General Fighting Game Thread 3 is full of scrubs (except Markman, ReRo, and Beef)

Sounds good. If I get my $100 for the TE in time to order one of the V3's I'll probably get one.

I really just wanted to switch out the buttons for a different color (including start) and possibly change the balltop. Granted, I have NEVER done any mods before so there is a fear of fucking it up.
 
Nice Sonichurricane video of Cammy on SRK. Those videos are always great to watch, too bad it'll never be done in a real match. My favorite was the Ryu video they showed at EVO.

Cammy's cross up sucks, very unreliable. What she really needs is an overhead move and a better armor breaker. Her spin knuckle is almost useless, they need to speed that shit up. Can't wait til SUPER. I got both systems pre-ordered at Amazon already.

my brother swapped out the joystick. the gate cracked so it would randomly rotate to 4-way. i bought a gate and a new joystick just in case, and my brother swapped the sticks and he had never done anything of the sort before.

i did the buttons on the HRAP.
it's easy.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably try it on my HRAP2 SA before (possibly) getting the V3.

Did your brother's V3 come with the gate cracked?
 
oh no, i meant, we did that with the TE.

basically, it just comes to unscrewing stuff, unplugging stuff, popping them out, then popping them in and replugging them in.

I'll attest to this. I have a Fightstick SE that I did a full Sanwa mod to and it was easy. Prior to that I had absolutely zero experience doing anything like that It's just a matter of removing some quick disconnects, snapping out the buttons, then adding in the new stuff. I think I remember reading the new HRAPs should be set up with QDs so it should be as easy as the MadCatz sticks. There's tons of tutorials out there, I lurked the hell out of the SRK Tech Talk forums.

Stick modding is dangerous though because now I want to buy a TE AND build a stick of my own, lol.

Yeah KTS is great. They play in Orlando quite a bit since they're from South FL. Unfortunately though I haven't been to a show in ages :cry:.

UC Davis 3v3 is tooooooo hype right now. Grand Finals going on right now.

Rom taking out 6 straight players (2 teams) right now with his Chun.

fuck YEA, NorCal team with Ricky, Rom and Ryan wins the first set in Grand Finals!!!!
 
NorCal takes UCD 3v3!!!

Ricky/Rom/Ryan Filipino Champ coming from Loser's and winning two straight matches in Grand Finals. I would've been bummed if a non-NorCal team took this tourney...it being in NorCal and all.

Top 3 should be:

1st- Ricky/Rom/Ryan Filipino Champ (NorCal)
2nd- Marn/Flash Metroid/Perfect Sin (East Coast)
3rd- Combofiend/Keno/Ross (SoCal)

Tomorrow's 3v3 at Fuddruckers in Concord should be even more hype.
 
The online interface is okay but I just tried Ranked Match and couldn't find an opponent. It has emblems Call of Duty style but I just seemed to randomly unlock them throughout the single player. Tekkaman Blade (Gay Robot Blade) and Frank West are both awesome. Frank West plays unorthodox but cool.

I unlocked Zero too but only played with him a very little bit so I have nothing to say about him. The lack of mini-games is honestly pretty weak though - they were really fun with 4 players :(

Balance wise Karas still seems like Karas but I didn't try any infinites... I didn't notice much but I didn't get deep into the game yet - still playing through arcade mode to unlock shit

GGs axc. I'm still pretty meh with viper online. Timing is still not consistent. Still learning her ins and outs. There were a couple of times I would get a block string on you and her mp thunder knuckle wouldn't feint cancel; hp thunder knuckle comes out on accident(c.lp, s.lk, c.mp xx qcb hp+lp... I guess didn't double tap right) and leaves me wide open for your Seth/Ryu/Abel. Ate lots a damage lol.

Sakura's cool. I like her flashy resets :)

Pretty sure everyone here has seen this already on the youtubes. I'll post it anyway. Ultra I put to good use.

You know what I don't get about Juri.. she stands on one leg, like Adon.. like a traditional Muay Thai stance. That's not a TKD stance, I've done TKD as I'm sure some of you have.. TKD stance is just a normal hoppy defensive foot forward offensive foot back stance... like what's his name from KOF, Kim? And Baek Do San.. and Hwoarang.

No stance in Muay Thai has your leg has high as Adon. For righties your left foot is lifted no more than a inch off the ground with your toes still touching and flip that for lefties. Adon has a custom Muay Thai stance. Sagat has a traditional stance. I have no idea what Juri is, if they are going for TKD you are right they are way off. There is a odd Jamaica stance that does that one leg shit at times, but I have no idea what it is called off the top of my head.


Jim, Sure the combo is launch, b,a, fireball ( using a for the fireball )repeat. If it works they won't hit the ground before you are able to start over again. Though with the new reported fall speed this might not work.

I use to train in Muay Thai and can back this up. I was horrible though >_<

Best refrence though is if you look at Bruce from T6.

No doubt dawg no doubt. Adon is an exaggeration of Muay Thai just like almost every aspect of Street Fighter is exaggeration. It's just that Juri makes less sense than a lot of their other characters.

Oh yeah.. I'd say Bruce from Tekken does the Muay Thai stance fairly well.

doesn't jhun from kof have a similar stance
 
I couldn't get the fireball juggling to work at all. It seems like a long recovery time even for the A version. I was only able to re-catch Ryu once while still in the air afterward, and it didn't count as a combo.

I could just be F'ing up, but I don't think so.
