Someone in one of my classes tried to have a conversation with me about DBZ. Honestly, I know two things about it:

1) Toriyama did most of the character design/artwork.

2) Piccolo is the green guy.

Seriously. Not a damn thing else.

i wish i could fly. the dbz games are like animal crossing, every one is the same as the last. i bought the new ac for the wii and it BLOWS! Biggest disappointment of '08

But did you go to the city?

yeah i went to the city? and??? every thing there was already in the ds version but you just didn't have to go to a city. You still have to have friend codes.i played it for two days before i realized i had already done this all before.

The only DBZ games I've ever played were a couple Super Famicom imports, and the two PSX games (Ultimate Battle 22 and Final Bout GT) which I both imported back in those days.

The Burst Limit graphics make me want to get the game when its super cheap. The new DS one looks neat too. I like the original DB saga.

Only DBZ games I enjoy are the SNES ones...

other than that I really don' enjoy DBZ as a show or universe... the original dragonball was good though... million times better than Z and beyond.

Ultimate Battle 22 was soooooo cool. Nice 2D sprites spinning around. Good sense of speed. Felt most like the show.
Wish I could have understood it.

I had no idea it was released in the US many years later in English. I saw it in some shop for $39.99 used..... pass.
Checked eBay and bought a sealed copy on ebay for less than $5.00 last week.

I thought DBZ:BT2 on Wii was pretty good. It was definitely better than 3, even though it had online (which was broken as hell) it added timing puzzles to the special moves which sucked. I also enjoyed Final Bout on Playstation, but I didn't pick up the re-release when it came out :(

I remember buying a brand new Dreamcast off eBay a few years ago and the seller through in 20+ disc only copies of some DBZ game for PSX. :/

I preordered skate 2 last night and got a DBZ t-shirt as well.

I totally forgot about the Super Famicom games! Oh man... I was like, fucking 13 years old when I first played those. I loved the Super Butoden games so much on the emulator that I imported all three of them then "modified" my SNES to play them. I felt like such a cool nerd having a "modded" SNES and legit Japanese games. I paid out the ass for those three games... Though I could never find Hyper Dimension for a decent price.

@Animal Crossing discussion:
The redundancy of the game is what makes it so good. I know I've completely paid off my house on the Gamecube. I know that I've been slowly paying off my house on the DS. And I know for a fact that I'll be paying off my house on the Wii. Fact is, I don't mind it. There's definitely enough of a difference between AC and AC:WW to keep me entertained.

And I was definitely wrong about my 20 hour DQIV completion time. I'm at like 17 hours or maybe a little less and I am not even close to the ending. Bah! Still a fun game though.

I decided to take a break from Oblivion before firing up Shivering Isle and started The World Ends With You last night.

I played through the first two days and I'm liking it so far. Only gripes would be that the combat takes some getting used to, and I wish the main character wasn't the typical JRPG whiner who hates the world.

yeah, that intro in TWEWY is hard to bear. "I wish everyone would just....GO AWAY!" or something like that, right? The combat is sooooo fun once you get the hang of it though.

Yeah, crap like that through the intro and the first 2 days. "I'm never opening up to ANYONE!"

I did start to like the combat more, it's just convulted having 2 screens and I generally hate touch screen controls, but it is fun as you start to get the hang of it. And anything is better than the turn based combat that's in most JRPGs so I can't complain to much.

I just wanted to share what could very well be the best random monster encounter monster ever. The Sweaty Yeti. Best name. Best animation. Simply amazing. I'm just bummed I cant find a picture of him to post so you all can see the awesomeness that is Sweaty Yeti.

GF is the jam, except when I have discs sitting around for 3 weeks that I can't decide if I want to play or if I should ship it back. Currently Gears of War 2.

Yeah, that's the one reason I've never signed up for GF. I'm bad enough with leaving DVDs/Blu Rays from Netflix sitting around for a long time, and those only take a couple hours to finish and ship back.

I'd be a lost cause with a game rental service as I just don't have enough time to justify it, so I just went with using Goozex for most of my games as it's cheap and I don't mind the slow pace of getting new games since I'm always behind anyway.

