Gaming Magazines at Amazon: PSM $5, OXM w/disc $20, PC Gamer $15 - Free Shipping
I think $25 maybe....

Is PSM any good?
I got a free sub a while ago even though I didn't have a PS2, but I paid for a sub when I had one. It was pretty good, there were decent DVD reviews, I got more than an occasional chuckle out of some of the writing, it's worth getting if you play PS2, I'm not sure to what degree it has PS3 stuff now.

PSM is ok...worth it for $5 a year. There isn't a whole lot in there that you won't already know if you're a frequent visitor to IGN or Gamespot. But for $5, you don't need much.

You gotta be kidding me. I have NEVER seen a renewal deal on OXM with disc (I didn't even know 3rd parties sold any mags with disc), and I see this 1 DAY after I renew. That's what I get for renewing early instead of waiting until I miss an issue to renew.

Nice, probably going to get PC Gamer.

The damn magazine was $8.99 PER ISSUE when I went to buy it... that is insane.

Should put it in the OP, I almost didn't click the link ;)

Thanks Cheapy!

PSM is a great magazine. I get PSM, Game Informer, EGM, and Nintendo Power and PSM is one of my favorites. Great coverage of the PS3 and dwindling coverage of the PS2/PSP (just like any other mag).

It took a while for the subscrition to start. I did have to call customer service to find out why, but I did eventually get it for a kick ass price.

Thanks a ton, I jumped on that PC Gamer one. That's 25 cents per issue for the next two years!

What ended up being the problem with your sub?
Is there any reason to get OXM with the disc? Isn't everything on it also available for free at the Marketplace?
Sometimes OXM offers demos early and special free marketplace downloads.

i'm in for $5 for PSM, even if nothing good in there, there are good artwork pics right? i often use magazines for art references, i.e. inspirations for various art projects. Thanks op!

Wow! This is awesome. I've wanted PC Gamer for a long time now (especially after I started listening to the podcast). And for $5, I'll bite on PSM too.

I want Maximum PC too, though after instant rebate it's $19. That's $6 off.

Nope. A few months ago they had some pay Oblivion DLC free on the disc. That's the exception, but it was worth a sub for me. Especially since they said it was something they planned to do more of. They also have a new MMO sort of game on each disc that I haven't tried yet.

They said something like ESPN wasn't sending out any more new subscriptions this period or quarter or something like that. But i got during its next period. So intead of 4-6 weeks it took me 4 months. But its was definately worth the price.

Decent deal on the OXM. The magazine is pretty much garbage but their discs are usually decent and I think they are supposed to have more exclusive content recently.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Ebay yet. You can get everything else there cheap - why not magazines?

I ordered a 3 year subscription to PC Gamer for only $9 last week, and my account already shows as active on the magazine's website. Of course, you won't be getting any demo discs this way since the orders are placed with fulfillment houses, and you'll sometimes miss other bonuses that might be packed in with the magazines like posters, but if you want just the magazine, try Ebay.

Just make sure you order from those with stellar feedback.

Do these work for canada? I wouldnt mind getting them as a present for my brother while hes in the hospital.

UPDATE: Just read the fine print. Once again, I'm SOL.

I already read Nintendo Power, EGM, PC Gamer, Game Informer, Wired, and Entertainment Weekly.

While the subscription to PSM is very cheap, my question is, is it worth my time to read considering everything I already read.

Of course, this is even counting all the time I spending reading news on the Internet...

The espn the mag sounds good but I dont like it took 4 months to get the subscription. NBA finals would be over I would just get NFL coverage.

I don't think my experience was typical. But also with espn mag subscription you get an espn insider acount for free, you just need to go to espn.com sign up for an insider membership and put it you subscription number(located right above your address on the magazine cover)

All the magazines use their pre-discount price for getting super saver shipping on orders over $25 (for the rest of your order). So if you want something else that's $16 (like I did) you can get the PSM order for $5 and still qualify for free shipping.

Yea, I would bit on the OXM, but i Want the disc

I've been thinking about subscribing to OXM again... just might have to jump on this. Nice that I can take my time deciding since this deal's good for the whole month.

Thanks Cheapy - I just picked up the PSM for $5 and PC Gamer for $15.

I figure that I'll get more than $20 worth of entertainment from the mags, and it will actually give me something to look forward to when I check the mail (instead of my credit card bills!)

To anyone having problems - it will show up as normal price in your cart at first. When you go to the confirmation screen to submit your order, you will see the promotional discount applied to the total there. You won't see it before then....

There are no shipping fees at all....no matter what your final total is.
BTW, this thread belongs in the video game deal forum....its a gaming-related deal.
