Gamestop - Save 200$ When you Trade in 8 games*!

From the way I read the promo, it looks like they replace the trade value of the games you're trading with a $200 credit off of a console, meaning you lose the original trade in value. Thus this really only a good deal if you can find stuff that currently trades in for around $8-$12 or so...

Edit: LOL seen, I just noticed the Canadian requirement as well. This thread needs to edited immediately before people start bashing the OP like crazy.

Actually since it is 8 games = $200 the games themselves would have to be worth over $25 in trade value for this to be a bad deal. Good Find!

Nice find! But I don't think it's that good because you have to trade in $8 dollar games and if they're worth that much in gamestop they're probably still kinda new and u can probably can get moe money for it on Ebay.

Considering you're losing the benefit of a 40% (30% boost coupons and 10% Edge) boost, you're only breaking even w/ ~$17.50 games, and in my subjective opinion, it wouldn't be worth the hassle of trying to gather up eight titles unless they were somewhat better than breaking even, hence my $8-$12 range.

But all of that is moot since I ain't Canadian, nor do I monitor their deals or trade-in values.

If you click edit, and then go advanced on your original post, you can edit the title and save the mods from having to do so.

Does it matter what consoles the games are for? If you could find eight games for the PS2, XBox, or some cheaper 360 games, this deal can really save you some money. Of course, the best plan of action is to find eight games that are worth as close to $8 as possible to maximize the deal. Trading in eight games with a value of $8 or more would net you $64, and with the %40 (coupon plus edge) would only net you a total of $89. So, if you're in the market for a new console, this would actually be a total savings of $100+ after subtracting the value of your traded games.

...and moved to the Regional forum

Also, that would be a great deal for US. Oh well, there will hardly be any promos with console discounts...

There's some EBGames over in Windsor, Ontario which is only about a 40 minute drive from where I live in metro detroit area. I doubt I have 8 games that I want to trade that are worth $8 at Ebgames though.

So I read, and reread, and read the PDF printout (fine print) again - and I dont see anything that indicates that this is a Canadian deal, or not. Someone care to clue me in?

I did the same thing and can't find it. Either we are really oblivious or are blind.

Perhaps a little of both. Either way - I'm glad I wasn't alone on this one. HAHA

Anyway - since the fine print doesn't specify Territory.. is there a possibility that you could make this happen at a United States location.. I wonder.

well... just take a look at the link and you'll notice it says ebgames.ca

When I see something really cool like this from EB/GS, I assume it's Canada unless proven otherwise. They get tons of awesome deals.
