Nothing worth going out to buy an xbox one right away. Unfortunately Halo Guardians was not the big of a deal. MS did say that at some point xbox one games would be crossbuy with their PC counterparts. Keep in mind this also means your games won't be on steam, or origin, uplay, etc... It's on the new windows 10 on xbox aka Windows LIVE

 
my gtx 970 just came in, huge gears fan might have to grab it.

not too sound like an achievement whore but are their separate achievements? Might be nice to start playing and get seriously again :D

Yeah I own the physical version myself and I feel somewhat shafted to too. However this might make a little sense of M$ trying to push digital version of Halo 5. Also side bar. your signature I'm rather nintendo just make games. Nintendo is has delivered more false promises than both Sony and M$.

I agree it's just that $29.99 price tag. I was going to get Zelda this week but damn $59.99 for a re-release. Nintendo has the worst pricing for their games. Also most folks haven't noticed but their games sometime go dead stock. Hyrule Warriors is kinda hard to find brand new in store that is.

At 31.99 from Bestbuy that will be the lowest Discount for this game. Sorry to get off topic guys

maybe the ms store will stock it soon? still got a couple golden crisp coupons.

not sure if purchasing threw the windows 10 store will accept promo codes, but got a feeling it's just like buying on the live marketplace.

Is the no SLI a permanent thing or just a profile needs to be released for it still? This one's a big one for me as I have 2 semi-older cards in SLI.

But regardless this is great news for PC gamers; pretty terrible news for XBONE gamers (IMO). I already had no interest in One except Gears and Halo and this is half the reason with hope for Halo on PC as well!

No clue.. but MS has a really bad history with games for windows live in general. They did say last week that they are working on updates to games on Windows... they suck. Rise of the Tomb Raider has a lower FPS on the Windows 10 counterpart of the game compared to the Steam version. They hide the .exe's too... so modding is a no go.

I think this is why they were giving Quantum away for those that preorder digital on Xbox One for Windows 10... to try to get people there... and they are keeping it Windows 10 gaming or whatever they call their sh!t show store, exclusive. No steam version will come out.

Even the support for Rise of the Tomb Raider to those who purchased thru the Windows sh!t 10 game store, had to receive support from Square Enix via the STEAM SUPPORT FORUMS!! there is no online support for the Windows sh!t 10 store.

Those issues are all due to the way Windows store apps work, so it is safe to assume Gears will be the same way.

I remember people talking about getting Rise of the Tomb Raider for cheap by changing regions to India or Ukraine, anybody try that with this game?

They've already said they want to add multi gpu support in the future. But then, Microsoft says a lot of things when it comes to how they handle PC gaming that's not always true...

 
i played on xbox one when it released (never played any of the GoW games before) and thought it was a pretty boring game, the combat system is very different than any others I will give it that (more cover and "hulk-like" feel than any other game) but the story sucked and a completely forgettable game.  

Goddamn it microsoft, stop trying to push the Microsoft Windows 10 store, its never happening.  Put your shit on steam and everyone would be so much happier.

OK wow not having a XBONE so never really researched this game, in my mind I was under the impression this "Ultimate Edition" included all the 360 GoW games,

I think he is referring to an optional steam security figure to secure your account with a code sent to your mobile device. That security option only needs to be done once in a while.. I believe the 1st time you install/log in to the steam client at that.

Also you need it for sharing your entire game library with a family member.. but that is a 1 time thing.
 
Confused at why this is bad news for Xbox One owners? If Microsoft makes money off the PC Master Race that means more Xbox and Windows 10 games so we all benefit. Only downside I could see is if Windows games start outselling Xbox so much so that they stop making Xbox games but for ppl like me that work on a Computer all day so don't want to play on a PC, I won't ever go the Windows route.

And if you don't use that "optional feature" you can't participate in trading or in the marketplace.

Any others worth mentioning?

Can't say I like my PS4 exclusives any better. I've been playing my Wii U and retro consoles more than I have my PS4 and XB1 lately.

On a software level it's great for Microsoft, but someone like me who might be like fuck it I want to play some Halo or Gears or w/e I'm getting a xbone, now there's literally no reason to. So on a hardware level it is indeed bad for xbone hardware sales. Your argument is basically saying it would be great for every company to make all their games for every system, which isn't the case if you want to sell the accomponying hardware (ps4, wii u, etc.). Just saying it gives even less of an already small reason to ever get a xbone.

 
its good and bad.  Great, more choices for games.  However...

1. its windows 10 store only.  a TON of problems here, from social ones (friends lists, etc) to technical problems - SLI not supported, gSync not supported, can't run shader addons, can't mod the game, and a million other things.  Its the worst of uPlay x 10

2. I bought the xbox one for exclusives.  If they are all gonna be PC games now too.... uh why did I buy an xbox one?  Should I keep paying $30/yr for gold or just play it all on PC?

3. as a CAGer, I buy physical so I can trade in games when I am done, can't do that with PC games so less likely I will buy new games at launch and just wait for the inevitable sale

In theory cross buy and cross play is fantastic, but when you start reading all the little details it starts sounding awful.  I'd love to switch between xbox and PC, IF and ONLY IF (1) they ran on steam on PC, (2) it was all cross buy, so me buying PC would give me xbox one version and vica versa, (3) PC discount strategy applied to xbox one games, (4) They have feature parity and release date parity.  

None of that is happening, instead it all sounds like one big kludge to try and appeal to everyone and instead making nobody happy.

 
Also, if your graphics card doesn't support DX12, you're fuck .

great points!! I have been reading about this Windows10 only PC game store, and RiseOfTombRaider thankfully is on steam. I read about quantum break PC being only Windows10, no steam! man, issues!

now this, GOW only for windows10 and this store.....lotsa limitations.

LOL@microsoft.

I kept my PC at win8.1 because windows10 actually BLOCKS semi-modern and older DISC based pc games!!! (found out the hard way and downgraded back with my 2006 pc game disc)

LOL. However, MS has been into the digital crossbuy train lately with in-house Xbox One exclusives (Killer Instinct, Quantum Break), it's normal for someone expecting the digital version of Gears U on Xbox One would get the crossbuy treatment too.

Technically QB isn't even cross-buy, as you have to redeem a code to get the :pc: game (or outright buy it).

But they are doing great with Bayonetta 2's new MSRP and new Wii U's Select pricing. With that in mind, I expect Hyrule Warriors to be $19.99 in the next round of Select. I will wait til then since it's not really that great of a game anyway based on videos I've seen unless you like Koei's Warriors games. Bayonetta 2 however is a far better hack n slash game IMO and cheaper.

I think people are really overestimating how many console gamers have high end gaming PC's/ Most people that mainly play games on a PS4 or Xbox probably don't have a PC that can play AAA X1 games. A big segment will but not the majority. I don't think this is some death kneel for the Xbox.
