Man I will be pissed if this fucking snow shit stops me from going to home to get my Xbox to play ME2.

fuck THE ERIE AREA
Doesn't seem like we're getting any snow in the next few days, I guess it is always sunny in Philadelphia.

Listening to Wombat and WripSheck talking about ME2 has put me off it, I've got a stupidly big backlog as it is so I can wait till it drops a bit before I get it.

All I need to do is beat the final boss and I'm done with Yakuza 1.
What a fantastic game, quirks and all.

I laughed aloud quite a few times.

you actually listen to wombat?

Yeah, I think he makes some good points on the CAGcast actually, I'm not going to go to him for all my game reviewing needs if that's what you're insinuating.

The way him and the ginger were going on about how great ME 2 was now they'd taken out X, Y and Z made me think how much I liked X, Y and Z.
Definitely not. Good game? Yes. Great game? Perhaps. Game of the generation? Not on planet Frost.
Planet Frost sounds like a terrible place.
And yet it doesn't change the fact it bugs me....
I mean she is supposed to be perfect or something like that

You asked why she had them, and that's why.

Oh come on, there's not enough futa in ME2 for it to be game of the generation for you Rei... :p

We don't know what's under Tali's suit...

Getting the armor DLC for ME2 is weird. It took me forever to get the message about the Blood Dragon and Collectors armor and now I'm waiting on a message for the inferno armor.

I hate the way my Shepard's face looks....so it stays on. But it would still be cool to mix and match armor.

Also I ran into some people I have helped in previous games. It was kind of neat to see some of them again.
Yes it is. The game of the generation? Maybe. I feel like I felt when I first put in Super Mario Bros 3, Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, and Resident Evil 4. It stands among and perhaps exceeds those giants, from what I've played so far. It is better than any hyperbole would have you believe. I hate that I have to go to bed now instead of playing more.
If it's better than any hyperbole would have me believe, does that mean it's better than a game that's better than SMB3, CT, OOT, and RE4?
I hate the way my Shepard's face looks....so it stays on.
Your fault for having a shitty Shepard. I love the way mine looks. I even like the scars from being renegade. They look awesome.
I can't believe you have to use the helmets.
Yup, it makes the preorder armor pretty useless. Luckily the armor you can get in the game is fine.
If it's better than any hyperbole would have me believe, does that mean it's better than a game that's better than SMB3, CT, OOT, and RE4?
One reason I hate new "big" game releases is all the "best. game. ever. made" comments soon after, especially in the ridiculous official threads on Gaf.

Every single time.
I'm sure ME2 is awesome though, but damnit, I hear it for every major (and sometimes non-major) game. It reminds me that games really are for kids 99% of the time.

I loved my Shepard back in ME. But after replaying after so long I noticed a few things I would like to change. If it wasn't for the fact I had to head out to work about a hour after getting the game I would re-crated.

And I love the helmets... especially the helmet for the Collector's Armor. If I were a complete asshole in ME2 it would totally suit my character. :p

The character quests are so good. Garrus and Mordin's being the highlights.

My only problem with the game is that I hate Subject Zero just as much as I thought I would...

Jack is awesome. It's why I put my Shepard seed in her.

And technically shouldn't you call
Garrus
Archangel for the people who don't want to be spoilered?

I can say that ME2 definitely gives a huge first impression, on a similar scale to Uncharted 2's first half hour or so.

Also, Jack is awesome.

Well, to be fair to Jer, he did say game of this generation. Not of all time. :D

I just finished work and will fire it up and see if it lives up to that for me.

ME1 is right up there on my favorite games of this generation list for sure (a toss up between it, Bioshock and Oblivion for me currently). So I could see the sequel ending up as my favorite if I like it more than the first.

Im not singling out ME2, I'm sure it's fantastic and I'll get to it this spring.

The last time it made me laugh was when Borderlands fanatics were saying similar things. I liked the game but c'mon.

That's a spoiler? Garrus was confirmed months ago...

Jack still sucks. I like every character in that game, but want nothing to do with her. I did her character quest, and hopefully I never even have to look at her again.

Just beat ME2. Amazing end, totally has me psyched for the third.

I lost Mordin, though, so good thing I have a dupe save before I used the Omega 4 Relay. He was the only freaking person I wasn't sure of making it, and sure enough, he fucking dies on me. Gah.

Yeah it's a spoiler -- I had no idea archangel was
garrus
until I showed up in his crib.

I thought the main story was REALLY medicore and the ending was even worse. :(
I liked the character loyalty quests and recruitment quests the best...
I was especially irriated at the design for the collectors... reminded me of
Independence Day
:whistle2:?

I'd be finished with ME2 by now if I stopped dicking around. I'm trying to upgrade everything on my ship and find every little sidequest....

Just finished Assassin's Creed 2.

What. The. fuck.

Seriously, this is the third game in recent memory where I had to lookup the plot in order to figure out wtf just happened. The other two being Bayonetta and MW2.

So was I, and I did everything except maybe 2 sidequests that were available and I leveled up everything except one of Mordin's omni-tool upgrades because I thought that wouldn't be necessary... Well, if you read the upper spoiler you can see how that turned out for me. Good thing I made a dupe save so I can go back and rectify my mistake later.

Frost, I didn't really think it was really mediocre or anything, my only real complaint is that for some reason this game felt smaller to me. I think it was the lack of driving a Mako, but I'm not sure. Oh, and the lack of customization in the weapons. I miss my Polonium shotgun from ME1.

