It seems awfully unlikely that the friggin' commercial gets it's own logo that looks like a subtitle to the game...

And the average consumer that sees that commercial? Totally going to think it's the subtitle, regardless of whether it actually is.

My best guess -- if it's not a subtitle, it's a tagline, like the stupid ass Halo 3 - Finish the Fight deal. Any way you slice it, it's lame as hell.
I do believe it's just a tag line. They use it the same way as Halo 3's finish the fight with all the "Fight for the Lost January 26th" stuff.
Bingo! Not a subtitle, and yes taglines are usually stupid. Just correcting the fact that you were blatantly wrong lol.
Have fun dealing with all the parents coming in to get their kids "Mass Effect: Fight for the Lost". ;)

Lol. I still deal with people coming in for Grand Theft Auto I-V. I can handle that.

TRU didn't have :ps3: Darksiders, so picked up the :360: version instead. Started playing Bayonetta. The fighting mechanics and overall control seems much better than the DMC series.

I finally got to the screen tearing parts, Frost and shit, you're right. I don't think I've seen such bad tearing in a long time. I'm surprised it didn't get worse scores than it did.

Halfway through Yakuza 1.
Wow, what a fun game. The dub is hilarious!

So many one-liners that I just laughed out loud to. (which i never do)
Signed out Army of Two from work, and played through it with a friend. What a terrible, terrible game...
Is it worse than the first one?
Did you like the original ?

is it on xbox... cz i got one.. i used to play at my friends home but now he has shifted to chicago... do let me kno if its available on xbox or not...
Is it worse than the first one?

I've never played the first one, but I tried the new one for about 5-10 minutes before I said "fuck this, I've got better things to do".

It just didn't seem fun. The guns seemed "light" -- it didn't feel like I was shooting anything... something about the in game engine seemed way off -- like... unpolished. For some reason, in my head, I can't help but compare it to 50 Cent: BotS and think it's a worse game. While 50 Cent, to me, was "The Club" done right, this seems like a bad rip off of Gears 2 and 50 Cent with no polish.

I actually liked Army of Two (original) as a co-op game. I wouldn't play it alone.
Of course, I only paid $10, and that's what I intend to pay for the sequel.

Better co-op experience than Gears 1 and 50 Cent. And I say that only because in those two games, one player can pretty much beat the game themselves with little to no help from player 2.

Same thing in Army of Two, at least the sequel -- I'd rather play Gears or 50 cent with a buddy than Army of Two for sure. I'd have more fun.

I liked the first one but admittedly I got a copy as a gift so I could co-op it with a friend, and I didn't like it enough to pay more that $20 for it.

Sounds like it will be much the same with the sequel.

I actually thought that was a strength of Gears 1 & 2. The co-op was a blast, but the game was also fun in solo--at least on the default difficulty (only did Hardcore and Insane in co-op in both games).

I love co-op, but games need to stand on their own in single player as well to be worth a purchase for me. Especially since I moved and don't have any gamer friends locally nor have any real life friends to play with over live (as the old roommate/friend I played Gears 1 & 2 with hasn't bought his own 360 yet) and have no interest in co-op games with randoms or CAGs etc.

Besides, co-op really excels with a friend in the same room pounding beers and playing late into the night. Just not the same playing them online. So again, the single player needs to stand on its own for me.

Well, I mean, co-op is indeed fun in Gears.

I just mean that you didn't really need a good partner to make it through.
If one player was stuck in AoT, then you just couldn't get past as you really needed your teammate to help you out so it was more a team effort like RE5.

I got what you were saying.

I was just disagreeing as I think it's poor game design IMO if you can't get through it on your own. Co-op is great, but games that are only playable in co-op have little appeal to me. At most I'd rent them to play through in a weekend when I had someone to play it with.

They need to be like Gears IMO--very fun to play either co-op or alone.
I really want MAG to be a good game.
I played the beta for a short time, and it didn't seem too bad. Didn't have the level of polish as MW2 multi though.

I will definitely wait for some longer term impressions though. If they even pull it off technically well, I will be impressed.

Played the first two chapters of Bayonetta. Difficulty seems much more..level than the DMC series.

MAG vs MW2 comparison a bit unfair. Battlefield is closer.
Beta for MAG was better than I expected, but I'm tired of shooters.
I have no idea what is going in on Bayonetta
I am pretty much in the same boat. It doesn't help that I keep almost falling asleep while play either.

Game of the decade!!!!

Yea I was pleasantly surprised. I probably wont get it due to the certainty that nobody I know will get it either... And it does not seem fun unless you have a core group of people/friends you player with regularly.

I'm more looking forward to Bad Company 2 than MAG since that beta was a lot better. The beta for MAG was completely awful due to the actual download/update process, so I can't speak on the quality until I play the retail version that hopefully doesn't resort to that BS.

