I just ordered the mgs hd collection limited edition from gamestop on monday and it arrive today. However, when I check the receipt... something is wrong.. I am being charge shipping and they bill me for full tax while I pay $60 of them in store credit. If I call and complain, think I would get partial refund?

No.
er... you don;t pay tax in gamestop store if u use store credit....
Yes you do. I worked there for four years, and can assure you that sales tax applies if you use store credit. The total of the purchase is figured BEFORE payment method is chosen. If gift card/store credit option is chosen, the price doesn't change.

And besides, you really thing they got it wrong, just for you? That's how they do it for everyone, because that's how it's supposed to be done.

Typical GameStop bait-and-switch scam. You should call BBB and get this sorted out. Good luck!

Depending on which state you live in(Delaware still has no sales tax, if I remember correctly), you may or may not have to pay sales tax on transactions made wholly in store credit.

Unfortunately the greedy sumbitches in PA changed it a while ago to where Gamestop had to begin charging the 6% sales tax on purchases, even if they were made solely with store credit.

This may be what happened in your case, OP.

Be lucky it's 6% by you, it's like 9.5-10% here.

But that's still 6% of a gift card/store credit that's lost imo and that you can't actually buy products with.