I haven't finished it yet because I'm scanning every planet, etc. But the main story seems fine to me. No better or worse than the one in the first game.

I do agree that the character quests are the highlight though.

 I looked up all three of those games too.

I try to stay away from the hyperbole, but it really does compare to that feeling that those games gave at that time, for myself. At least from what i've played. Final Judgement still up in the air, but yeah. Probably only other thing that's come close was Bioshock this generation. And Half Life Episode 2. Fallout 3 was great too but it was more of a slow burn rather than a constant OMG fuck this is so good all the time.

I got tired of scanning planets after the 73rd one with nothing but minerals I don't even need.
All I wanted was a measly 9k credits so I could buy the last SMG upgrade and get my weapons achievement... and no anomalies, no anything other than irridium and palladium. :(

Joel, ending stuff:
My crew all survived. I think it depends mostly on the upgrades for your ship, loyalty stuff, and the assignments you make during the final assault.

My problem with the story (contains ending spoilers):
The whole time, I could really give a flying fuck about the aliens who were ripped out of Independence Day stealing humans. They didn't make me care. These stupid ugly aliens that just scream ID for me are stealing humans and getting irritated that I'm stopping them. Whatever. Then you get there, after all the attempt at a build up, and the bitches are just building a new reaper that looks like a human?... the whole game didn't feel like it did anything. It felt like an episode of some TV show where the bad guy shows up, the hero thwarts their stupid attempt at villainy, then everything is normal.

In essence, I think the character quests (recruit/loyalty) have so much more story and development to them. And that partially overshadows the rest... but nothing in this compares to ME...
(Spoiled in case people haven't played it, like dallow)
Hrmmm... a special agent of the galactic council has gone rogue and is plotting some sort of universe destroying scheme with an army of droids called geth? And in the end, the dude is under the influence of a ancient sentient ship, blows his brains out, and then is reanimated to take you on? Come on, how do you follow it up with the generic drivel that's the main storyline of ME2?

This just makes me hate GAF, not the games. There is so much gushing over everything, it's disgusting.
Ah yeah..... looks like it's going to be new Mikami game that's announced tonight!

Woooo!
If its the Grasshopper Manufacturer thingy going on with EA I'll be stoked.

I got all the ship upgrades, loyalty was complete for everyone, and I didn't involve Mordin in anything until the end where my team decided to make a stand at the doors while I went and blew up the facility. Other than the one upgrade I really can't think of what I missed, man. What was your final playtime, btw? When you compare the story like that the story does feel a little weaker compared to the first, but I still think it's pretty great. After playing through Bayonetta's silly story, ME2's story made me feel the way I felt when I saw Star Wars the first time.

Well, Bayonetta's story is just trash in my opinion... I enjoyed Bayonetta for the gameplay and the gameplay alone.

ME2 stuff:
I think it was somewhere around 20-25 hours playtime -- I did all the quests I could reasonably find... I still want my 9k credits to get my stupid weapon upgrade achievement. :(

For the final battle, here's what I had, if you want to use it as a template for getting Mordin to survive:

Must be another way:
Legion in the duct
My team (Miranda, Grunt)
Jacob led the other

Second choice:
Grunt led the Dr. out.
Miranda led team 2
Samara held my barrier
My team (Legion, Mordin)

I had all ship upgrades (med bay included :bomb:) and had done all loyalty quests. I don't think anything else factors.

Just finished Uncharted 2. Amazing fucking game,
stupid ape men
and all.

lol at the ending. Brilliant comedic writing in this game.

Okay, I think I'll do what you did and take Mordin in with me next time. My choices were:

Tali in the ducts.
My team: Miranda & Legion.
Garrus led the other.

Second choice: Grunt led Chakwas and the others back to the Normandy.
Miranda led team 2.
Jack held my barrier because I consider her the strongest biotic.
My team: Garrus and Legion.

Final boss team: Garrus and Miranda.

I figure if I take Mordin with me instead of Miranda then I'll be able to get him to live. Hopefully.

Speaking of the weapons achievement, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that just barely missed getting it. I had friends making fun of my ineptitude at getting it. I just need one more upgrade for either my SMG or Shotgun, and what was the med bay upgrade actually for? I bought it and never noticed a difference... but then, I never really went in there but twice to talk to Legion.

PS3 Bayonetta is much more bearable after the patch. No more load times in the items/weapons/pause menus, and it doesn't take 45 seconds to load a new area anymore, closer to 20.

i think your problem might've been not enough leaders remaining when you took on the final boss... i think i had mordin with me because i was trying to do the "incinerate however many armor" achievement...

and i was the same as you -- the last SMG upgrade i needed to buy was in illium and i bought a stupid hack upgrade instead thinking i had everything... :( now I have something like 41k credits out of 50k and couldn't find any side missions... :( i've been real careful with my credits on my insanity new game+, but one problem is i was stupid enough to buy the med bay again... :(

med bay just lets you remove the scars from your character, i think -- it didn't seem to matter after the omega relay -- those seemed to be shield/cannons/armor.

Hahaha. Not even close.
Good game? yes.
Game of the year? maybe if they spent less time tacking on multiplayer and focused on the single player, they could've done something amazing. Like Rocksteady did with Arkham Asylum.

Wow, that's pretty quick considering Gay Tony was released just this past October. If it were a company without such deep pockets (I guess every other company), I can see that exclusivity deal being a huge waste of $$$$, but I'm sure it's just pocket change for MS.
