The game is light years better than ME1. You're insane.
Figured it'd be love it or hate it... guess it depends on what you liked/disliked about the first.... definitely a radical shift in direction/gameplay.

The thing is it doesn't even feel like a radical shift at all for me. Just an all around improvement. Getting all that other needless shit out of my way so I can focus on the combat and dialogue.

I just had to redo the last fight in Mass Effect to ensure my import would load -- and for me, it's RADICALLY different. Before it felt nothing like Gears or Uncharted. Now it feels like a direct ripoff. I'm not saying it's a bad thing... I'm just stating my perception. :)

ME1 definitely feels like they're going for GoW or Uncharted, but fail at it. Whereas ME2 feels like they succeeded. So I disagree that the first one felt nothing like it. It's just the first one was so bad at it.

Can I request ME2 stuff be spoilerized please? I've been replaying ME1 on PC. There's a lot I remember, but it also seems like they altered a few things for the PC.

We'll have to agree to disagree there, then.
I can't believe you don't like Bioware, man. Why ever not?
Just found their games boring an unappealing (hated KOTOR, Jade Empire, and first ME). Then again, I do hate most all western RPGs (I have Morrowind and Oblivion also. I just love the JRPGs, its what interests me. I rather play a MS Saga, Tales of Symphonia: DNW, Suikoden IV, and the more so average JRPGs than a Bioware/Bethesda RPG. But that's just how I am though.

Played NG Sigma 2 today. Right now I'm on Chapter 11. Also finally played Sky Crawlers on Wii....so far so good.
I am actually still having problems with NMH 1. Can anyone give me advise on beating Shinobu Assassin #8?
Shinobu might be my least favorite boss battle in any game ever. I think it just might be broken. I have no tips for you.
I'm surprised to not see much ME2 talk in here actually.
I'm busy playing the game. I don't have time to be posting here.

What difficulty on NGS2?

So, they're not japan so they're no good dirty muricans

MANG actually looks like it could be fun, but I'm never buying it until it's $10 in 6 months.

NMH2 will hopefully be given to me as a late xmas gift.

Hey guess wat guys Bioshock 2 is coming out in two weeks!

Who gives a fuck?
Well, my interest in finishing the first ME and picking up the second is pretty much killed now. Awesome.
Not interested in Gears of Uncharted 2?
MAG is really good. Too bad more people from here arent playing it.
I've heard some good things, but only have a few friends playing it. I probably won't buy though.
What difficulty on NGS2?
I honestly have no idea. Shockingly I'm not doing bad at all (I don't find the game that hard).

Not in the slightest. I've said it a million times, I fucking hate the combat in ME. If the sequel is all combat I have no desire to play it, at least not until I can pick it up for 15 bucks like I did the first.

Are you not reading?

Combat plays like a 3rd person cover based shooter now. Find cover, attach, pop up, fire. Occasionally pause with lb or rb to switch weapons or use an ability. There's ammo now, instead of just having guns overheat...

I do want to try out those huge battles......
Even jer admits it looks fun.

And I still don't really give a shit. I, as a whole, don't enjoy single player shooters anymore. I've played way too many of them. If ME2 is nothing but combat, however polished the combat may be, I'm really not interested.

I want to be playing WoW right now, but my partner isn't on and I don't want to level my Paladin, because newbie zones fucking suck. I'm so ready for 55 and my Death Knight.

It's basically ME minus mako exploration and heavy RPG elements, retaining the atmosphere and dialogue and interactions with characters, and changing the combat to heavy 3rd person shooter. I think that sums it up nicely.

I have looked into buying it, but it seems like the experience would be made or broken with playing with friends.

I just finished getting all the glyphs and codexes in AC2. I really love all the backstory that they've put into the game.

He wants to play WoW. He obviously doesn't care about playing good games. Give it up.

Hey now, WoW is a shit ton of fun, especially with friends.

I don't see why I can't just not be interested in playing another fucking shooter.

I just hate WoW. Has nothing to do with anything else.
WTF Uncharted 2?

Did I just fight a
satanic yeti?
Oh it only gets worse from there.

Yeah, this description from reviews has me really dying to play it and kicking myself for just not having the time to enjoy it if I bought it now.

Well other than dropping the heavy RPG elements, as I liked that.

But playing more like a shooter is outstanding for me as shooters are my favorite genre and WRPGs my 2nd favorite currently. So it sounds like an outstanding mix of my two favorite genres.

But I want to be able to really throw myself into it and not be limited to an hour or two a couple nights a week which I all I could throw into it for the next couple of months.

Yes it is. The game of the generation? Maybe. I feel like I felt when I first put in Super Mario Bros 3, Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, and Resident Evil 4. It stands among and perhaps exceeds those giants, from what I've played so far. It is better than any hyperbole would have you believe. I hate that I have to go to bed now instead of playing more.

I watched the giant bomb quicklook of MANG and the shooting seems kinda bad, and the graphics are awful, and you have to play it with a dual shock 3 (eww) but I really like the idea of the game.

It seems like I should be excited for Bioshock 2, but I just don't care. It's like a hot girl stripping for you, but you see just a little too much bulge under the bikini. Maybe that's why Rei's into it ;)

Maybe i'll get hyped? hopefully not. I've got enough to play.

Locked in an order for the Heavy Rain CE import.
If that Yakuza Premium Edition doesn't hit NA I'll lock that one too.
I think I can safely pass on the Euro FFXIII CE.

I agree with everything you said about ME2. The game is just unbelievable. I just did Mordin's character quest, and what a great side quest. Bioware has more than outdone themselves this time.

As for Bioshock 2, I do have some reservations about it but I liked the first one so much I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt.

The only gameplay I've seen of Bioshock 2 is that horrible GS commercial, and all I know about it is...you're a big daddy? Fighting big sisters? or something

I just played Uncharted 2 from 11 pm to 2:10 am. For someone with no attention span like me, this is a feat.
She has buckteeth in real life...
And yet it doesn't change the fact it bugs me....
I mean she is supposed to be perfect or something like that

Her teeth wouldn't really negatively affect the manners in which she's supposed to be perfect I'd think, they're not even big enough to be detracting to me. It's not like they make her dumber or weaker either.

Definitely not. Good game? Yes. Great game? Perhaps. Game of the generation? Not on planet Frost.
Oh it only gets worse from there.
For someone who thought the second half of the first game was fine, I had problems with the second game's attempt to do something similar.

Damnit, think I'm going to crack and pick up ME2 today. Need to run out and pick up some Nyquil etc. since I'm coming down with a cold, so I'll probably swing by Best Buy and grab it since I have a gift card to burn. And I should have some time to throw into it this weekend since I'll probably skip out on a couple parties and keep my germs to myself (since some friends babies will be there etc.).

Not much better way to suffer through a cold than with a great game!
