Gamestop price drops fallout 3 GOTY/Venetica $30 many others

gamestop needs to step their game up. they offer the least for trade ins and are rarely the best price for a game. I am hoping for a few good deals since I have about $300 in credit to burn up... Didn't find it this time but thanks OP.

I can't count how many times I've walked into a Gamestop looking for something reported here as on clearance - or just looking to kill some time - and awkwardly walked out with nothing because there are zero items at an agreeable price. And the more it happens, the more awkward it becomes...

Yeah, I realize I could call ahead when I'm looking for something, but that would require me to have faith that they know what I'm talking about.

You aren't the only one. I used to do much of my game shopping at gamestop, until I found the wonder that is amazon.com

Now, maybe once eveyr two months or so I will check out gamestop to see if they have any decent sales. I don't think I have actually purchased anything from them in over a year.

This happens to me a lot too. I actually get comments sometimes of "Hey, we haven't seen you in awhile." and I'm just like "uh...huh-huh, yeah...I've been busy". Which translates to: "Your used games look like shit, your prices suck, and you hardly ever have any sales/promos any more." There's hardly any reason to shop at GameStop any more unless they have some kind of computer glitch going on.

Same for me, I can't remember the last time I actually bought a game from LameStop. The used games are plastered with ugly stickers and often having missing or mutilated manuals, the gutted games they sell as "new" are a joke, and they just don't compete against online retailers much at all. Failsauce . . .
not bad added a few things to my wishlist for the next B2G1
most the time, don't they jack the price up for B2G1?

yeah it sickens me to my stomach that they open shit and then sell it as new but gutted an opened game isnt they let their dumbass employees take stuff home and sell it new thats like selling a house as new because its only been rented out

*sigh* All this talk of how much Gamestop sucks reminds me of how much I miss ebgames, they used to have tons of deals ... real deals.

i remember when gamestop even had good email coupons, but now the only time i even think about gamestop is when there is a glitch or a super low priced game like frontmission evolved or hawx2 for $20 that i can lock in tiv and free rent a month. I used to have $500+ credit, but i blew it all on ps3 move bundle and some psn cards cuz gamestop is fail lately. plus i can't buy anything online cuz im banned, argh. not like i would anyway except the online glitches, oh wellz

Yeah, the GameStop email coupons and used deals of the week were generally pretty good back then. Now the only time I buy anything is like you said, when there is some sort of coupon glitch.

Actually, what it's more similar to is resetting the odometer on a car and trying to sell it as new...which is illegal.

i love how gamestop clerks flat out laugh in my face when I respond to their sales pitch with "another place has a better/cheaper pre order deal and you don't match"

they act like being able to stand in line at midnight at their store is better than a free release date shipment with prime AND an extra $20 coupon.

and when they have C&C red alert (ps3) for 35.00 USED (50 new) and i scored one for 10 on clearance at TRU you know they hardly keep track of their prices.

I am never going to get rid of this $300 credit.

Just buy stuff you really want at release. Credit never goes away. Or if you really feel like getting rid of some, send a free game my way. :)

ohhh very tempted on the venetica 30$ at amazon. i got 20$ of trade credit from poke black/white to burn. anyone here play the game on ps3?? i know perfect example of a recent bad review but gem of a game is trinity souls of zill oll. the game is amazing and all the users say it is too. is venetica good or wait til it gets lower to play???

When I tell them another place is cheaper and/or has a $10 pre-order bonus they tell me about the pre-order skins/guns like I wouldn't rather have the discount instead. Or they hit me with the buy it used in 2-3 weeks but I'm like I can buy it day 1 at bestbuy for $60, get a $10 RZ cert & price match it down to $40 w/i 45 days effectively making the game $30.
$300 in credit..NGP is coming soon or just wait for b2g1.

What exactly do you want them to say?

They can't lower the prices, the best they can do is brush you off politely and ignore you, the worst they can do is to tell you to get out of the store which they are supposed to do.

Will be picking up Fallout 3 GOTY to use some of my credit, thanks OP.

I just sign up for Game Informer once a year and buy the occasional ol'skool title on the cheap when I find a decent case for it...sigh...EB had so much more to offer, I used to love the extra $5 with each trade promos....
