Gaming Mouse

Just an update, got my E-Blue Cobra from Hong Kong today. Plugged it in and trying it now. Working great so far right now. Lighter, but build is a lot more solid than the Rosewill and a very nice scroll wheel! We'll see in a week.

I still have a Diamondback that I picked up in an EBGames clearance bin for ten bucks in 2003. Runs like a champ!
 
I've never used the G9x, but I have used the G500 and currently use the G700. Only down side of the G700 is that the rechargeable battery it came with might last a max of 36 hours between recharges. Other than that, both are great. The G500 has the weight set like the G9x does.

I'm really just waiting till that damn left handed Naga comes out

If you're getting 36 hours max out of it, that's extremely good. I get maybe 10-12 hours max (I'm counting actual usage, not when it's not being used). It's a great mouse, but a wireless gaming mouse with good battery life doesn't exist so you've gotta expect that. I've had 2 of these mice, and both had the same battery life. I've gotten used to it after using a G7 for a few years which I think had worse battery life.

But if you like the Dragon Age 2 art on that one, Razer generally makes good products, so you wouldn't be going wrong with that.

Honestly, thanks for clarifying that about the battery. I had been thinking I got a bad battery and never got around to buying an actual rechargeable battery to replace it

Getting one with a consistent surface, and a texture you like the feel of.

If you really like the art on it, that's not a bad deal and I'd go for it. However, if you don't care much for the art or don't really need it to have art, you could pay $10 for a SteelSeries QCK pad which is probably similar in quality.

Yeah, the battery they give you (SANYO eneloop) is actually a really good brand. I use the same exact batteries in most of my gaming accessories and they last a while. The G700 has a design flaw that limits the mouse so it can only hold 1 battery, which is kind of silly.. imagine how much battery life it could get with 2 AA batteries lol.

ahh. ever since the advent of the optical mouse, I've just stopped using mouse pads all together. Unlike the rest of my desk spaces, I always keep the mouse area clear of anything that could cause inconsistencies and what not

I have the CM Spawn and I'm going to be replacing it fairly soon, I would have returned it but for the price it wasn't worth sending back to Newegg.. paying shipping and such.

First off it's just straight up uncomfortable. I bought it because it because of all the praise from claw grippers.. but the big issue for me is the rest is for your index finger, when I claw grip I usually have my index and pinky holding the mouse on the right side. The Spawn makes my pinky do all that work.. I felt like my pinky was going to fall off after the first day. I've gotten used to it now, but it's still not ideal.

My other complaint is the software, unfortunately the back/forward buttons can't be mapped to a generic mouse button like a lot of Logitechs and because of that if you want to assign it to a push to talk key you'll have to make the button a regular key on the keyboard which can be really annoying if you're in Mumble/TS/Whatever and in a browser.

Also the DPI is kind of off, I can't seem to find one that works really well. It's either too fast or too slow for me in general use..

Though I do prefer the G500.
