We all know where you're coming from, but there are those select titles that deserve ones full investment; GTA, Halo, GoW, etc. Mine was pretty much free due to the Trade 3 Get $10 extra @ GS. I probably spent $80 on all the games I traded in and got enough credit to get a Wii and Gears LE.
 
I am picking GoW up at EBgames on Friday when I wake up... which wont be until 2pm or 3pm since I work 3rd shift. Looking forward to seeing some of you online.
 
I am so ticked at my cc for not having it yesterday. I preordered it there only because I had a gc. The FYE by me also had none. They both blamed it on FedEx. They are claiming to have it today. Does anyone know if it is possible to return the preorder amount back to a cc gc?
 
I went to Gamestop last night after I was told that no one in Pittsburgh had the game.. I pulled my preorder.. went to Circuit City... heard the same story.. I went to Best Buy.. and bought the game no problem...
 
so is everyone paying the retail price of $60 for this game?? as a true CAG. i dont want to pay that lol.

I used the 15% off coupon in OXM for CC. So came to about $50 after tax and I should also get the free faceplate.

I paid 45 EB credit, 15 cash. Well worth every penny.
 
has anyone been getting disc read error's with this game?? i got it like twice. Once right before i fought the boss to Act 1, and another at the start of Act 2.

I bought it from that Family Video deal for $45. I then picked it up on the 7th at EB with a preorder and used my $20 credit. I'll be returning the FV copy to EB when I get it.

Play it in co-op otherwise its near impossible. This way if you die youre buddy can revive you. I tried playing by myself and its freaking hard.

yea there must of been like 2 or 3 specific parts where i must of died more than 10 times and i still havent completed act 1.i guess it made me better though.had to use strategy and shit... will tackle it when i get home.. maybe ill try co op later..

I just got one, I was in Act 1. It sounded like my 360's drive was eating the disc, then it came up and said "This disc is unplayable."



This sucks, now I'm afraid to play it again so that it won't break my 360. Maybe it has something to do with the cache? I've never cleared it before, and frankly, I don't know how.


When you go down to play game on the dashboard, and hit A, do you continue to hold A (meaning not let go) until the menu of GoW comes up?

I have a friend who is really busy with work/high school. I couldn't wait for GameStop shipment today so I bought one at BB last night. I'm gonna go pay my game in full (have $51 trade in credit already) at GS and offer it to him for $45. All I want it cash so why not help out a friend. fuck corporations

DUDE! It's only been 24 hours! Take that shit back to the store and tell them the error problem. Have them play it on their 360 to prove otherwise.
 
Man Co-op is what makes this game so dope! I've been waiting for a good co-op game that actually SAVES your progress with your buddy over Live.

Yeah but the only thing that I have to complain about this game is that it only allows you one save. That means, if you try to play the game solo after you played co-op you have to either start where you left off with your buddy or restart from scratch and lose your save. Don't know why they did this.

So what happens if you just join someone else's game for some co-op, does that mean your file will be replaced with that person's file? I think you can at least start from the beginning of each act if you've unlocked it, just not the checkpoints. Is that right?

If I bought it at EBX how long do I have to return it? 7 days if I opened it? Becuase they don't have any extra, I just called.

I believe that part about starting Chapters over is correct but I'm afraid to try it. If you find out, let me know.:lol:
 
I don't know what the exact days are. But in terms of defects, it could be your system or the game. I'd say just bring it in today and tell them honestly that you are not sure if it's the game or your system and you'd like them to boot it on their 360 in the store to see if it works (just so your's stay safe if it is, in fact, the disc's problem).

I played straight through the beginning to Act 2 on Hardcore with my cousin, then I jumped in a game with a friend who just started on the tutorial level, and we only got halfway through Act 1 since it was already pretty late. I'll post later on if I get screwed on my save file. I just assumed that single player and co-op had different save files, but you can invite someone to your game and then it transforms into a co-op game right on the spot; so if Linkin was right about only having one save file, then I'm screwed.:bomb:

If anyone has any information how the save system works, let us now please. Thanks.

