Hopefully Amazon's pre-order for DS comes up within the next month or two--I really want to add it to one of my existing pre-orders...

Something along those lines. You kicked my ass...
So where in the post did I make reference to your level? I was clearly just making the reference to that series.
At least my level didn't get taken down

I've been playing a little more Fallout 3, and I can safely say Bethesda lives up to their legacy of trying to out glitch Lionhead Studios. A lot of map markers aren't being added, and I found a weird poster glitch where the posters vanish as I get closer to them.
Odd, I've never had a problem joining random games in SF4.
Sold it a week ago though in prep for Super.
Yeah probably gonna get super for both systems too. I figure it's a few months off so I've got time to play the old one.

It's like, 9 out of 10 times "sorry, can't join the game, PSN is free" That and there's so many more random douchebags that just created an account in 5 minutes named 15108azhu or something that just want to get on and throw fireballs or do stupid shit in other games, I'm assuming.

And the lack of AA on the PS3 version hurts. This is why you don't buy multiplatform games on PS3.. ugh.
DeathSmiles coming to USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Yet another check off possible future J360 purchase.
fucking badass.

I'll be thrilled if I make it out of this generation without having to buy any Japanese consoles.

wtf? Peter Weller is hosting that Unearthing the Legend documentary that comes with God of War III Ultimate Edition.
Speaking of Mass Effect (and this also applies to Dragon Age... and actually Oblivion and Fallout 3 as well); I just can't stand custom character creation when it involves realistic looking models.

The problem is they give you all these options but most of them you don't want to touch unless you want your character to look like a deformed alien, and then they give you a preset that looks normal so I almost always start there and tweak it slightly but it is clear that the tweaks barely would differentiate it from someone else's character so the whole process of customizing feels kind of worthless.

When it comes to non-realistic models though customization is a lot funner (I'm thinking stuff like Miis or Live Avatars) because the characters never enter into the uncanny valley, because they are cartoonish and we can accept strange proportions on cartoons. Speaking of game system avatars for that same reason I also can't stand Sony's Home, because again the realism feels really limiting.
I've never much liked character customization period. I just want to jump in and get to playing when I start a new game, not spend time tweaking the character.

I just went with the default Shepard in Mass Effect, and will in ME2 as well since I'll be importing my save.

Oblivion I spent maybe 5 minutes making a Dark Elf character.

Yeah, they probably should have. I'd have stuck with the male anyway as I've never been big on playing as female characters personally.

I never really played LBP but that's worth a congratulations, Bear. Time to start working on the next masterpiece?

I think im gonna trade Forza 3 for darksiders with that $40 deal. I haven't played it, probably won't play it until it's $20..

forgot to say this but I just finished Batman AA mid week and have to say I am impressed. Not GotY but very impressed. It actually convinced me that a very good Castlvenia 3D game can exist.
Congrads Darkness on the level award! I voted for you easily :)
Thank you! And thanks for your vote. =)

I finally beat Ghostbusters last night, end playtime was 6 hours, which is amazing because the beginning felt like it took half of forever. I went back for a few achievements and I finally feel content with sending it back to Gamefly crying about the terrible things I wrought upon it.

Bayonetta is fucking insane. I'm going to have to play normal again I guess since I think I missed 2 Alfheims.

Is that what the 2 empty spaces in the line of medals are at the end of chapters?

I'm way behind in game playing. Got my 360 last year since I was still playing with my back log of PS2 games {Don't laugh}.

Out of the new gen games I've played so far, Bioshock is king. I've been playing ME for the last few month...I'm only able to play a few hours a week after my wife goes to bed.....I have done every side mission that I've found and have truly enjoyed this game. I only have a few more hours left as I think I'm near the final fight.

After ME, I have Fallout 3 waiting on the shelve......then off to play Bioshock 2 followed by ME2, that's going to keep me busy for a while.

By the time you're done with those, it'll almost be NEXT year. ;) Seriously, prepare to be sucked in by Fallout.

Grats Bear.

I haven't been able to login to the STO beta since they started Open. They are apparently in need of more server power, but what I don't like is that you can't do anything while waiting to authenticate. It'd be nice to get yourself out of the queue at least so you can try again. Waiting for the thing to timeout is a PITA.

I just beat GoW1 again and beat the Challenge of the Gods. I have two trophies left and then I'll have my first platinum.. I'm not sure if I really want to go back for it, though.

My hands are killing me.. I forgot how hard I worked to beat all of GoW back when it first came out.

Playing Darksiders after God of War was a bad idea... I keep trying to use the right stick to dodge and R1 to block. Still I'm having alot of fun with the game.

So I thought GTA:L&D kind of sucked, but BoGT was great. Very funny. L&D seemed like it was all stupid "kill 10 waves of guys" missions, while GT had some good skydiving/helicoptering stuff. I don't think either of them is really worth $20, though.

Which ones are you missing? I know I'm missing the speed run, the max everything out, and the challenge of the gods trophies.

