Castlevania Chronicles Now Available for PLAYSTATION®Network

The classic vampire-hunting franchise Castlevania makes its way onto PLAYSTATION®Network today, as Castlevania Chronicles is now available for download for $5.99. Until now, this iteration of the 2D, whip-wielding action game had yet to be released in America. In Castlevania Chronicles, players enter a world where Count Dracula has been resurrected to begin a new reign of terror across the land. As Simon Belmont, descendant of legendary vampire hunters, players enter Dracula's estate armed with a killer whip to destroy the count and his minions to bring peace to Europe.
Man, Persona 4 feels really, really polished. Like, everything about it.
I pretty much agree with you. My only problems with the game are pretty minor I guess and that is not being able to go into a dungeon after dark and not being able to do anything after coming out of a dungeon. Also, I really do need to go back and play SMT: Nocturne sometime soon. I started it and got sidetracked.

Was Castlevania Chronicles any good? Wasn't it like a remake of Castlevania 1 or something?

Can't say the closing down of Free Radical was surprising, given how Haze turned out.

Ah well. Back to smoking crack playing Persona 4.
They are almost the same thing, BTW.

I recall hearing some not so nice things about Castlevania Chronicles.

Hehe, I have been able to control my P4 addiction pretty well. But that might be because of the grinding I'm in the middle of doing right now... I think I goofed around too much after finishing the first dungeon.

Why the fuck would that news release say Castlevania Chronicles has never been released in America?

I bought it on release day earlier in the decade. It was my last new PS1 game bought at retail.

Hell, I already have it on my PSP.

And Chronicles is for CV completists only. It's not very fun.

Free Radical is closing? Does that mean no TimeSplitters 4?!
The doors are locked at the studio.
Sucks when employees come to work in the morning to find their shit locked.
That sucks so much.

I was really looking forward to TS4

Chronicles is good. It is a remake of the original Castlevania, but it plays a little more smoothly. You're still fairly limited in your movement though (particularly with stairs), but overall it's a lot of fun if you like old-style Castlevania. Great soundtrack, too.

Last Remnant is actually good! It's pretty fun, cuts out a lot of the unnessecary menus and dialog most RPGs have, and the battles actually are fast and fun.

That doritos dinosaur game is actually kinda good too. Easy 200 gamerscore in like 20 min. It plays like pac-man in 3D, only you get to be the ghosts or pac-man. Could be really fun in multiplayer. Too bad there's no online.

It's about a million times better than Yaris, thank god.
I'll be happy the day you stop enjoying putting people down.

In other news... nothing! I ate a huge bag of these... loved them, but my mout burns >_<

god those things are like eating gold :drool::drool::drool:
The Jalapeno ones are even better. Guaranteed to burn on the way out too. If you really want to be BRAVE, try those next time! haha

Snyders dark chocolate covered pretzels are godly as well.

They're usually in the chip isle.

How bizarre is it that there is a chip isle? I wonder if it's like that in other countries?

Wtf? Crazy finds at HPB today
--Einhander - mint and complete - $6
--Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G - $9 (the Japanese one)
--Fallout 1 - set of guides - official guide + vault dweller guide + something else - $8

decided to stop there on a whim and wound up with some hot shit.

holy shit!!

I've been wanting a Fallout 1 and 2 guide for a long time!

My cousin used to have both of them!

Forgot to mention they had Halo 3 for $14.99. The price tag said "as-is" but the disc looked fine, so I snagged that too.

Too bad I'm stuck in my empty apartment for 2 days and can't play any of this awesomeness.

Damn, those are some slick prices.

What's a HPB?
I'm still playing Fallout 3. I am soooo Late October! >_<

Plus, I'm still level 8. :p
Is this "still playing" as in you're slow and don't play much, or "still playing" as in addicted and can't stop?

If it's the latter, how are you only level 8? :whistle2:s
You're not the only one.;) I love the game, I think I'll end up playing though at least twice.
I think I'm done with the game. Maybe I'll check out the DLC, but not until they raise the level cap. I started to lose interest once I stopped receiving experience.
Where do you get them?
Although I probably haven't seen them since I usually skip the preztel snack bags.

Love me Pita chips.
Uh. Supermarket?

It's really hit or miss, probably more so than a pawnshop since people don't think to bring games to HPB. Then sometimes they price according to Ebay/Amazon, so something like FFVII will be $40. But when it rains, it pours, I guess :)
We've got two by here. Lots of good stuff if you're lucky.

I got one of them FF7 Versus guides there for $7 once ;)

I think recently they've started checking values online though.

Ninja Dog is it this: http://www.amazon.com/Official-Guid...=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1229632250&sr=8-7

? If so, you lucky sob..

If i found one of those I might not even be able to keep it, even though Fallout is my favorite game of the ever.
yeah, but it has like 3 books. It's like a set of guides. I'll post a pic later today.

forgot to mention, while getting $25 copies of SMG at blockbuster for gifts, I saw GTAIV 360 was $14.99 and all games $14.99 and under were B1G1. I was gonna get that and a PS3 GTAIV (since they had no more 360 versions), but the 360 copy was missing.

was disappointing, but then I remembered I would probably never play it

It's the former.

Probably for the better. They might have knocked you unconscious and called the police if you had bought one of those $15 GTA4's.

According to the blockbuster thread, those employees DON'T PLAY

There's TONS of HPB stores here.
One is the mothership for all of them (and the only one I'll go to), almost as big as a Wal-Mart.
Uh. Supermarket?
Yeah, but there's some brands you can only get a specific places.
Snyders dark chocolate covered pretzels are godly as well.
Oh shit son! I'm going to have to try those next time I get some. I loves me some chocolate covered pretzels!

Seconded. I love Castlevania though.

Damn, definitely nice snags.

I didn't play shit last night. Too busy doing other things. Oh well. Today I'm going to play Fallout 3.

I would be interested in the DLC, but I have reached the level cap yet, so I will see what happens then..

Yeah, it's old-school Castlevania.
There's an original and arrange mode to play.

You can unlock bonuses like art galleries and an interview. Some of the art is unused stuff from SotN.

Yup, from a school older than the original NES version.
What is X-Edge?
Very low budget RPG. Features characters from Capcom, Idea Factory and Gust.
It's been out in Japan for months. (also a demo on JPN PSN)
is Crash Commando tight, dallowncheese?
It's supposed to be.
I'm picking it up tonight and so is my buddy.
12 player online deathmatch and trophies.

Also, I found this:
Big Tip for anyone purchasing Castlevania Chronicles:

If you hold L1 and R1 while selecting your mode (original or arranged) you'll be given an option to change the music played in the game to the original versions.

Make sure you select the "GS" version (I can't remember exactly) but it's MUCH better than the remixed versions they did for this remake. So awesome.

Ohhh, I think I know what you're talking about now; aren't there N1 characters in it as well? And yeah, I never expected a US release for that either.

Seems like the licensing would have been a nightmare for USA.
