It all depends on quality... If you want somewhat decent quality, then a 1GB memory stick but even then, you'll be looking at ~3/4 the quality of an UMD. Of course, Sony thought of everything (as someone already mentioned) because there is a resolution limit to movies from memory sticks.

They seriously need to get off Memory sticks, they're crap. Give me compact flash anyday- they've been around longer and are much cheaper.

Why buy UMDs? Because the quality is awesome and you can watch movies on the go. No need to buy a 1gig stick, and take the time to convert a movie, only to be "meh" quality.

I can't say for sure with Best Buy, but I know that at other places the receipt specifically states that you bought the items together and won’t let you finagle a return like that.
I imagine Best Buy does something along those lines so that people won’t ‘steal’ $5 games from them.

I think they're running another 15% off gaming accessories sale, since when I checked on something a couple days ago, it was on the front page for whatever game accessories page I was on.

They might deduct the price of the $15 difference from MC3, so if you return MC3, you get back $35 instead of $50.

Target's done that in the past with items that provide gift cards w/purchase, or other stores average out the price when it's B1G1 or B1G1for1/2off.

Your kidding right? Sony made it so you can't watch the movies at the screen res off a memory stick? Well that's reason enough for me to not want this hand held. I thought it was a hard sell for $250 anyway but to not be able to play good quality movies off the memory stick is bull shit.