I caved in and pre-purchased Star Trek online from Steam... I won't be able to even play it until I get my laptop which will be after the Beta ends.

Agreed w/Bear on MAG--seems like it'd be more fun w/a consistent group of friends or people you know and can work with well. I won't be getting it since my PS3-owning friends and relatives just aren't into tactical FPSes or MMO type games (RPG or otherwise). Sony did this same kind of game w/Planetside.
Awesome there's
an 'Ashley stage' in
Bayonetta

fuckers
Please tell me you aren't referring to RE4...

Please.

Bummer, if you play late at night you might see me online.

I really am bummed out... I'd love to try and play with Brad from Giantbomb. I doubt he'll stick around long after the beta ends...

I decided to play Valkyria Chronicles for a short time. Still absolutely love it.

Right now I'm struggling because I just can't fully decide what to beat next, so I just play random games. Also got two new Wii games today. :D

Right now I'm in the mood to play JRPGs, but I'll be buying several in the next two months, so I'll play them.

All right...

7 chapters in. I can't anymore of this retarded, prepubescent pandering in Bayonetta.

fuck you SEGA/Platinum Games.

I bet in part 2 you kids find out Bayonetta has a penis!

GGT Game of Forever!

This thread is all over the place

Anyway, I finally finished ME........It took me 50 hours and I only made it to level 47....I suck!! I'm going to play it again before ME2......

I don't think you can hit level 50 in one playthrough of ME.

Hmm...I was thinking it was 60 I couldn't hit on my first run. I didn't read much about the game on my first run of the game as not to spoil anything but, I think I have some reading to do for my second.

I explored pretty much every planet and did every quest I could and I didn't hit 50 in my first playthough -- I was under the impression that if you wanted to hit 60, it took 3 playthroughs.

FYI, from an achievement guide:

Step 3: Hardcore Difficulty
You can start a new game and use an Existing ID to carry your character from play #1 over to this one. The enemies on this will be scaled up to your level making it slightly more difficult. Levels 51-60 will be unlocked so you can continue to progress. I used Kaiden and Garrus during this play. Follow the ally guide for this although it is much easier now. Work on Renegade points during this play. Finishing this play will unlock Insane difficulty.

Step 4: Insane Difficulty
Continue with your same character and the last two allies (if you followed so far it would be Tali and Wrex). The bosses in this are a higher difficulty than you so be a bit more cautious.

I don't think there's spoilers in there ... anyway, it says that the highest you can get is 50, but I don't think it's likely you make it that far in one playthrough... in fact...

Power Gamer 20
Reach 50th level with one character
Do a lot of side quests. If you do them all, by the first play through you'll probably get to level 40. There is a glitch that only gives you 300xp every time, but to do it: Find Liara when SHE IS TRAPPED IN THE BLUE FIELD! Kill the enemies, save, then load the save. Congrats, you got 300 points! I would only recommend that in the early levels. Also, make sure that when on the Mako to kill enemies on foot, not with the Mako, you'll get more experience that way.

I took a trip in a time machine and tried the Harvey Birdman demo and enjoyed it. I wish the full game was up on PSN.

I'm still wishing they'd let you download PSP games for playing on your PS3. If they did that and put up GoW:CoO, I'd be on it in a heartbeat. CoO should have been remastered with the other two. :whistle2:?
I actually just tried the God of War: CoO demo and enjoyed it. I wish I downloaded it when it was $14 on PSN.
At least you have a PSP to play it on. :(
It's only 12.50 used on half.com.

I got to 47 on my playthrough of a renegade shephard in ME that I finished today, doing all but 2-3 sidequests. You can't go past 50 on the first playthrough, 51-60 is unlocked after you beat the game.

Also, I loled at the renegade ending bigtime.

Edit: Took me like 19-20 hours I think

I don't think I'm gonna make it through Mass Effect.

Right now I'm at the part where you're
trying to take out the nodes of the thorian thing that is controlling the colonists.
I'm pretty sure I've got a shitload of game left, and I'm not having enough fun to make myself play through it.

I have 2 PSPs I could play it on... but honestly I would prefer playing it on my Go since it feels alot more comfortable. And I wouldn't have to worry about another game case....

I'm listening to Giantbomb's Mass Effect 2 podcast.... Casey Hudson is everywhere. I'm hoping they can get a little more info on possible romance options.

QTE's that insta-kill you if you miss the button press should not be allowed in games. Especially when your performance is weighted by how many deaths you have.

There better be a Talimance...
There better be a Talimance...
Only if it's less creepy then that Liaria romance... But yeah he did mention that Talia and Garrus were the most requested(?) romance options. But one of the problems he cited is that they weren't really sure how it would work. Still I wouldn't be shocked to atleast see Talia as a romance option.
I would totally dump Liaria for her...or anyone for that matter(Except that Zero chick)