Yeah I've played almost through Act 4 on Hardcore on and off Co-Op and solo by inviting friends into my games but I have't joined anyones game yet from fear of losing my checkpoint save. The ach do get unlocked either way but I did notice my cousin didn't get the ach for finishing the Act 3 when he jumped in my game late in the act. To get the Ach do you have to start the Act together or just jump in early enough and not at the end?

yeah that's how it works, whoever is Marcus is the one that has the actual save on his hard drive.

It does save the Chapters in the acts you've unlocked and if you try to go back it warns you that it will override your current save and asks you if you wish to proceed. Atleast you can go back but, it still sucks that there's no multiple save files. My only concern too, other than that, I'm madly in love with the game :bouncy:

[FONT=&quot]The hunt for this game was retarded yesterday. Still, I'm victim of it. Circuit City in the Portland/Vancouver area did not get the shipment. Gateway Circuit City said they had them and 2 different employees went to the back and told me that the box was there and that since it shows 0 in stock, to come back the next day at 5. Yesterday at 5pm, I showed up, grabbed my faceplate and had to face an employee smirking about the fact that they did not have it. I talked to the manager and he told me "The add is a miss print and is suppose to be for the 15th of this month." I told him that was impossible and he said "The ads are made 6 months in advance." At this point, I didn’t feel like listening to more lies, and left for Best buy. They where sold out. Went to Wal-mart, they only had the special edition. Gamestop and Gamecrazy only did pre-orders. The last place I thought to look for was at Fred Meyers...they had 5 in stock plus limited editions.

Moral of the story...next hyped game, go to your grocery store first...They most likely have it.

I can only imagine how much money Gamestop lost. Everyone I know asked for their money back on the spot to go somewhere else to obtain a copy. I used to preorder everything just to be on the safe side but now adays it's more of a pitfall and a hassle. Best thing is to play the waiting game at retailers.

I've seen it said before but I'm gonna say it again. They need to decide on a day to have ALL games on the shelves by a certain day. Movie & Music companies can do it, why can't the Video Games?

Well after all the fuss about not being able to do guest sign ins on the same xbox, I tried it myself and had no problem. It's a little wonky, but I did it. I'm going to list the steps. Follow these steps EXACTLY:

1- Boot up the game with a gold enabled profile signed in (I don't think trials work)

2- Go to versus, and choose Player match. (ranked matches don't allow guest)

3- Now with the SECOND controller, press Y. This will bring up your left blade with a list of all profiles on this Xbox. Scroll all the way down and choose the GUEST profile.

4- Now search for or host a game.

Easy as pie. What's not to get?
 
Ordered the CE online last night from BB and going to pick it up after work. I am going to try to price match the faceplate from the CC ad. Can't wait to play all night!

That's exactly what my roomate said yesterday. It makes no sence that Music and Dvd has a release day, but video games have shipment date. So they might have it by [insert date here]. The whole system is retarded and I could not help to feel that some how Gamestop/Eb was trying to teach us a lesson in pre-order. Ok, so...they win. I learn my lesson, I will never pre-order at Gamestop/Eb for aything since that wont work either.

It goes without saying, but I really don't want others to suffer from my nightmare. Make sure your CC (and all CC's around BB) have them in stock. Best Buy wont price match if CC is out of stock.
 
picked my pre-ordered copy yesterday at EB, before work. they only got enough CE's and regular editions to fulfill pre-orders. lucky me, since I pre-ordered only a couple days ago.

we still hadn't got them in at TRU, as of yesterday. hopefully today.

played through Act 1 last night. amazing game. I'm loving it. I do wish they assigned some of the functions to other buttons other than the "A" button, but I'm slowly getting accustomed to it.
 
Cliffy B said that you can plant grenades, even smoke grenades, on other players, has anyone seen this yet?

Also, if you just let it sit for a minute on the first splash screen you get the intro movie, anyone else noticed? (We've all seen it online anyway though)
 
how do you set an online game with friends?

i saw thrustbucket and a few other people on my friends list online last night, but i still have'nt figured out how "create" a game just for friends.
