1st time through I played a good character and did all of the side missions and such.

2nd time through was as a neutral character to get the karma/level trophies (cheated to get the evil ones by stealing tons of stuff before leveling up) - also got the bobbleheads since I missed the Raven Rock and 101 ones on my initial play.

3rd time is the one I started once the GOTY came out so I could play all the way through with the new content in play. May do one more evil one after this since I have never blown up Megaton.
I did first as good, but wised up before I hit level 20 (after accidentally hitting level 14 as neutral), and got all 3 acheivements for 20 at once. So I started a new game, played as neutral til I hit 8 or whatever, then went full on evil, blew up megaton, and killed children until I hit level 14. D:

I had a lot of fun with that game until the level cap ruined it for me. :|

I've only played 2 2009 games thus far.

MW2
Resident Evil 5.

I have Batman AA on it's way from goozex. That will probably be all the 2009 games I play period.

No Arcade games either. I just don't game that much these days. The Blu Ray/DVD deals, and the off topic and versus forums are the only reason I'm still here regularly. Less free time since finishing up grad school and I've been spending more hobby time on TV, sports, movies and reading.

I did play a couple of older games earlier in the year--finished off Oblivion in the spring. Played FEAR 2 a few months ago etc.

FEAR 2 was released in 2009

Add that to the list then, I was thinking it came out late 2008.

MW2
RE5
Fear 2

I hadn't heard of Shadow Complex, from a google, that does look like it would be up my alley since I saw it compared to Super Metroid and the Metroidvania series which are some of my all time favorites.

Will definitely check out the demo, and pick it up down the road if I dig it--MW2 will take up my limited gaming time for the next couple of months at least. And will have to find time to play Batman as well.

Just finished Dead Space on PS3. Beaten it on both 360 + PS3 now. The 360 one ran a LIL better, but 99% of the game, they played identical. Just a few scenes on ps3 where framerate dropped noticably. Otherwise, its damn good. I just have to do some clean up + beat it on Impossible and i'll have the platinum for this sucker. One of the best games to come out this generation, EASILY.
I'm thinking of getting a laptop to play some PC games... but damn they can be expensive.
I'm looking to get a laptop also. I need one since my PC is on life support.

I finally beat MW2 single player yesterday. One scene freaked me out a little because:
The emergency alert system that came up was in the country adjacent to mine, which I've been to before. I thought it was real for a moment. So did a co-worker and others I know who live in that particular county).

Yeah, that got me for a second as well as I lived in bordering counties, and went to grad school/worked in that county until this summer when I moved.

I haven't picked up a single new release for 09 this year. About the only thing new I've purchased is some of the Fallout 3 DLC off PSN. I did buy several last-year releases tho.

I'm already seeing a bunch of used copies of MW2 pop up around town. My local GS had at least 20 copies sitting out today, and another mom-and-pop store I visit had several copies as well. I thought it was interesting.

I picked up a copy of Killer 7 for the Cube today. I'll soon see what side of the "love it or hate it" fence I'm on.

Man, all ur GotY lists are lacking something...

SFIV

pretty much revived a genre single handedly and is still strong.

other GotY for me have to be Canabalt and Space Invaders Infinity Gene... I know there's other stuff but I forget.

I'd put Blazblue on there before SF4.

SF4 first

BlazBlue - disappointment of the year. That game is shitty. Not made for human brains, as far as I'm concerned, I might as well be learning greek. And honestly, REI NO OTAKU probably puts BlazBlu first, but honestly, honestly, nobody gives a shit about that game, that's the real fact of the matter.

SF4, RE5, Prototype, Red Faction, Batman, Uncharted 2, MW2, Assassin's Creed 2, Borderlands, L4D2, Dragon Age,and Torchlight are all my highlights of the year.

I'd say i enjoyed SF4, RE5, AC2, and Borderlands the most, but I haven't finished borderlands or AC2 yet. Or played enough Dragon Age to pass judgment (only about 10 hours)

My Top 6 in no particular order:
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Street Fighter IV
- Uncharted 2
- Punch-Out!!!
- Wii Sports Resort
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

These games are my favorite that have been released this year. They're just really solid and really fun to play. I've put at least 40 hours into each game with the exception of Batman (I've put 20 hours into that).

