GameStop Price Drop - Atlus' My World, My Way DS - $9.99

Not a bad price, since it costs 30$+ used on ebay. Don't know if the game is any good. Did it suck or just pass under the radar?

I thought it was a pretty fun game, but I think the cover turned a lot of people off, and it went out of print like two weeks after release.

some, not all. There is only one GS near me(that know of) that throws away the cases for used DS games. (which is fucking stupid IMHO)

I picked this up new just after release at the big independent game store and the guy helping me asked if the game was for my daughter. I just smiled and said sure. It's not a bad game, but just be aware that it's basically Master of the Monster Lair with some sprite swaps and many shared graphic and gameplay elements on the same basic gameplay engine.

Thanks that's what I thought was discussed elsewhere on here.

Thank God not all do. Luckily, none of the ones near me do.

If GameStop's wanna save room, they could just get rid of all the PS2 crap littering their stores.

A fair amount of Atlus' games look the same, but they seem to know how to freshen them up enough each time.

Personally, I got bored of Master of the Monster Lair fast.

Then you're not gonna enjoy this game. It's literally the same exact gameplay engine and probably 80% of the same graphics with a different story and new lead characters.

Oh, they've already done that. My Gamestop stores throw away the cases of all PS2 games that are $4.99 and under in order to save room. They keep the discs in sleeves near the register.

By the way, this thread reminded me of Silkk the Shocker's album of the same name.

I wonder if Silkk the Shocker's album and the DS game could work together in a similar fashion to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" with the original "Wizard of Oz" film. For some reason, I doubt it...

The company that made :psp:Dungeon Maker toned it down and made Master of the Monster Lair. The dungeons in My World, My Way are actually made by the Master of the Monster Lair protagonists.

My GF does like this game though, and actually finished it.

Is it really some? All of the ones near me sell them as cart only... and we've got some HUGE GameStops around here.

So far there's only one around me that gets rid of DS cases (unfortunately also the only one nearby that has My World, My Way used :bomb:). They said they needed the space. There are stores that have less floor space but still have used DS cases. All the other stores have stopped using generic cases, though, so that saves a lot of space since most stores don't have many complete DS games to begin with.

The dumping of cases for PS2 games $4.99 was gradual in my area. At first it was a couple, then before you knew it all them had the bins of sleeved games.

Same... ALL the Gamestops I have been to in the last 6 months have the DS games in a case, cart only. I have NO IDEA why they cleared out the cases. I understand mall stores, but standalone ones should have the cases for ALL used stuff, considering there is TONS of open space in the store. I was just in one of my local ones last week and they were tossing ALL sub-$4.99 PS2 cases. ... *SIGH*...

Yikes. I guess that's why I rarely find anything used worth buying for my DS. I figure if I'm paying $10-15 for a used game, it better come with a case.

Probably not, but it would certainly make the music less fucking repetitive.

Not a bad game at all if you don't mind a grind heavy, difficult rpg. Don't let the cover fool you into thinking its some kiddy or girly game, this one is basically as hardcore jprg as it gets. The game is amusing because it actually makes fun of itself as a grind heavy rpg while you are playing exactly that. (The heroine actually flat out tells monsters she's out to kill them for their "experience" so she can get stronger, heh)

i got this game day one and while it was fun the first time i picked it up and beat it (i think it was around a 20 to 40 hour game) I was able to find it used at a 2nd hand store a few months later and i hated the game....

if you can find the game for 10 its worth it... not worth it for 30...

if it was sealed i would drive the 25 miles each way to get it....

and about asking if you get the box and book in store.. MANY MANY STORES have tossed all of the DS cases in the junk cause they said they need more room for PS3, wii and 360 games...

all 3 stores here now carry cart only mostly

more price drops i see

Jigapix Wild World for Nintendo DS 6
Mazes of fate DS 7 good luck finding
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier 10
Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard for 13

I bought this when it first came out and never got around to playing it. Then a few months ago my wife started playing it. I don't remember her talking about it much, and after a few days she went back to Animal Crossing and Pokemon, so I don't even know if she beat it. I guess I should communicate with my wife more.

I was able to grab a sealed copy from a closing GameCrazy early last year for like $12. Although, $10 for a used copy is still decent. Good find op!