I tried getting into DBZ for a week (5 episodes on Cartoon Network when it used to air weeknights at 10pm) because my friends love it for some reason. It was soooo slow. Goku was fighting Friza .. I think .. and they were up in the air for all 5 episodes. I think only about 5 minutes elapsed in their world. Its just non stop close ups and slow motion.

I impulse bought The Maw this morning after playing the demo. It's got a lot of charm. Some fun puzzles too. A good way to blow 800 points left over after buying a card for the Fallout 3 expansion next week.

Also, Banjo Kazooie is a fun, fun game. Just started making planes. Fooled around in the workshop for like an hour and didn't even do any missions.
Looking at your cheesemints, you have a LOT more to do.

You should check out the wiki!

Oh yeah, I know. I only got like the southeast quadrant of the map spec'd out (and not even to completion).

But I'm getting that DLC next week! ahahahaha....

Ar Tonelico 2 is a lot of fun. They improved the battle sytem quite a bit, and added a lot more interaction with the reyvateils. Also the music is amazing.

I have my copy sitting in my room. But I can't seem to make myself go down to my Basement to play it.

It's a really fun game.. I need to put more time into it. The puzzles are really clever and deceptively difficult. That first world is really just the beginning.

Picked up LBP today and played through some of it. I wish Sackboy could be a little bit heavier in terms of physics, but otherwise, I'm pretty overwhelmed by all there is to do.

Dammit, nobody thought it was a good idea to tell me that the printer in the house was broken, so I couldn't print out that coupon from GS. Son of a bitch!

Like Braid where the first world was really just a teaser. Blown away by the puzzles later on.

Are you playing it on Wii or PC?
I have the PC version from Amazon. (my first PC game since StarCraft launched, oh crap)
Hey Myke, this is pretty old so you may have seen it, but it gave me a chuckle.

Thanks for that link.

East Bay Ray is a sack of fuck. I still resent my friends who went to see Courtship of Eddie's Father Dude with some ex-members of the Dead Kennedys. I wouldn't go to see that shit.

Dead Kennedys first public appearance after 'reforming'?

A press junket at Best Buy.

But, yeah, the Burma pack was ten kinds of awesome. And, for some reason, making me wish that Joy Division's "Atmosphere" would hit RB. Though it's drums and synth, the drums would be out of this world hot shit to play.

How so? All I know is there are two phases, attack and defend and something about the magic for revkywhatever.

Maybe "Hand in Glove" while we're at it? Call it the "euro-wimp pack"?

;)

The overall argument of the article is a good one, and the sampling available via the Rock Band store is a good way to help move that along. I would have never discovered Vagiant if not for Rock Band, but now I'm a fan of their paint-by-numbers streetpunk sound.

Works the other way around too, Rock Band has fortified my hate for certain groups like Linkin Park for example.
I just never cared about them when I was in middle to high school, but now that I actually heard their song in Rock Band, I'm filled with rage.

Hand in Glove? :) They can call it whatever they want!
I've been dying for an excuse to yell out "Let me get my hands / on your mammary glands"

   Right. I need to look and see if there's a "never select this fucking song at random, you bastard AI" option in RB2. I think there is, but I've a few songs in mind to put on there.

Peppermint Patty-haired falsetto motherfuckers.
fuck... Once I get on my payroll I'm getting on gamefly.
Shit's pretty tight so far.

Kinda. See, I used to use Gamefly in 2005-06 when I lived at Cherry Point. The shipping took forever because it had to filter through the military postal system. Plus they probably had fewer shipping centers back then. I wound up cancelling after a couple months of being underwhelmed.

Now that I'm living (apparently) closer to one of their distribution centers, it takes like 2 days to get a game. I'm happy that Gamefly convinced me not to buy Mercs 2, even at its lower price.

I plan to re-up my Netflix starting March.

I have this sudden urge to pick up Ar Tonelico 2 now. I see it in my Gold Box for a pittance of a discount.

Kinda regretting not pre-ordering when it was $29.99 on amazon...damn them, I can never figure out when they are going to discount stuff anymore...

Must...resist...

Hehe, and some of the groups I just know are trash I download for the fun of hearing my buddy sing them. They're so ridiculous.

I'm so hoping for Simple Plan's "Welcome to My Life".
It never fails to have me bursting at the seams, holy crap, I'm laughing now just thinking about it! :)