My next 4 in no particular order:
- Infamous
- Borderlands
- House of the Dead: OVERKILL
- Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

These are definitely very good games that I played a little more than once but they just didn't hold my interest after I was done with them.

Blazblue > SF4.

But then again, SF4 was a huge disappointment for me.

Borderlands DLC is dumb.
Well, if you're not level 50, at least you get experience, but nothing too cool in it.

My friend and I are both 50 but the enemies and 'bosses' are all still a lot weaker than us and we're basically just running through it. They said it would scale but....
Also, no good loot!

Disappointment!!!

Damnit, Trophies weren't unlocking in AC2 tonight for some reason. Now I have to play through far enough to do Sequence 7 and the Basillica de San Marco over again. Oh well. Shouldn't take too long if I just run straight through the story missions.

Wow, you're an ass.
BB is good, but it's more a specific taste than something everyone can get into. SFIV is more of an everyman fighter.
That's interesting... I'm not entirely sure if that turns me off of picking it up or not :whistle2:k

Of the very few games of 2009 I've played, LittleBigPlanet PSP and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (that come out this year, right?) then those two are on my list. I can't believe how much they both pull me in. Though MH is frustrating as all hell at times. I guess Killzone 2 can count. I liked it for as long as I could handle it. Then I got bored of it. But for my first time checking out Killzone, it was excellent. Nice art style too.

Are Prototype and inFamous worth checking out?

PS, my Hori Fightstick 3 came in the mail today. Puts my Mayflash stick to shame. For now. I just can't wait to pick up SFIV now!
I picked up a clearance copy of MHFU.
All I'm playing is single player and I think its a hoot. Frustrating at times, but amazingly entertaining.
I picked up a clearance copy of MHFU.

Can singleplayer be fun?
Man, I want a new PS3 just for adhoc party.
That's one of the main reasons I bought a PS3 slim.
fuck Sorny.

That is all.
It has to do with their new game sharing policy I bet. I'm SO happy they are doing it.
Blazblue > SF4.

BlazBlue is good shit. It's just stressful to play. :)

Best shit from this year that I've played, in no particular order:

Street Fiytah Fo'
Resident Evil 5
Batmang AA
BlazzBlu
Tekken 6 (Yeah, netcode sucks ass, single player blows, etc. etc., but the gameplay is so good.)
Uncharted 2

Still need to get NGS2 and GOW Collection.

The one thing PSN had over XBLA is gone and you guys are happy?

Sorny and publishers are in for a rude awakening if they think this is going to increase PSN purchases.

He's gone beyond ridiculous, and has degraded to self-parody.

Agreed, but I didn't find SFIV disappointing, just that I feel BlazBlue is better.
Given that SF2 was probably THE most influential game (series?) of my teenage years, I had lofty expectations for 4. I'd never been disappointed by a sequel to that series until 4, unless you count whatever the EX game on PS2 was.

I mean, it's solid. Once I got past the art style, it's a better game that I gave it credit for... but it just feels like SF2 with character models I loathe with a couple gameplay mechanics just mashed in. :| BlazBlue, having never played a GG game, was a neat experience. I loved the artwork, the animation was key, and it reminded me of those classic SF2 days with enough differentiation to not just be a worthless knockoff. I had high hopes for KoF12 too, because it was hand drawn 2d animation... until I tried it and saw the ginormous pixelation... that killed it for me.

Well, if you have a group of 5 people sharing, and now only 3 of them can share? Provided that the other 2 aren't entirely put off from the fiasco, they'll find a 3rd person, and now instead of 1 sale, they've made 2. It's conceivable their numbers could go up.

If they had more of these fucking 1/2 price sales, I'd buy more shit, gamesharing or not.

I just funded my PSN Wallet a ton (bought $50 PSN Card Sunday, along with 4 $20 PSN Cards the last two days). I ended up buying LBP and Tekken 6, which I'm about to play on my PSP.

Plan to play MW2 later.

Lol, although my co-workers are into geeky/nerdy things (like WoW, Video Cards on PC, Anime, etc.), they say I'm the most geeked out when compared to all of them.
