GameStop Pre-order Question

A few months ago I put $5 down on Gears 3 at GS. Two days ago I ordered the game from Amazon. I don't want to make the drive to GS to cancel my pre-order, so what happens when the game is released? Am I obligated to buy the game or lose my $5, or will the money be refunded to my GS account?

Please let me know. Thanks.

The $5 stays on your account until you either pick up the game, move it to another game, or cancel it and get your money back.

I'm pretty sure I still have $5 floating on my account somewhere that's still sitting on a preorder of Mafia 2 because I keep forgetting to move it to something else.
