Ok, I want to buy the anniversary edition of the GBA MICRO. I already have the new brighter screen SP and know its suppose to be better than the micro but I am a stupid collector and don't care. Now back to my question. They sell an adapter on Nintendo.com to let you play mulitplayer games with other GBAs (all Versions) Does this adapter work with the GBA to gamecube cable so I can play games like Zelda Fourswords??
NOTE: I see on nintendo.com now that it doesnt work, however I do not see why not since the connections is the same. The only thing is the plastic snaps would obviously not come in to play. Anyone Try this???

I've actually asked the same questions with the same answer, being that there is no Micro to Gamecube support. My theory is that it is only because Nintendo does not sell a cable, thus I'm planning to construct my own cable.

I'm waiting on my GB Micro link cable & GB Micro converter cable from Nintendo. Since the Micro cables aren't sold in stores I didn't want to cut into those cables, thus the reason for ordering the Micro->GBA converter as well. Once that comes, I plan to hack apart one of the official Nintendo GBA link cables (this one) since it has a plug for the GBA link cable. So the end result should be:

GB Micro Cable -> GB Micro/GBA convertor -> GBA link port -> GBA/GC cable

I hope that all makes sense. Give me a few days and I'll post the results here. Of course, this will all fail if it has something to do with the hardware...

I strongly suspect it may be hardware related. I remember posting something that seemed to hint it was a hardware issue. I'll look for it and see if I can't find it. Best of luck to you though.

Right, that's the Micro link cable converter which converts the Micro plug into a GBA plug that goes straight into another GBA. They sell that and the micro link cable on the Nintendo website.

The bottleneck is the micro to SP cable. It's got one of each male and female.

You're going to have to hack into that so that you can connect it and the GCN to GBA cable in one smooth go. Good luck, and keep us posted.

I got my micro link cable in today, and it's not what I was expecting. It's exactly like the GBA link cable. It even has a port for a second micro link cable so that you can play 4-player games. Unfortunately, after further testing it appears that the only way I'm going to be able to get this to work is to cut the micro cable I just received and solder the wires onto the GC->GBA cable. I really wanted to leave this cable as-is but it just doesn't look possible. I hope to take a crack at it tonight.

It works! I've made a "prototype" cable (very messy) and successfully played a game of Pac Man Vs. with the cable. Pics coming soon. I think I should probably make a new topic once I get the full directions up for this. So exciting!
