gamestop store credit

someone is selling me his gamestop store credit. since i have never bought "store credit" like this, can you guys give me some suggestion of something i need to watch out. right now i am worrying if it's transferrable. if it's not transferrable, will the seller be able to use the credit online after selling me the store credit?

Yeah, but if it's on a card, he'll have to send the card. No problem with the receipt versions.

It's transferable, but in the way that you can just give it to someone, since you don't be "John Doe" or someone to use it.
 
Ya store credit alwasys goes on a card there. He would need to send you the actual card, you can ask him to check the cards balance online then email you the balance page so you can see it for yourself.

Yes and technically you don't need the card since you can pull the balance off of it by merely using the card number. Only using it online would you need the PIN number off of the back.
 
safest way, would be if buying locally, would be meet at store check the balance and when done buy something to use the balance. If nothing you want return within 7 days and they will put the credit on another card
