Gamestop PS3 RPG Price Drops

Still waiting for the SKU for Premium Pak of Totori to merge with the regular edition like Rorona's did.
Is Ar Tonelico Qoga the Premium edition? Or did Nisa start producing a standard version of the game.
Premium Edition

Premium Edition
Doesn't state on the site that its the premium edition though, been burned by gamestop before sending me a standard edition of a game even when the picture appeared to be the premium box.

There is no regular version of the game, hence why it doesn't say Premium Edition. If you're thinking about what happened with Hyperdimension Neptunia's Premium Edition, that was merged because all them sold out rather quickly before they reprinted it as game only.

Now, that doesn't mean that GS kept the extras of course... they frequently lose the additional content for these items.

Don't think they've really done a standard edition. Best bet would be to just look up store locations for availability. In fact, the game doesn't even seem to be in print anymore as it's not even on NISA's site right now.

You mean like how they lost the Onlive codes for Deus Ex last year, right?

Don't be fooled, this has to be the just the game, cause NIS normally doesn't reprint their SEs.

Like I said - it's not in print anymore. If it was, they'd list it on their site. GameStop's likely just trying to clear out the game quicker because the box takes up more space, as it and Atelier Rorona have large boxes compared to Atelier Totori's Premium Edition box.

I have no idea how that's related...

The reason why they threw those out was because it was for a competing digital distribution service. Additionally, they ended up giving people the full purchase price back and let them keep the game.

Last I check, GS didn't have a competing service for boxes and artbooks. There's no benefit for them to throw out the premium contents for this game. And this isn't a reprint. They're clearing out their stock. I already called a few local stores and they've confirmed that it's a gut but complete with the bonuses. If it was a reprint, it would be in stock online before any stores got copies.

Some of the workers at Gamestop near me will actually take the premium contents for themselves and sell the game by its lonesome even if its listed as new.

That's what I figured Vinny meant when he said some GS stores 'lost' the extras. I'd frequently hear from the employees at the closest GS store about how they had all this gaming swag that came from CE/SE/LE's that people would trade in or that they converted to used.

But I imagine that sometimes the extras from the CE/SE/LE versions of games that customers came in and bought and didn't specifically ask for the extras would go home with the employees at night's end.

Looks like only one store in my area might have one - but it's low stock. I did a Pick Up In Store, and we'll see if it's complete. If it is, yay!

Either way, thanks OP!

Go. Away.

Yay! Another perfectly normal thread turning into a GameStop hate thread! Now, can someone please talk about this issue with them selling opened games as "new."

Har har el oh el insert FailStop joke here!

On a serious note, can we please just discuss the deals and quit with the conspiracy theories?

Glad you guys had success finding sealed copies, I got mint copies of Ar Tonelico and Atelier Totori at my stores, but no bonus goodies. ah well

I didn't find any PS3 RPGs.. but I did find a metroid prime trilogy at my local shop. $62.99 woot.

Found a used standard copy of Ar Tonelico Qoga without the extras at one of my local shops. It shows as the last one within 60 miles. Another store shows a new copy though, so I'm gonna check that out to see if I can get the extras.

Not really trying to troll, just reminding the evidence.

But all animosities from me and FailStop aside, Ar Tonelico Qoga is a damn fun game. If you can find it all together, it's worth it I suppose. I bought it from the NIS website a while ago and got the calendar too.

Son of a *****!!! I bought almost ALL of those games when they were more expensive and I haven't played ANY of them yet! GRRRRR!!!

Picked up a brand new/sealed copy of Atelier Totori premium pak earlier today ($34.99 after $5 rewards points coupon); this doesn't seem too hard to find in my area, so good luck to those who are having a hard time finding it.

Already have the premium version of Ar Tonelico so I'll probably pick up Trinity as well, been on my wishlist forever, can't say no at this price! :D
How's Trinity Souls of Zill O'Ill?
I spent several weeks 100%-ing it last summer and I loved it!
It's an action-RPG that plays a bit like Dynasty/Samurai Warriors, but also incorporates magical attacks.
Also, you control a team of 3 characters you can cycle through at any time to take advantage of their individual skills.
The main story is a pretty interesting tale and the game has tons of side quests and even a hidden casino mini-game that can be unlocked midway through the game.

I paid about ~$40 for my copy last year and it was worth every penny - $20 or less is a steal!

I second this thought. I loved it as well! It was worth every penny!

I did too and haven't finished any of them except Rorona but I feel no remorse since I'm helping NIS. I order them from the site since they give out cool stuff with their games. Flame me if you must but hate aside, it helps them to buy it direct.

So don't feel bad dude, someday I will finish Qoga.
Damn, all of the stores that have Ar Tonelico Qoga are "low stock" so I bet they're all gutted copies.
That's what I thought, but I called all the stores anyway, and I happened to find one with a sealed copy. I was surprised since my local stores generally gut everything, including pc games.

The sealed premium edition copy was the only one left, so in my case, the store didn't even have a display copy.

I just bought Atelier Totori and Ar Tonelico Qoga less than a week ago. I paid the $40 for Qoga, but I paid $40 for Totori. Will Gamestop to a refund on the difference if I bring it in? Would I have to do a return and rebuy?

2 copies of ar tonelico nearby... hopefully I can get to them and have one sealed this time. Atelier Totori however, is at 9 shops, one of them even showing *in stock* and not *low stock*! Here's to hoping my paycheck goes through soon...

If you're within the 7 day return period, you shouldnt have any trouble getting a adjustment.

Is Ar Tonelico Qoga worth picking up from a collectors stand point and a gamer stand point? Havent played the series but love JRPG's. Not sure if I should get a copy and keep it around sealed...or open it and play it?

Buy two copies and open one.
If you like niche JRPGs you will most likely like it.

Qoga was the first game of the series I played.

Anyway I bought Trinity. What's up with Gamestop taking off the shrink wrap off of new games and putting stickers on them?

welcome to gamestop
these games look pretty bad, (judging from gameplay videos) why are they so expensive?
Low print runs/niche create a demand.

Thank you OP for the info.

I was able to grab a copy of Ar Tonelico Qoga still in the plastic cover. The store I went to didn't have the game displayed, so I had to ask the guy there if it was in stock. I'm glad I thought ahead and brought up the game on my phone using their website, since I nor the employee I chatted with could pronounce it. It took a while but the guy brought it out and rang it up. I've been wanting to try this series out.

Nothing too crazy but a used copy of Ar Tonelico Qoga goes for $60+ dollars complete on amazon and ebay and a sealed copy for over 100

Happy Hunting!
Just wanted to clarify that Atelier Totori is for the standard version. The premium version is $40.

Trinity is worth every penny by the way, I bought it off a CAG when it first came out for I believe $45 and it was my surprise game of the year last year.
