I am just curious as to who some fellow CAGs think the GBA is for. I happen to be 18 and own a GBA SP. Should I unload it for a more "adult" system? Thoughts appreciated ;)

GBA appeals to people with interest in 2D gaming, as well as people with minimal portable needs

I know I only need portable games on trip, so a small library of GBA games with my cute pink GBASP is more than enough, I have my favorite classics and some good new games on it too..

If you really want to "move up" get a DS Lite, your GBA games will work on it and you'll have a few dozen more choices in games...especially with Pokemon and Phoenix Wright 2 on the way.

It appeals to everyone that loves to game!

Ive had it for a while and have had 4 different GBAs (2 GBA and 2 GBA SP)

I know what you mean about it being childish at times but thats the fun in it.

It IS nice and cheap.......and with a GBA Movie Player/Supercard/Flash Cart, one can do alot of things for relatively little money. Still, seeing Barbie games at my local Walmart sorta gets on me sometimes.....

With the ds out, it should only appeal to cheap grandparents who want to buy christmas presents. The ds does everything a gba does and more (for a little more cash of course)

No, it doesn't. You still need a GBA to play the GB and GBC games, plus the DS doesn't allow youto link up GBA games.

Well my guess is they'll sell the new model SPs this Christmas for forty bucks. Wal Mart has had a GBA system on sale the past two years and I don't see this year being any different.

It appeals to people who like great games. Ever play metroid, sword of mana, golden sun, breath of fire, mario, wario, final fantasy, megaman, those are all good, I consider them adult as I wouldnt consider Ivan from golden sun casting catastrophe and blowing the whole world up childish.

Im in my 30's and until I got my DSlite, I used my GBA:SP every single day. Its great for bus/train commutes to and from work.

Adult system? What exactly is an adult system? What the hell is wrong with people? Use your brain...do you like your SP? If the answer is "YES" than keep it. If the answer is "NO" then get rid of it.

Hahaha, I was about to comment on that, too.

Agreed, I'm in my 30's and I love my GBA. Lately my wife has been getting into it too, so I haven't been able to play it much. I'm threatening to buy her a Pearl Pink one so she'll quit using mine!

:) An adult system would be...well to the poster probably mindless violence with no story or porn. Though I wouldnt consider those even adult..wait..what?

yeah, ,you're right; kinda forgot about gb and gbc. But if you don't have games from thos systems (and don't care about linking gba games) then teh gba is pointless imo
