alone anymore, so I said screw that

I'm shocked by this for a product still being used by millions, to not just sell a single battery for it - more insultingly - it's like MS slapped us with their manginas because the product WAS on the market and they pulled it for the slightly more expensive play-n-charge kits (so I can have 5 cables I don't need ?). Now that MS battery docking station I have is useless since I just bought energizer ni-cads in the end.

Oh well, I hope this mail forwards from my old addy, sometimes stuff like this is consisdered junk and not forwarded by the PO. fucking Lamestop (and MS) :hot:
Hmm.. I guess my b2g1 coupon isn't showing up. Did it take a while after registering?
It takes a couple of days normally, so it's not immediate.

If you have money on your EDGE card when you get transferred over, you have to transfer it onto the PUR card right then and there. Otherwise, you still need to keep that old EDGE card until you use up the money on it.

From what we were told, only new signups are eligible for it. If you get transferred from an EDGE card, you do not get the coupon.

That's not true, because I transferred over and got my coupon 2 days later and I know many others who transferred and got their coupons with no troubles.

The only thing you can't choose to do if you're transferring over is the option to switch to digital Game Informer, since that will only be offered to new sign ups or if you're up for renewal.

Thanks, it's weird since the person that helped me at GS actually told me to hold on to the Edge card since my trade-in credit is on it, but now I'm starting to think that the credit should have transferred to the new Rewards card. Luckily I still have my Edge card, so I'll head back to GS to find out what the hell is going on, also I gotta preorder Fable III LE.

It looks like Gamestop employees can suggest games for you based on what you bought in the past since they can now track your transaction history.
I flipped a multiple copies of games a few months ago, would they be able to track trade-in's as well?
I'm concerned if they get suspicious of me based on my transaction history.

What I don't get is why the 10$, 25$, 50$ can only be used online by collecting all the points. I thought you would be able to use it in the store.

And then it takes a long while just for your points to be added it still says pending for me hopefully they're added by tomorrow.