Chibi, I felt the same way -- the fact that the right analog went to the camera in darksiders and the only thing close to evade was the dash button... that took some adjusting...
35 I want to say?
That seems high. I'm in chapter 14 or 15 and I'm in the church/library
after rescuing sully... it won't be too long until i'm dealing with the zombies, i think?
.

I was thinking about 22, but I'm too lazy to actually look it up.

Is magic on XBLA worth getting if I've never played the card game? The demo was kind of fun. I'll buy almost any game for 400 points.

Speed Run and maxing out all weapons and magic. I'm sure that I could max everything out using Tycoonius in about half a playthrough and do a speed run with Dairy Bastard since he has Infinite Magic as that was what I did when the game came out, I'm just not sure that I have the patience to go back through the game again.

Hrmmm... Not sure I unlocked those -- do they come from the challenge of the gods?
Why?
I was in the church in chapter 15 of the first game, during my crushing playthrough.
I had a desert E with 3 shots and a SAS-12 with about 9-13. I cleaned out most of the room before someone snuck up on me and blew me away with one shotgun blast.

Upon reload, it gave me 0 shots in my Desert E and 0 shots in the M4 I had picked up. And yet, I was back at the checkpoint with all enemies respawned.

Thanks to autosave, I couldn't just reload either. :bomb:

Yessir! You unlock all of Kratos' alternate costumes from beating the Challenge of the Gods. IMO, Dairy Bastard is the best because of his Infinite Magic ability, Tycoonius is probably just going to be good for his extra XP gain ability, and all the rest are just supposed to be fun.

After *just* missing out on the xp to get the trophy for max out, I'm contemplating using one of those harpy glitches for it. I inadvertently did one when I was getting the thunderbolt arrow magic, but it didn't go for long enough and I was *just* shy... like 400 orbs, maybe.

I don't know that I can handle challenge of the gods... I did manage to do challenge of the titans, but the gods challenges are a pain in the nuts... i couldn't get by 2/10.

Alright - i've got an idea.

I'm going to play through my backlog starting A-Z and if I can't muster the effort to finish the game, It's getting sold.

Sounds like a good plan, right? Starting with Amped 3 today. Seems like a podcast game at best. Got it free with B2G1 at gamestop because I couldn't find anything else any better for that cheap to work for the deal.

Also, I finished Bayonetta. What a game. I wish I was better at it. I got a lot of stone medals first time through for using too many items. Also, quick time events killed me a lot.

They'd be okay if they weren't so.. quick.

A lot of them just catch you off guard in the cutscenes, which feels cheap. You learn them, but the first time got me often in the first playthrough.

That and the long, stupid cutscenes at the end were the only flaws with that game. I could have done with a little more gampelay, but it's not bad. I know I missed some stuff the first time through because I only saw one alfeim or whatever and didn't' get the whip. But I was rushing a bit. I'll play it again soon.

Definitely a good plan. Even better if coupled with not buying new games--or being very selective in what you buy--until the back log is gone.

I had a 10-15 game backlog last gen, and it honestly made me enjoy gaming less since I started to feel like I was working to clear it out rather than playing games for fun at my own pace.

So I resolved not to build a backlog this game and generally haven't picked up games I didn't plan to play right away--with a couple of exceptions from getting games quicker than expected from Goozex etc. I'm a much happier gamer as I find myself taking my time with games, rather than feeling pressured to beat them and move right on to the next one.

Only backlogged game currently is Fallout 3 as I just haven't had time for an RPG like that since I got it from Goozex. Aim to knock it out this summer.

I just finished Bayonetta (PS3). What an awesome game. :D

Should be getting my copy of Sky Crawlers this week.

Finally got Borderlands and started playing. Liking it so far. Had a tough time debating which version to get, but settled on PS3 after more good friends were playing it.

Yeah, it's hard to stay away from the new release cycle, but I've done okay so far. Bayonetta is the only game I've spent real money on. Otherwise it's been trades and gift cards.

Except for some $2-5 original Xbox games, but that's a pittance. Just collecting stuff there.
and don't forget less power consumption.
sorny savin the planet! Woo

Bayonetta is the only game I paid near full price for recently (that was over $30). I got Sky Crawlers for $30, Borderlands for $20 after trading in a certain game, and House of the Dead Overkill for $13 on Amazon. I honestly don't plan to get another game this month, unless something turns up.

I can't be spending too much since my electric bill almost doubled from last month, spend money on car insurance for 6 months, and had to spend money on an eye exam (first time I had an exam in 17+ years, was told I really needed glasses and had to spend $350+ on all of that. :whistle2:( ).

Yeah, I pretty well avoid the new release cycle. 2008 all I bought at launch was Gears 2 as my roommate at the time and I were dying to play it. 2009 all I bought at launch was Modern Warfare 2 so I could jump into the online right away. Didn't really pay off as I've only put 22 hours or so into the multiplayer since November.

Otherwise, every other game I've gotten off of Goozex.

I'm also not a collector, so that helps. I was always only buying games I wanted to play, I was just buying a bit more than I had time and energy to play before this gen so I cut that out.
