And for the record, I wasn't just defending the site to defend it. I was defending it because I seriously believed it was being wrongfully judged.

and sheesh was an ass and he left and we are celebrating it... what is wrong with that? if the site owner agrees that he is a an ass why can't he celebrate his leaving?
 
Amusingly, any defense of GameTZ that may have been attempted in this thread really just made it look worse to everyone else.

Yeah, sure it did. Don't take into account that I've pretty much proved that indeed was the user that left GameTZ just trying to make it look bad and I was right all along, but whatever.
 
You, Doc. Sarvis, are the perfect argument for not allowing users to create threads until they've been here for a certain amount of time.

Outrage, you dickface, if you spent as much time trying to fix your useless fantasy baseball team as you did responding to this thread you might...well, you still aren't making the playoffs, but you'd at least be in the upper half of the losers bracket.

GTZ is a great trading site. If all the forum bullshit is a turnoff, then make your list, make your want list, post topics ONLY in the trading/classifieds forums, and you should be just fine and avoid the drama. Simple as that.

GameTZ is a wonderful site to engage in pleasant bartering with our largely trustworthy and diverse community. The forums, unlike the individual trades, are unrated and the content will vary immensely depending on what you visit. Sheesh took full advantage of Bill and the mods' policy of light moderation and consistently pushed the boundaries of what the community would tolerate. Whether it was politically-charged hate speech or vicious personal attacks, the community eventually pushed back and really, I saw a change in the attitudes of people when Chris became entrenched within the site. Long story short, Zinda claims he got a poopsenders gift, went absolutely insane, probably sent some nasty e-mails, had his forum privilages suspended, requested to have his account taken down, and left the site. I don't speak for the site owner, but my understanding was that Bill really tried to work with Sheesh throughout his GTZ stay, multiple times, but Sheesh kept crawling back into his troll mentality.

GameTZ forums have always been enjoyable and civil, but with the departure of Chris, the General Forum is no longer a place where newcomers should feel intimidated. Bring your views with you, no matter how different they might be. If you can be respectful of other users and lend to the hilarity (or not), we welcome you :D

The numbers speak for themselves. I just all 4 sites for my trading needs, but GameTZ by far gets the most of the time since it's the easiest to get trades done. On CAG, every thinks they have gold to trade, but that everyone else has crap. User A will say I'm stupid for sending an offer of my "Dead Space" for their "Prototype" but come right back with an offer of their "Madden NFL 2008" for my "Chrono Trigger".

I'm happy that I found CAG, don't like the idea of "points" at Goozex, and was taken aback by the general tenor of the forums at GameTZ - particularly the current most visited post on the site that appears to be "sticky'd" in the General area soliciting for the raffle I mentioned in my original post.

While researching GameTZ as Outrage suggested, I also saw a thread that a user who is a teacher that left the site because he was stalked by another member at GameTZ. Apparently, someone there sent his employer an anonmyous message that almost got him fired, pointing to his posts on the site. Who needs that kind of thing happening to them from trading on a game trading website? Seems to me it says something about the culture around there.

Anyone who picks just one trading site is limiting their market of available games. There's no reason that Gametz, Goozex, or CAG have to be competitors.
 
As a relatively neutral observer, I like how the OP gave a good go of the site in 2 hours and used the word "Desperate" it.

That would be like me submitting a thread titled "CAGcast Pathetic?" and standing behind my assessment after listening to the first five minutes of a random CAGcast.
 
outrage dont even bother with these people. They dont understand. Sheesh was a dick. He was/is the only person I EVER filtered. He would thread crap every thread like no tomorrow and turn it into a political rant that involved nobody. He was a crappy trader and acrappy user and I for one am glad he left. After I leave GameTZ which will be a couple weeks im sure a bunch of users will be happy as well but nothing compared to Sheesh. He was the only GTZ user to have 99.9% of Gametz hate him. The other .1% are users who never met him.

my bad. didnt notice that. No i am not the brightest bulb, or the most colorful crayon, or the sharpest nail on the foot, or the saaltiest chip in the bag. I am a few fries short of a happy meal, a few tacos short of a combination platter, a few colors short of a rainbow, a few blades short of a lawn, a few pillows short of a bed, etc.

He guy just proved he's a troll with a grudge against GameTZ. That post was deleted over a month ago. So how would he have JUST seen it at Outrages suggestion :applause:

Anyways GameTZ is like all internet sites. We have our trolls, our spammers, etc who usually get ostracized and removed from site pretty fast. Other users are kinda in the grey area. Basically there isn't as much moderation on CAG in the forums or chat. People go, have a good time and some get carried away and do stupid crap.

Overall most of the members on the site are great people. I've been a member there for 10 years (in 2 weeks) and have done 620 trades on the site.

I use goozex, CAG, and Gametz and each one has their strengths and weaknesses. To be blunt CAG has the worst trading interface out of the 3 and its a nightmare to track my trades here but I find it to be the best site hands down for deal and gaming information while gametz is by far better for direct trading.
