GBA question

From my experience, the batteries would last about 6 sittings or so.

You'll want to get a pack of batteries from Costco if you plan to be a hardcore GBAer.

I don't really remember how long regular AA's last in the GBA. You can buy a 3d party rechargable battery pak at places like Meijers or maybe Kmart, although they are becoming harder and harder to find. from what I remember they ran about $10 and came with the AC adapter to charge the pak.

Sounds good. Any idea on how long they last?

A set of regular AA batteries will last you about 10-12 hours.
I've got the $10 rechargeable pack made by Pelican. It comes with 2 packs (so you have access to one while the other charges) and I think the instructions said they should last 10 hours on a full charge...don't remember it's been a long time since I bought them. However, I've found that after having them for so long they don't seem to hold their charge as long as they used to. Now I can charge up one pack overnight while I sleep and am lucky to get 3 hours out of them. For $10 bucks though I figure they've served me well to last as long as they have...plus I just ordered the NES SP.

Bonus: the molding in the back of the GBA that the batteries go into is the same on the back of the Wavebird controller. So the rechargeable pack fits into that as well.
the re-chargable battery is probably the second best feature on the GBASP. Right behind the backlit screen.
I second that.

Also, is the non-backlit screen on a GBA really that bad? My SP was awesome, but I ended up selling it, so now I'm buying a damn cheap GBA. But I'm afraid of the poor picture quality.

I guess you never tried turning off the backlight on the SP and play :)

and there is a reason for that.

please don't get the regular gba if you haven't yet, you'll just worsen your eye sight and then a pair of glasses or contacts will set you back much, much more than the $50 or so difference right now between SP and regular.

Heh, I totally forgot about that. Yeah, as a matter of fact, I did turn the light off. Man, I remember now. A world of difference.

Oh well, $30 for a GBA is too good a deal to pass up.

I've got a regular GBA and I am going to get rid of it as soon as possible. The screen is a nightmare to see, and most 3rd party lights show alot of glare, and they are major battery hogs. Buck up the extra cash, especially if you are going to play it quite a bit.

The GBA SP is great. The backlight is really helps. I almost always have it on.
Ive brought my SP to a theater before and played it before the trailers started.

Damn, it can't be that bad, can it?

No, you can buy one from a third party company for like $8-10 and they are really good. I used mine all the time.
